Best French Toast EVER!!!! 4/6/2011

I have had good French toast before but West Egg's Banana Bread French Toast takes the cake. It comes topped with Caramel sauce and fresh cut bananas and definitely tops the list of best ever. more

Another brunch spot 9/18/2010

This seems to be just another brunch spot that gets lost in the mix. Nothing standout about it good or bad. Just kind of unforgettable. I had the challah french toast and my husband had the Georgian Benedict. The coffee is kind of gross. Wouldn't go out of my way to recommend this place, but wouldn't tell people to stay away. more

Great place to eat breakfast! 5/6/2010

the food here is amazing, kudos to chef. more

Georgia Benedict is unreal!!!!!! 3/25/2010

Must try the georgia benedict. So good it may change your life! Pros: Cool Place with Great Food more

Decent food but over-rated 1/21/2010

I recently tried the green tomato wrap and pancake with my wife at West Egg Cafe. The pancakes were good and quite filling. The green tomatoes in the wrap really didn't have very good seasoning. I grew up on fried green tomatoes, and everyone I talked to told me to try this place. I just really wasn't impressed. One of the managers actually started yelling at our server in the kitchen, but it was loud enough to hear. It might have just been a bad day when we came, But I won't be eating there any time soon more

Great brunch and coffee spot 3/12/2009

This is a neighborhood spot for me and I really love the service and the great coffee shop style vibe. They have a great selection of coffees to choose from and their breakfast dishes are varied and affordable. I really appreciate that they offer very traditional as well as more creative breakfast options. The service is always friendly. I brought cupcakes to a client meeting instead of standard donuts and they were thrilled. Pros: Great Breakfast, Affordable, Friendly Service more

Brunch was great. But where's the cupcakes? 10/18/2008

Brunch was delicious. I had the french toast and a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. I must say that the biscuits are some of the best I've ever had. I was a little disappointed to find out that they were out of the cupcakes I had heard so much about. I wasn't too pressed about it, but my girl insisted we come back the next day (Sunday) a little earlier to try to get one. On Sunday I got the banana bread french toast which was just as good as the regular french toast but a little heavier. This time we were lucky enough to get there while there were still 3 cupcakes left. My girl had our waitress reserve them for us, but apparently the message didn't get delivered and another waitress sold them to a different table. Cupcakes aren't really my thing so it didn't matter much to me, but my girl was upset... needless to say, it was a little harder for me to get the cupcakes after we got home. more

Yummy Brunch! 4/23/2008

I stopped by around 12:30 on a Saturday with a friend. We were seated within 10 minutes but it did take a little while to be seen to by our waiter. We both ordered a menu special that consisted of egg and turkey chorizo. It was very tasty as was our sweet tea. Portion and price were reasonable as well. I was hoping to try the Coca-Cola cupcake but they were all out by the time we got there. Same with the chocolate chip cookies. However, the red velvet cupcake we tried was delicious. The icing was buttery and the cake was moist. I guess next time we'll try to get there a bit earlier so we can try the others before they run out! The only real negative I have is that the parking was valet and I prefer to hang onto my keys if possible..personal quirk. We parked a few blocks away and walked. Maybe after the massive construction happening all around it is over the parking problems with be over, too. Pros: Great cupcakes, cute atmosphere Cons: Parking's a mess more

Rude Server 2/13/2008

I came in for lunch today and to pick up my dozen assorted cupcakes. My lunch went very well and the food was delicious; however, the service at the counter to pick up my cupcake order was HORRIBLE! more

Hands Down Best Cupcakes in ATL 2/4/2008

The Coca Cola cupcakes are yum! I've ordered these for parties and get-togethers and they are always a crowd pleaser! Pros: great food, great serivice Cons: parking can be difficult; wait is long more

Best grits, great biscuits, oatmeal and OJ, and cupcakes too! 1/5/2008

West Egg has been a welcome addition to West Midtown. The food quality and value is great. Serving breakfast and lunch to a hip, local, artsy crowd with kids. Customers are diverse and have discovered West Egg is a small haven for patrons with kids. It wasn't always this way, but has become more so as of lately. Therefore, as I prefer a quieter, more adult atmosphere I no longer frequent West Egg but do adore their grits and appreciate their selection. The basics of omelettes, biscuits, benedicts, etc. along with pork, turkey or soy options, with specials which usually include a Mexican inspired breakfast burrito, to caesar and teriyaki salads and unqiue sandwiches makes this eatery a happy medium for all. Making the experience all that cheery is their homemade cookies and cupcakes! Service is good, food is great and prices are fair. The nearby construction of the White Provisions complex makes parking difficult. Off street parking available around the corner on Brady. Pros: menu options, grits, location, value Cons: wait can be long as w/ any breakfast joint, parking more

Great biscuits! Very pleasant early morning experience 10/7/2007

I'm typically terrible at getting up at a reasonable hour in the morning, but this morning I managed to be up on my feet by 6:30am. That's cause for celebration! I went looking for somewhere to eat. I was heading to Waffle House, but I noticed West Egg and decided to give it a shot. I was very pleased. more

Best Breakfast/Brunch On The Westside! Yummy Fried Green Tomato Wrap! 6/11/2007

So many great choices in the ATL for Sunday Brunch. West Egg has now joined the ranks of Java Jive, Crescent Moon and Ria's Bluebird. And the prices are just amazing compared to other Brunch options. Hands down, for me, it's the Fried Green Tomato Wrap-Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Horseradish Dill Cream and Cheese. This is pure new age Southern Breakfast nirvina. The gourmet coffees are terrific. My brunch companions love the Buttermilk Pancakes w/Spicy Honey Butter. And that Piemento Cheese and Bacon Omelette. Again, the prices are right on! Pros: New Age Southern Breakfast! Great Prices & Taste! more
