Organic luxury at its best 11/25/2009

I just moved to the area and was looking for a place to unwind. I got online and found The Woodhouse Day Spa, and saw that it is ranked the number one day spa chain in America, by Day Spa Magazing- so i figured I would give them a shot. When i arrived i was greeted by a warm, uplifting staff- who not only addressed my every need. but did so without me having to say hardly anything at all. This experience was only enhanced when I was taken back for their "Minkyti Facial" -which i was told was an "Award Winning Facial". When i finished with my facial, i was so shocked how great i felt once it was over that i couldnt wait to book another appointment. If you are looking for a place wheer you can relax, unwind and let all your cares drift away then this is the place where you can do it. Pros: All organic skincare more

Made the wifes happy! 11/21/2009

My wife and friends raved about their day at the spa and said it was like they went on vacation! I will be sending her back often and look forward to booking their couples massage for our anniversary. Pros: Great Escape Cons: Could use more reading material more

Most Amazing Spa Experience! 11/17/2009

Right when I walked in the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was put in a robe and slippers and offered the most wonderful tea! I had a massage with Monica, which was one of the best massages I've ever had - and I make it a practice to frequent some of the best spas in Europe when I'm there for business. She found knots in places I didn't even know I could be holding tension! Then, I had a facial (I can't remember the therapist's name), which was divine. It was the Minkyti (which I still can't pronounce properly). When I left, my skin felt so clean, there was a healthy glow and it even felt tighter - like I'd been sitting in the sun all day. I will definitely be back to this spa, one of Franklin's rare gems. Pros: Felt so pampered! Cons: Nothing! more

I was in Nashville visiting my cousin when we decided to go the Woodhouse to treat my jet lag. We had a wonderful experience, the staff was friendly and my therapist was professional and very good. She was able to make me forget all about lugging all of my bags around the airport the day before! Woodhouse Day Spa in Franklin is the traveller's best friend!! Pros: Perfect more

Great place for a relaxing massage 10/20/2009

Wonderful massage experience. I was not impressed with the Organic Facial which was marketed to be the equivalent to a glycolic facial. I personally did not see a difference in my skin, although my facialist was very knowledgeable. I have had glycolics in the past and this did not perform. The massages are wonderful and incorporate aromatherapy for relaxation. One other drawback: broken shower head in the shower. They do use oils for the massage and it would have been nice to have a properly functioning shower head afterwards. Also, no lotions or other products for post-massage that would be helpful especially when paying this much. Pros: Accommodating staff, lovely and relaxing sitting room Cons: prefer massages to facials here; can be comparably costly more

Heartsick 10/4/2009

This was my first ever spa visit...a gift from a friend for four of us...a ladies day out on her. I indicated on my sheet that I had sensitive skin, but did not think to mention not to touch my face since A. I didn't think a back and body message would include touching my face and B. I didn't think I'd be burned/scarred. Cons: Was scarred on my face at Woodhouse Day Spa in Franklin TN more

Somehow, during the therapist's pulling in an upward motion with her nail around my temples and in combination with the chamomile oil she used (which I found out later is similar botanically to RAGWEED!!), my face was burned and scratched at the same time. It left me first with a purple, crepey burn mark for about a week. Now over a year later, I have a PERMANENT crepey depression in the area beneath my eye at the top of the apple of my cheek. Unfortunately, it looks like an inch long 1/8th inch wide checkmark WRINKLE...with very deep lines on either side. And the spa's insurance company only paid half of my medical bills to treat it, which in the end did absolutely nothing to improve it. Really pathetic considering I told them about it immediately, revisited the spa to show it to them right after it happened and they agreed that the mark was likely caused by some of the oil getting inside my pores in combo with the nail of the therapist. The owner had very little if any sympathy in regard to the injury. Don't they have a responsibility to be more careful about women's tender facial skin and at least letting them know that chamomile oil is like putting RAGWEED all over your face and body? I am not out to damage the spa's reputation, but I cannot get over this awful scar on my face and the fact that I was never properly compensated for the cost of getting it checked and treated. So I feel my only restitution to to post that I am personally sick over this and offer this information so others are forewarned about facial sensitivities during spa visits, particularly at the Woodhouse Day Spa in Franklin. Be careful. If something unusual happens during your visit, they will fight coverage of your costs. Cons: Was scarred on my face at Woodhouse Day Spa in Franklin TN more

Wonderful spa! 9/29/2009

The Woodhouse Day Spa is very nice for this area and the price is excellent. It's definitely not the Four Seasons but for TN, it works. The atmosphere is very calming and the therapists I have had have been wonderful! I definitely try to go in once a month. The only complaint I have is that there aren't enough showers, bathrooms in the locker room. There also weren't curling irons, straighteners, lotions, perfumes, etc for our convenience. Keep in mind, I was spoiled at my other spas so that's not really fair for me to judge but it's a thought. Maybe buy some nice scented lotions and have a variety in the locker rooms for people to use-it just ends the whole experience on a good note. All in all I really love this place and will continue to get my massages here. Pros: cost, atmosphere, friendly Cons: not enough room! more

Luxurious, truly relaxing, and all natural 5/21/2009

My mother and I recently spent the afternoon at this wonderful spa. I have been to several in Nashville and I never feel like I get the ultimate "special" treatment that I anticipate. I always feel rushed and uncomfortable. Finally, I have found the place that I will be faithful to for spa treatments. The ambiance was serene, the staff was pleasant and welcoming, they gave us extremely soft robes, hot tea and comfy slippers and we relaxed in a lovely room waiting for our treatments. The products used are organic and high quality and the treatments really made a difference in my appearance. We each had a facial and one of the fabulous pedicures. We both purchased the skin care products and absolutely love them. They were very helpful in educating us about the benefits of using organic, natural products, but defnitely not pushy. Our pedicure polish lasted (chip-free!) for nearly a month and my feet were unbelievably soft as well. The prices are comparable to all the other spas in the area. I have been searching for a spa that was comparable to those in my hometown of Miami, and this is definitely it. You must try it! Pros: Beautiful ambiance, organic products, unbelievable services more

Well it started off great.... 2/13/2009

The facilities are new and lovely. They have a vast array of services to choose from, and more interesting therapies such as scalp massages with oil. The therapists are very personable and tailor your treatment individually. I really liked my therapist, Kudos! I also really enjoyed the locker room and it's private shower, and provided bath robes with sandals. I actually wanted to spend more time in the locker room instead of immediately rushing out to the car at the end of my massage, which was a first. I did not really appreciate the sales pitches, (buy a package of 5 massages and get 1 free!). In this economy, who's buying that many massages at once? It's like $500 of massages. My big complaint was billing. I had a gift certificate they "couldn't find on file" and I felt they insinuated it was fraudulent activity because their system couldn't find my gift card. Well guess what, I had to pay full price and they "had to call corporate to see what to do, and we'll call you tomorrow." I didn't get a phone call the next day and I had to follow up with the staff. Then they wanted my credit card # to credit the account, and did not say anything about calling corporate offices, but apparently that the credit could be done no problem. *sigh* I hate having to follow up to be sure other people do what they are supposed to do. I feel like I do that at work everyday, there's no need for it at my spa where I'm supposed to leave relaxed and not all jazzed about being overcharged. Overall, I'm not sure I'll go back. I do like the therapist and the facility. Their Vichy shower looks super awesome and I really want to try it. The whole billing thing was a pain and quite irritating, so if I don't go back, it's more out of spite. Pros: large array of services, awesome therapist, beautiful spa Cons: sales pitches, billing issue, sales pitches more
