The hygienist at the office presented me with a treatment called Periodontal Maintenance. But what she did was just a regular dental cleaning. It included (1) cleaning with a high speed water jet, (2) baking soda spray to clean the stain on the teeth, (2) scrapping on four teeth. It was no different from the regular dental cleaning I received at another dental office six months earlier. The whole cleaning process lasted not longer than twenty minutes. Yet, Westgrove insisted billing the procedure as “Periodontal Maintenance” at a much higher fee. I asked the hygienist what she did differently from a regular cleaning. She could not answer. All she could say was that since I had periodontal treatment before (at a different office many many years ago), they could not bill the insurance as regular cleaning. This is totally false since I had the regular cleaning six months earlier and was billed as such. The hygienist said to make me happy they will change the billing to regular dental cleaning. Yet when I got home they called me and said that they would bill me as in the original bill, the Periodontal Maintenance. All they did was to switch the procedure proposed with a regular dental cleaning. This is dishonest. more

I use to go to Westgrove Dental and was always happy with the staff and dentist. I thought everyone was so friendly. One day my husband and I decided to have some cosmetic veneers done here. The whole process seemed to go smoothly at first but after paying up front in full, they sent us a bill of an additional $1000. I thought, this has to be a mistake and I called the office and the girl I spoke with assured me it was just a billing mistake and she would fix it. A month later I received another bill and I called the office immediately. I was told the office manager would call me back. She never called and so I called the following month when I receive a collections notice! By this time I was pretty upset. When I finally spoke to the office manager she denied that we were ever quoted a definite price from the beginning and the amount we paid up front was never suppose to be the full amount. I find this absolutely ridiculous because this procedure is not covered by insurance and there should be no reason the price should change. She could not answer me as to why we were told we had to pay in full or why we were quoted a price that would not end up being the total amount due. She claimed there was no record of any of the conversations or price quotes we were ever given. We decided to pay the additional $1000 and be done with the office. I recently have seen another dentist and have been told that my veneers where not done well and because of this, I may need to see a gum specialist or have my veneers completely redone due to how the veneers were placed and are causing bacteria to settle in the gums. I'm very upset because this sounds like shoty cosmetic work will end up costing me dearly and my veneers are just barely 1 old. I will likely seek a second opinion but have a feeling I made a huge mistake by choosing Westgrove Dental. more

Would not recommend this dental office 4/29/2011

I went to Westgrove Dental in Carrollton for an exam and a cleaning. There is a man and a woman dentist that both practice here. The first time, the woman dentist examined my teeth. She was very strange and was singing the whole time. Not sure why she was singing but made me feel very uncomfortable. I don't know if she thought she would sooth me with her singing or what but I was only getting an exam and really did not care to hear someone sing off-key while they were a couple of feet away from me. The next time I went, I requested to have the man exam my teeth as I didn’t want the have to listen to the woman’s singing. He just basically glanced over my teeth in a few minutes – didn’t really give what I would consider a thorough exam. I would not go back to Westgrove Dental in Carrollton as I thought they were very unprofessional. more

Great Dental Office 1/30/2010
