Worst General Manager 3/18/2011

I've never had such a terrible experience at a semi-upscale restaurant in Beverly Hills..The manager RON KIRK is like a bat out of hell...not sure what was eating him up (possible anger management issues)...I will never go back there ever again..BEWARE OF RON KIRK!!!!..he calls his patrons ""Assholes""..and he's a general manager..ouch!!!! more

Great Experience!! 5/10/2010

My wine was superb along with my salad. The food was very prompt and I had no major complaints. It was my first time in l.a. and my 2nd restaurant so I was thrilled. Will come back soon !! Pros: Service was great Cons: Parking sucked! Kinda rude... more

WORST RESTAURANT EVER 3/5/2010

I went with a party of 4 people - without boring you with details, I must honestly say, this was the worst dining experience we have ever had. The food sucked, the service was non existent and when the manager EVENTUALLY came it was like a horror movie. It was as if he wanted to get in a fight --- \r The rudest man I have ever met - argumentative but very balance .... he had a chip on both shoulders!\r Don't eat here, save your money! Cons: BAD FOOD / USELESS STAFF / MANAGEMENT ULTRA RUDE more

Nice setting, good food but service and splatter? 1/2/2010

Inside is nice w/ good upscale look/feel. Service to get cocktails was slow - took 10+ minutes after order to get served, though drinks were good. Crowd was not young. Service not bad, but not pampered either, for responsiveness/pacing. Tuna tartar app was generous if not a bit bland (salt-pepper + ordered a lemon squeeze which did the trick - needs capers), but some of the toast slices w/ the tartar were burned - not impressive). Splatter from 'sizzle plates' was very bad. In spite of the hot plate, my med-rare sirloin was only a bit above room temp, so I asked them to warm it w/o cooking it, which they did nicely. Food taste was pretty good, what you'd expect for $40 sirloin. Setting 6 (7 if no splatter), food 7, service 6, value 8 Pros: food, wine list Cons: grease splatter, only OK service more

AMAZING!!!!! 9/15/2009

This is pretty much my new favorite restaurant in LA area. Great Wine selection, great port selection. Amazing food, service was excellent, and the toilets were incredible. This place has to have the coolest toilets I have ever had the luxury of sitting on! And for all you losers, who are too cheap to pay for excellent food, or don't understand ""big"" city dining (yes it is always a la carte) I am glad you won't be my company durin gmy next dining experience here! Thank you Wolfgang! Pros: Great Steak, Service, Toilets more

Best steak in LA for a reasonable price 4/29/2009

If you like a steakhouse-style steak (as opposed to a restaurant steak) , this place is for you. I really cannot fathom why this place has only gotten 3.5 stars so far. I've eaten quite often at other steakhouses in the area (Cut, STK), and while STK is very good, Wolfgang's is better, and cheaper also. The vibe is very traditional and not stuck up. This is my most frequented restaurant in LA, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Pros: Excellent (!) food, service, ambiance Cons: Expensive, but what steakhouse isn't more

Never Going Back!!! 1/24/2009

I have been here twice. The first time was ok, not bad, not great. The second time was total douchebaggery!! I took my brother and 4 friends out for his birthday. We had an 8:30 reservation. We get there 5 minutes early and the hostess tells us it will be 5-10 minutes and to wait at the bar. 45 MINUTES LATER WE WERE STILL STRANDED AT THE BAR!! I blew them off and went to the Montage. F*** this place. I will never go back!!!\r \r more

Overpriced Sizzling Hype 1/17/2009

I split time between here and NY. This is just way over the top. ""We're famous for our blah-blah potatoes"" or ""You shouldn't have the steamed spinach. The creamed is better."" They act like the patrons have never eaten in a restaurant before. The service is pretentious and the steak is ordinary, really nothing special. And, it costs a small fortune. There is no sense or restaurant reality in this place. Buy a steak at Ralphs for ten bucks and cook it it home or go to a local joint that doesn't have to bring out a sizzling plate of grease surrounding your meat. Pros: If you want to say you had steak in Beverly hills Cons: About everything else including $7 valet parking more

Great food, over attentive service 12/31/2008

Excellent food but the service was over attentive, but it's not really the waiter's fault; server was a great guy. We went for early dinner after shopping so restaurant was quiet so maybe he needed more tables but I recommend you ask for them not to slice your steak (kind of their ""thing"") and tell them you can spoon your own sides onto your plate because you're not a helpless baby (unless you are or you like being interrupted every five minutes). If sliced, they serve the steak on a sizzling hot platter and give you a few pieces on your plate which means the waiter feels he has to come over to your table to serve you more pieces of steak so you don't burn yourself on the platter i guess. They even try to serve you the creamed spinach (very good, not super heavy or creamy) which seems silly. Canadian bacon was rich and very salty but the gluton in me enjoyed it. Great place just don't expect to be left alone. Pros: quality of the steak, nice atmosphere, baaaacon... Cons: over attentive service, more

Mastro's is better 7/22/2008

Nothing to rave about here. The space is very nice, the staff was friendly, and the food was good--although the famed ""steak for four"" (or three, or two) was the most disappointing part of the meal. This place has nothing on Mastro's, which remains by far the best steak in LA (the bone-in filet is amazing). We did have a Britney Spears sighting, so perhaps this a place to see and be seen for now, but I doubt it will have staying power. Pros: Atmosphere, service Cons: Mediocre steak (a problem for a steakhouse) more

Excellent Service and Delicious Food 7/13/2008

I've been to many (if not all) of the high-end steak houses in Los Angeles, and I can truly say that Wolfgang's is one of the best, in regards to food, service, and atmosphere. I went with my girlfriend to celebrate a special occasion on a Saturday night. We started with a seafood platter, which came with shrimp, lobster tail/claw and a crab, in addition, we were served a piece of Canadian bacon along side the platter, (which i would have never found to be a good pairing, but it was phenomenal). We then had one veal chop and one steak (i cannot remember the cut). both of the steaks were perfectly cook, and the waiter then cut both pieces of meat so we could share them. Overall, it was a heavy meal, but everything was perfect.\r \r The restaurant is decorated beautifully, the tables were spaced out well, and the chairs were very comfortable. The wait staff was very attentive and courteous. \r \r My only complaint is that the room is a little loud, and there are two televisions next to the bar (no sound). I find the televisions to be a little out of place in such a classy place. Additionally, Corkage fee was $30.00... which is about as high as it gets in LA restaurants. Nevertheless, they had a very nice wine list as well.\r \r Overall, I found this place to be a gem, and I will be back. Pros: Delicious, Amazing Service, and Canadian Bacon more
