#3687 We have been bringing our lab, Maggie, to West Chester Pet Resort for about a year. Initially Maggie came primarily for the socialization with other dogs, but she benefits from the additional activities and exercise to keep her a healthy weight. She LOVES visiting twice weekly (and the occasional vacation while mom and dad are away), and the staff always welcomes her in a warm and friendly manner. The facility is very clean and offers a variety of services. I also like that the vet is right on site just in case of an emergency or to provide regular check-ups. Great place!!! Great staff!! more

#1947 My two dogs LOVE this place. Usually when I leave my dogs somewhere they try to follow me out the door and don't want me to leave them. But, when I bring my dogs here they almost forget that I'm there--so anxious to go play! Plus, one of my dogs is sweet, but very badly behaved (I've tried to train him, but he's just so excitable). The staff here is so patient and kind to him. I highly recommend them.\r more

#0311 Molly our four year old Boerboel has been going to daycare and occationally an overnight visit since she was 16 weeks old. Great staff, very clean facility, on-site vet and very nice outdoor play area. Molly receives plenty of affection from staff and is always worn out at the end of her visit. Highly recommended if you want peace of mind knowing your dog is being well taken care of. more

(#9918) I've been taking my dog, Shelby, here for daycare since she was 6 months old, she is now 2-1/2. She goes 3 days a week and she loves to play with the other dogs, she is always very excited to go. Since she sees Dr. Lyne for her vet care, they are great about keeping me updated about whatever booster/test she needs and everything gets taken care of while she's there for daycare. So she never gets stressed out about a vet visit! We also board her when we're out of town and we've never had a problem. I LOVE the staff and I know that Shelby does too, she's always happy to greet them when she comes in! more

#2305 - We have been taking our dogs to West Chester since 2009. Our first Shar-Pei had special feeding needs and the staff was great at taking care of him. When our beloved dog passed, we started taking our new Shar-Pei puppy to wear him out! Our pup loves the fenced park and interaction he receives. more

#4661 - I have taken my yellow lab since he was 6 months old. He goes 2 days a week and absolutely loves going to doggy day care. He gets to play with other dogs, go swimming in the pool and gets loved on by all the wonderful people there. If you have a high enegy dog, this is definitely the place! more

In response to Oh Pleeze August 2010:\r We really wish you'd told us how displeased you were with your groom. We would have refunded you your money or offered for the groomer to do it again to your satisfaction. We don't want our clients to leave unhappy. We're sorry you won't return. Please know that we do have a new groomer on staff that has at least 5 years grooming experience and all of our clients seem to be quite pleased with her grooming skills. more

7408\r I have taken my two ""puppies"" (they're more like monsters!) there for doggy day care for the past few months now. I am a VERY protective owner and have searched and tried out many other day cares. This one was by far the best. The staff has always been nothing but nice and they even go as far as helping me take my 60lb puppies in for me since i'm expecting and can't handle both of them when they get as excited as they do once they arrive. One of my fur babies has pancreatitis and needs to have 3 small meals instead of 2 big ones and they were very understanding and make sure both dogs get fed lunch every day. I drive 30 minutes to and from to take my dogs here because I trust they are being cared for and spoiled. I have not tried out their boarding so cannot comment on that but as for their day care I am very pleased! The only thing I do wished they had is an indoor play area where the dogs could play when it's cold/wet outside. But other than that I think they're doing a great job! more

First and foremost - we are a military family. Our 8 year old dog has been boarded several times and is no stranger to the whole boarding process. That being said - my husband and I will NEVER use this boarding facility again.\r \r We dropped our dog off for a long weekend and when we picked her up on Monday afternoon the woman behind the desk fielding questions did not seem to know much about our dog's stay. We asked how our dog did and typically in pet resorts they are very quick to give you a run down of how your animal did (ie if they didn't eat much, if they played a lot etc.). The woman was clueless about how our dog spent her time. Our dog also had a vet visit that included blood work and when the paperwork was handed to us there were abnormalities noted yet nobody could explain what they were. We were told to leave our phone number and the vet would contact us that night - which never happened. I had to call back, annoyed, the next day seeking clarification. Also, nobody said a word about the blood work that was done, I had to seek those results out myself also.\r \r The worst part of this experience was when we were leaving. We waited for the boarding staff to bring our dog out to us and when they appeared they stuck out a very large black plastic bag full of our dog's bedding that was covered in dog excrement. Never. In my life. Have I paid to board my animal and been handed back soiled bedding. How long was she without her bedding? Why didn't they clean this for us? More importantly - my dog was crate trained and has NEVER, and I repeat NEVER pooped on her bed or blankets. Did someone just not let my dog out? Because I paid $250 to make sure my dog was let out while I was gone over the weekend but here I am getting handed dog poop covered beds and blankets. Worst part? We had to stuff the dog poop covered bedding into our SUV which was full of snow gear from our weekend. But that's not it. We carried her bed out to the car as well as the bag full of poop and her bed was SOAKED in urine. I feel as though this boarding facility never let my dog use the restroom.\r \r If I would have wanted my dog to poop and pee all over herself and her bedding then I would have locked her in my house and left her alone for 3 days. I'll never spend my money in this boarding facility ever again. more

Was talking to them about Day Care and Boarding and took my rescue dog over for a visit. It was very loud, impersonable and busy. No one greeted me and one of the dogs in the lobby bit my dog in the face, she was a bag of nerves already and that made my poor girl backpedal out of there (with me right behind) and we have not been back. The posted photos on here do not give you any behind the scenes looks...I would definitely require a back room tour prior to using them. more

Our little Maltese, Annie has been going to West Chester Pet Resort since it opened. She is 5 years old now and still gets excited when we take her for a day of daycare. Rarely is she not greeted by name (maybe once this happened), but she loves going. They are sweet enough to keep her bed so she has her stuff. When we get there during outside play time, she is rollicking with her buddies in the small dog play area. Larger breeds have a huge area to run and play in. All have the luxury of a swimming pool in warmer weather to fetch balls from and just play. Being a Maltese, Annie is very difficult to groom. She comes from grooming looking beautiful. Even hair cuts with no clumps of hair missing which has happened at other groomers we've used. Instructions on our preferences are always honored. Please give these guys a test. They are the best! more

Very friendly and care about your pets 1/28/2011

Four years ago I rescued the loudest, most obnoxious Boxer in the world named Rocky. I work from home and needed an occasional break from my boy and found Westchester Pet Resort. They are amazing! They helped me socialize Rocky with their classes, even working with him when he was at their daycare facility 3 or 4 times a week. He was able to run, play and socialize with other dogs off-leash. He must've loved it because when I'd pull into the parking lot, he'd start getting excited and couldn't wait for Eric or David to take him outside! I felt that the people there cared almost as much for Rocky as I do. I started doing a small bit of traveling and had to board him almost weekly for a few months and never once felt bad taking him there. I felt the daycare/boarding/class prices were more than reasonable for the services they offer. The staff knew us both by name and did everything they could to make sure both Rocky and I were happy about his stays there. I've since moved to NY and even a year later, I got an email from one of their staff asking me how Rocky is doing in his new city. No doubt about it, if I were still in Chester, Rocky would be there right now! more

Very Bad Quality Grooming 8/2/2010

When I picked my dog up after he was groomed here, I was very disappointed in the extremely sloppy, low quality of the grooming...........His ears were still dirty, his nails weren't clipped, and he didn't smell very clean, either...... The haircut was choppy and uneven, like a beginner had done it. I was very dissatisfied, but I paid and didn't say a word... I will not be coming back here, and I wouldn't recommend West Chester Pet Resort to anyone Cons: low quality haircuts more
