IMPRESSED BY THE CHANGE 10/30/2010

I've been a customer of Wild Thyme for a while, I really like the food. They have a great menu with some good fish dinners. I have never been disappointed with the food. THE SERVICE at Wild Thyme used to be the only thing that was a big let down. It seemed like we were interupting the servers and that they would get to us as soon as they were done talking to the hostess or each other. But that seems to have changed in the last month or so. It seems that the owners have hired someone who knows about customer service. She seems to have the staff on there toes and makes sure that we(the customers) are taken care of. Impressed by the positive change. more

PLEASE NEW MANAGEMENT 4/2/2010

Everything on their menu is okay- it's as if something is missing. Their service is horrible, I was seated at the counter where the waiters and waitresses as well as hostess could see me and it took them nearly ten minutes for them to take my drink order. The servers are rude and very obnoxious. Since I'm sitting at the counter I could hear every word they are saying. They talk about the couple seated at table six and three, how so-and-so tipped them this much. The servers should be happy they are getting any tip at all with the way they are acting! I don't know how Wild Thyme stays in business. I know for sure that I will never be back again until they are under new management. When I went to pay the bill, this rounded girl did not even notice me. She was talking to a server behind the counter about who knows what while playing with her hair. I cleared my throat and finally she looked over with this snear look. She took the bill and gave me my change. I know I will never be returning to this restaurant- if you could call it that. Instead of Wild Thyme they should call it Rude Thyme so people know what they are spending their money on. If there was anything lower than one star, they deserve that. Cons: Service is WORST than Horrible more

HORRIBLE, LAZY SERVICE 9/30/2009

I really do not know how they can be staying in business with the customer service they guve (none). The hosts are always slouching around, talking to the other waiters and they take FOREVER to attend you at your tables. Refills? Good luck! The worst part about it is that they WILL actually tell you something if they are not satisfied with their tip. Of course, only if you are the last person there. It happened to me. Horrible place to dine at. I advise you to stay away from this horrid place. Pros: Good cheese Cons: Lazy employees more

Great food, TERRIBLE service 3/22/2008

I don't know what's happened with customer service these days, but Wild Thyme seems as though they've hired the worst of the worst. The hostess always seems to be gone before I've even sat down at the table with her eyes wandering off somewhere in the distance. I've JUST gotten home from going there after being a very loyal customer for years, and sat down for 15 minutes without so much as being glanced at by any member of the waitstaff. 3 parties who came in after I did, got their beverages served and no one even came by to see if I wanted water! The servers seemed to have time to stand by the register and chit chat, and calculate bills and tips and so forth, but nope.. no time to see if I wanted food. If I wanted that kind of attention, or lack there of I could have just gone to some restaurant in BH with pretentious waitstaff. ARGGHH... more

apathetic, slow, clueless waiters and food is average. rude cashier 4/7/2007

We came here for breakfast on Saturday a little before noon and the restaurant was not that busy, but for some reason the service was slow. The restaurant was probably a third full. We were waiting for quite a while before they took our order. Finally we ordered off the late riser's menu since they didn't have breakfast. I had the florentine omelette which was just okay, nothing special. I looked over and I noticed the table next to us trying helplessly to get the waiter's attention too. Poor couple looked like they were done with their meal when we were seated but couldn't manage to get the check from the waiter. Portions are pretty small here, but it's a step above ihop's or denny's I suppose. WHen we were leaving, I asked if whether they baked the cakes and pastries here and the cashier (white guy) looked at me with a stotic face and said ""yea."" Oops, my bad, sorry for asking; i guess i got him at a bad time. Typically there is one Asian guy cashier guy who is nice, but the white dude gives attitude like no other. The staff behind him were horseplaying around and joking and laughing; obviously they don't care about the people in the dining area trying to get their attention. Until there's another breakfast place in Pasadena, unfortunately WIld Thyme will just have to do. Pros: nowhere else to go for breakfast in pasadena Cons: apathetic, slow, clueless service more

Wild Thyme Bakery & Cafe (Poor Management) you can tell by the overall experience 1/26/2007

I'am a professional who has worked all around the country, and I have a hard time calling this place a restaurant, in the south, they call places like this a greasey spoon. Poor quality food, and service. Being a foody, we tend to look around as we wait for our food, I have one thing to say about this place, It's obvious that the owners dont care. The only thing that will save this place is new ownership. more

Horrible food and service--""B"" rating says it all 12/17/2006

As a cook in a restaurant I know how food should look and taste. This restaurant is clearly inferior. I ordered the Tuna Salad Nicoise (my first mistake) and I only ate a few bites because it was so bad. The boiled eggs were gray, the seared tuna was old and tough, and the roasted peppers were spoiled. To top it off, there was a peculiar ""spread"" looking substance on my boyfriend's English muffins. Upon examining it further, I figured out it was milk solids from partially clarified butter --YUCK!! When the cashier asked how our lunch was, we told him how bad it was and he was so busy taking our money he didn't even listen. Next time I'm really hungry I will think twice about settling for a ""B"" rated restaurant. I will never eat at Wild Thyme again! Cons: food and service more

Wonderful breakfast, bad dinner 12/8/2005

Order a spaghetti bowl and was served less than 3-4 bites. We thought they were joking with us at first, but soon realized that they were not. The spaghetti was served in a huge bowl, but it looked like what you would leave in the bowl after dining. When questioned, they stated that was there normal serving, so we paid the bill and went for dinner at another restaurant, never to return. We used to dine there weekly with friends, but not after that incident. They do have a wonderful breakfast and quick service. Being 120-lbs and 5'11""tall, it is not like I expect a large serving, but at least give me enough to have the energy to walk out of the place. Pros: great breakfast, quick service, Good prices Cons: bad dinner more

Great little restaurant! 6/15/2005

I like to go to Wild Thyme when in the So. Pas. area. My favorite item is the BBQ Ribs. Yum! more

Best Breakfast in the Area 3/14/2005

For a great breakfast in the Pasadena area, try Wild Thyme. They have a great selection of specialties as well as the standards (omlettes, pancakes, waffles), and fresh bakery items too! The service is always very good, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere clean and homey. Pros: ample parking more

great place 4/5/2003

While it isn't haute gourmet, there isn't much more you could ask for in this style of restaurant. For the price and the speed of service, this is a place that I always love to go to for the everyday lunch or dinner. The influences of New Orleans at this place harbor satisfyingly delicious meals with a french influence. Even there crepes could make a Frenchie think of home. I sugest the dish of Sole. This is one of my favorite fish, and it is more difficult to prepare than many others. For a restaurant in the class of a diner, this is quite an achievment. One would even wish to put it a different class of restaurant, above a diner, perhaps, a gourmet diner? Pros: inexpensive, great parking, great food Cons: small smoking patio more
