I love taking my kids to Dr. Westfall. She is happy to have parents sitting in the room while she and the hygienist work with the kids. Peace of mind for everyone. The kids love her. Never had any trouble. Very caring. Very knowledgeable. Now our whole family goes as well. more

Frankly creepy how dull and socially unresponsive the doctor is. On two separate visits we were ""greeted"" by a silent stare from the doctor and the lady in the office window. Neither one of them ever said ""Hello"" let alone ""Hello Mrs.____, nice to see you (again)"" Departing was just as unpleasant with the same weird, disconnected, passive stares. We were not thanked for our business, we were not escorted to the door, neither the doctor or the lady in the office window said a word. Not ""goodbye"", not anything. Creepy, uncivilized. I would NEVER go back. more

Dr. Westfall and her team of hygienists are excellent and I have never had any of the bad experiences described in the negative reviews. Marie did a great job cleaning my teeth and checking for gum problems and suspicious spots on my teeth, then Dr. Westfall came in to make her own brief eval and to confirm what Marie had found (that is to say, nothing suspicious). I had a cavity last year and it was my first. I had anticipated pain and suffering and it was nothing of the kind. Wow - what was I worrying about all those years? I'm convinced that my 6-monthly cleanings have been responsible for keeping my teeth in such good shape. I worried initially about her prices after a recent increase, but it turns out that she was low and is now around the 50th percentile in prices here in Ann Arbor. She has just gone to a completely paperless chart, which is good. I have referred several people to her and have never heard anything but praise. Finally, she is conservative in her care - I had a suspicious spot on X-ray for years (the one that finally turned into a cavity) and she was content with the watchful waiting that I preferred. When it finally turned bad, I was the one to ask for a filling, which was done on short notice and, as I said, with minimal consequences. more

Took about 15 shots to get me numb, old dentist did it in 3! I work for a school and had emergency, they don't care still charge for missed appointments. The almighty dollar is more important than customer service. I'll go back to the ratty old office with the sweet dentist who knew what he was doing! Pros: I lived through it. Cons: Squeezes every dime she can to pay for the fancy place! more

I called Dr. Westfall's office to schedule an appointment and confirm that they accepted my insurance. The appointment itself was pleasant enough, though I was surprised at the time that they did not run my insurance card during the visit-- most dentists do. About a month after the appointment I received an invoice for services that should have been covered at 100%-- Dr. Westfall's staff had lied to me about taking my insurance. I thought that once I explained that I had specifically asked and provided my insurance information that they would cut me a break, but they were so miserably short of understanding that I was floored. I agree with the other review about Dr. Westfall only caring about her bottom line. I had a pleasant enough experience there until the billing problems started-- at which time her office staff became quite hostile. They explained that only the Dentist could decide if they would foot the bill for their mistake, but she couldn't take the time to call me and discuss her decision. The only time the office called me back after this problem was to ask me when I wanted to make an appointment for my next cleaning-- ha! Dr. Westfall is simply the best DDS I have ever been to! I was referred by two friends, and have referred many people who have also been as equally impressed. The staff are prompt and friendly, and this is the least painful experience I've ever had with a dentist. \r \r Nice facility too! Dr. Westfall may be an excellent dentist, I don't know because I haven't been a patient long, and there has not been a need for her to do any repairs on my teeth. Unfortunately, her business practices have left me searching for another dentist. If you have any problems with billing or appointments, beware. I had a problem with my bill. After several phone calls and more hassel than should have been required, I received a bill with the comment ""pt courtesy"" next to the corrected/credited amount. This was very offensive to me. The error was theirs to begin with! They really weren't doing me any favors by making me jump through hoops to get it corrected! Dr. Westfall's staff got me right in when I called with a toothache. The care was exceptional and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I even worked out payment arrangements that fit in my budget. Dr. Westfall was very friendly and down to earth. I have recommended her to all my family and friends. Alizia Westfall is interested in you only as a source of revenue. She engages in unethical practices such as forcing patients to get unnecessary x-rays as part of semi-annual dental cleanings, threatening to drop you as patient if you do not come in for semi-annual dental cleanings, and charging patients for missed appointments even in cases of medical emergency. As long as you are a cash cow for her practice, everything is fine. But brace yourself for serious mistreatment and bullying if you fail to meet her bottom line expectations.\r \r Her work is shoddy and the quality of her dentistry is inconsistent. Do yourself a favor and find yourself another dentist. This one is only interested in how much money she can extract from you and your dental insurance. more

Dr. Westfall (and her staff and organization) are simply A++.\r \r High patient concerns and support. Quality staff and facilities. Mostly painless, low-threat dentistry. Great with kids, and recalcitrant adults.\r \r High quality work, from cleanings to fillings to crowns, and more.\r \r Trains UM dental students working in UM dental clinics since she is such a well respected pracitionner by her peers.\r \r Dr. Westfall has taken care of my family for many years, as well as others we have referred to her, all with great satisfaction.
