Best

I'm not really a breakfast person but a coworker told me to try the french Toast. Best decision EVER!

Worst

This seems to be just another brunch spot that gets lost in the mix. Nothing standout about it good or bad. Just kind of unforgettable. I had the challah french toast and my hu...

As a recent, former NYer, I know my brunch-- and this place rocks. The food is consistently delish, and it feels like this hidden gem. Well... I gu... more

Best cupcakes 11/21/2006

Love the red velvet cupcakes and sandwiches. It's a great place to go for a cup of coffee and a snack. Pros: Cupcakes, coffee Cons: Amount of seating more

One of the best brunch place in Atlanta 11/17/2006

First of all, very pleasant service is guaranteed at West Egg. Second, a great place for breakfast food served with a unique twist. I'm a big fan of the Green Tomato Breakfast wrap and the pancakes with honey butter. In an unusual location on the West side of the city but well worth the ride for its food, service and price. Pros: Service, Breakfast foods, Cupcakes and price Cons: Location more

Good food, atmosphere, and value. 9/10/2006

Great Breakfast Place..... Good food, atmosphere, and value. The only thing that I don't care for here is the grits. I am from the south, and grits should taste like grits. The grits here are spicy. more

Come for the breakfast...leave over 2 hours later cause of the service 9/9/2006

I understand breakfast places are busy on the weekend so I can accept a 30 minute wait on a Sun. @ 12 and actually expect one...but to leave 2 hours after you sat down because of almost comically poor service is a little much. I'm an easy to please person and I know West Egg isn't the Ritz dining room, but as you'll see, some things should be standard for any dining experience. So our party of 4 sits down @ 12:30. Our 'waitress' asks for our drink orders and we say we would like to go ahead and order as well. She seems to have a really hard time comprehending the concept and asks if she can take our drink orders first then she'll go back around the table and take the food orders...anyway. 10 minutes later we get 1 coffee and 1 water. 10 minutes after that we get 3 glasses put on the table and she proceeds to pour the water at the table...and on one of my party. 20 minutes goes by and my other friend who had initially ordered a cappuccino still has none. 10 minutes later 2 plates of food come out and the runner asks if we need anything else. We say ""the rest of our food"". She then looks at us and says what food not seeing that only 2 of 4 people had food. She disappears as she 'checks' on it and 10 minutes later our space cadet waitress returns and offers the same ""How is everything"" refrain and again like her co-worker, oblivious to the fact that only 2 people have their food. 15 minutes go by and we have to force our friends to eat theirs due to their desire to remain polite until we get our food. Over an hour after initially sitting down the manager comes out with the rest of our food. Did I mention part of the order was wrong? Yeah, well it was, but we were so hungry that we ate it. 2:30 and to condense: the check was completely wrong, took 30 min to sort out, we were charged for everything we got and didn't get and when we finally got the correct check...no pen to sign. Ground control to Major Tom...West Egg staff is needed back on Earth. Pros: We actually got to eat Cons: Everything else more

Great Place for Breakfast but... 8/19/2006

I have updated my rating to Recommended (from Highly Recommended) after visiting West Egg more than 20 times. West Egg is a fun and quirky place. However, they are inconsistent and we have found ourselves leaving dissatisfied more and more lately. The service is usually attentive, but we frequently have to wait a long time for our specialty coffees from the barista, sometimes until after our meal is delivered. One time, the waitress stated that another waiter had taken my coffee, but it took another 15 minutes to get my new one. I was floored that my coffee order did not go to the front of the line after this incident! The food is another inconsistent area. While they have specials that are unique and pretty yummy, and their biscuits are better than Flying Biscuit, the grits are often underseasoned and the scrambled eggs are frequently overcooked, rubbery, and hardly have any cheese (which I always request). We keep going back because it is one of the only places with good specialty coffee and a unique menu, but we have stopped going as often because of the things I mentioned. We haven't given up hope yet, but if things don't improve, this will no longer be our favorite place for breakfast. Pros: Unique breakfast dishes, strong coffee, plentiful parking Cons: Inconsistent food, prepare to wait on weekends -- they are busy! more

Going downhill for brunch 7/27/2006

Too bad this once hidden dive is now a frenzy on the weekends for brunch. The air conditioning hardly helps. The staff is overseated and the wait times are high. Not to mention with the crowd and the horrible garage acoustics.. you can not hear the person(s) you are dining with. Pros: A nice find. Cons: Crowds and noise. more

Nice addition to our Westside neighborhood. 12/8/2005

A great place for brunch because of the sun-drenched dining room and the fashionably comfortable surroundings. Pros: tasty food, funky staff, books! more

Great breakfast! 11/10/2005

My husband loves the pancakes, which come with this spiced butter that just adds to the flavor. They're thick and soft, like homemade pancakes. I love the wrap with fried green tomatoes, bacon, egss, and horseradish sauce to wake you up. Add a big soup-sized mug of Cafe O'Lait and a Sunday paper and you're all set for a nice, slow morning. Only thing I didn't like on the menu is the black bean cakes - too mushy. Build your own biscuit is yummy too! If it's nice out, it's worth waiting for a table outside. Pros: Breakfast food, coffee, ambiance Cons: Loud inside more

Yummy! 6/6/2005

If you care to experience breakfast/brunch with just a little hint of ""difference"" this is the best place to go! I loved it...and am telling everyone I can to check them out! more
