A power-hungry Board President fired one of the best coaches in the country, and the head age-group coach quit.

Fresh paint and Positive instructors 9/9/2015

Finished summer swim lessons with very happy children. The instructors were so positive and I watched my children improve into some very good swimmers. We are looking forward to more time here. The place has been cleaned up and the fresh paint in the lesson pool is so much nicer than before. Nice job Wichita Swim Club and instructors! more

Downhill! 8/24/2015

Shell of what this used to be both the facility, pride, sportsmanship, and swim lesson program. Our family used to be a part of this organization years ago, now the next generation is ready to swim (grandkids) I was so disappointed with the program and staff this is not the place it used to be....to bad will be looking at other programs. more

Wow...let's see overpriced, dirty unprofessional, dirty, unfriendly,dirty, lazy, dirty, unmotivated staff, did I mention dirty?!! Not the place for swim lessons anymore! Read the reviews....do not make the same mistake I did...it is hard to find anything good to say about this place! ZERO STARS!!!!! more

Not the program if you want your kids to learn to swim 6/1/2015

Wasted my time and money. I am done never returning. Figured it would be worth it to spend the extra money but this program is not well administered and the Instructors are not very experienced. Used to be a good program but that is in the past and we will not be returning. I have 4 kids ages, 2,4 6 & 9. Do not make the same mistake try another program. more

Mediocre at best 4/29/2015

Wanted to like this program. Close to our house and where our kids go to school. Enrolled and had a bad experience but thought well maybe we just got off to a rough start but it will get better.........it did not get better. Locked on one skill, Instructors did not have or seem to have much experience, and my kids sat on the side most of the class. Place is also loud, dirty and unfriendly done and not returning. more

Impressive! 4/27/2015

I watched my grandchild take lessons here. He loves his classes and teacher. I taught swim back in my younger days and really like the program at Wichita Swim Club. Some programs try to teach too much in a session and the kids end up confused, frustrated, and not doing much more than a dog paddle. I like the approach of teaching a skill at a time and building on it. Keep up the good work! more

LOOKING FOR ANOTHER PROGRAM!!! 4/21/2015

I wish I would have found this site and reviewed the comments before I went to this place for swim lessons. Waste of time and money hope I help another family not make the same bad decision I made. I have 3 kids 6,4 & 2 enrolled all three will not even finish the session. Really expensive to be so ineffective, I was willing to pay more so my kids could learn to swim this is not the place. more

Fantastic Swim School Director 3/17/2015

Wichita Swim Club has a new swim school director and she is one of the best in the area. She has a great reputation and is working hard to make WSC the place for lessons. She has been training the staff and I have seen some wonderful teaching going on. If you want the truth, you owe it to yourself to drop in and talk to Emily and check out the program. Yes, there have been problems in the past with previous directors, but WSC is now on the right track. The swim lesson program is thriving under her leadership and the competetive program is sending swimmers to Junior Nationals as early as age 13. That is some amazing swimming! more

Not Worth the Money 1/24/2015

Had high hopes but did not even come close to living up to our expectations. This is a joke, no one is focused or trained or if they are they do not care. Unorganized, dirty and ineffective swim lesson program. Swim team parents are all complaining. Even if you look past the dirty physical environment the people in this place are pushy or complaining ,overall a depressing place to be avoid ever stepping foot in this place and you will have a happier life! more

Wow I have never been more disappointed with anything ever, this place takes the top award for worst swim lessons! As if that is not enough the management is rude and condescending partnered with an attitude that they are better than the rest. I do not wish this experience on any other family, we will never ever return to this place EVER! more

What?!! 6/13/2014

We have 3 girls ranging in age from 3 - 7. We are committed to swimming lessons, we travel a lot and spend a lot of time at the lake so they have to learn to swim well. Let me tell you it is not happening at Wichita Swim Club! They are very unorganized, the Instructors have little experience and interest in the kids and the place is filthy! Lot's of the parents are complaining we were all timing how long are kids were in the water during a 30 minute class the average was 6 minutes! They are in a kicking station and that is all they do for the entire class! REALLY, REALLY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PLACE AND PROGRAM. We are very busy like other families and do not have time to waste, this is a waste of time and money. We are not going to finish the class and not returning or recommending this place to anyone. more

Never Again 6/2/2014

Huge disappointment! Went to swim lessons we have not been for a couple of years well were we in for a surprise! This is not what it used to be. Our child is "stuck" in the "kicking station" What a joke. We have 6 classes left I asked for a refund. They were very rude and refused it is so bad we are not going to finish. WILL FORFEIT THE MONEY DO NOT EVER WANT TO WALK INTO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! EVER........ more

Not worth one star 5/2/2014

Swim lessons are a joke. Swim Team is not very well organized and little attention is given to the individual. There are a few "superstars" who the coaches pay attention to the rest of the time they are texting during practice. The team is arrogant and disrespectful the place is dirty there is not much to like. I really wanted to like this place it is close to our house my kids ages 3,6,& 8 love to swim but it will not be here. When I tried to talk to the coaches and instructors about our concerns we were basically told if you do not like it go somewhere else. No problem we will never return. more

Never Again! 4/4/2014

I took my 3 year old here for swim lessons. They leave them sitting on the side of the pool unattended while the teacher takes one student in the pool at a time. My three year old was sitting nicely but fell into the water and sunk to the bottom of the pool. I was outside the glass watching but could not get there quickly. The teacher had her back turned and never saw him. Someone was able to get him out. He could have drowned. I talked to the teacher and the pool manager but he was unconcerned. They handled the situation very poorly. It only takes a second to get lungs full of water. I left the lessons and will not return. Another parent in the class also observed the incident and left the swim club as well. The quality of instruction has really deteriorated. Safety should be of the utmost importance when dealing with small children. more

Leaving 3/28/2014

We gave one star only because it would not allow us to rate it as a ZERO! Our family and several friends returned to lessons and swim team after having been gone for awhile. Boy were we in for a shock! Everything is different and not for the better! The staff and coaches are untrained, uninterested and customer service is a concept they do not foster! We are done going elsewhere and never ever ever returning. more

Love this place 3/13/2014

We have been with the swim club for 6 years and it is like a second home. Both of my children learned to swim here and continue to swim here. They have met great friends at the club and the atmoshphere and hard work has really helped them develope who they are. The coaches are friendly and care about the success of your swimmer. Swim club has become such a part of our lives we even volunteer at swim meets. more

This place turned over their complete staff not long ago. Hired new inexperienced staff and promised that things would get better. Not sure what they were talking about they had a great program before they made the changes. Regardless we hung around because it is close to our house. Has been one mess after another we are not going to wait around for their new promise as they bring in a new program. Program might be good but no one in this organization understands how to deal with their customer base of families with young kids. We are going to go somewhere else at this point I do not even care how far we have to drive! Do not try this program save yourself the hassle and money go somewhere else anywhere is better than this place, too bad if you would have asked me a year ago I would have given this place 5 stars! more

Zero Value 10/28/2013

Young Inexperienced Instructors, very unorganized and the management is evasive and non-interested in the parents concerns. Not a value for the money actually it is not a value period. I had a friend tell me this was the best place to take swim lessons. I called her to tell her how awful our experience was, she apologized and told me it used to be such a great place but the management and staff has totally turned over and her family is no longer taking lessons there and would not recommend it in the future. Hope I save you the money do not try this place for swim lessons. more

It also provides memberships of various denominations. It organizes fundraising events and swimming championships. In addition, it employs a staff of coaches and support personnel. Wichita Swim Club is a member of the Missouri Valley Swimming Local Swim Committee and USA Swimming.
