We went as one of our first date nights in Richmond (we do date night every week). We read a lot about this restaurant and expected a lot. However, coming from Philly, we have high expectations. The seats were benchs with no cushions, and the back of the seats were in a 90 degree angle. I was so comfortable the whole time, i could barely think about my food. I had to keep adjusting my seating just so that my tailbone didnt hurt so bad. The service was ok, ambience very rustic, and cramped to me. Food was good, very large portions. Real down and true southern. Not gourmet classy food. More comfort food, (ie cheesy grits?? i thought they only did this at waffle house..... i guess i have a lot to learn about richmond). Overall, it was ok. Stemware for the wine wasn't that great. I am a stickler for having the right stemware with the right wine. That was just a minor detail though. Not a place to get dressed up to go to. Don't think I would go back, although my steak was good.
Pros: steak
Cons: seating, ambience, stemware
