Wells Discount Liquors is a great place to shop for all of your beer, wine, and spirits needs. They have a particularly good wine selection--and even more important for those of us who aren't oenologues, a great staff that is always willing to offer recommendations. From pairing wines with Thai food to hamburgers, I've never been disappointed with their recommendations. A recent expansion of their parking lot makes Wells an even better place to shop. more

Wells is one of the best liquor stores in Baltimore expecially for wine. The owners and employees know so much about wine and the proper food pairing. I always try a new wine when I'm here. Parking is okay, but don't worry about carrying your order to your car, they are always there to assist. They aren't open on Sundays so beware... more

The employees at Wells are always willing to go the extra mile. They will help you find that perfect wine or spirit and offer suggestions. If you're looking for something they don't have in stock, they'll order it for you. They'll pack your purchases well and help you carry them to your car. If, like me, you have a hard time finding the selection of beers and wines and occasional bottles of single malt scotch or small batch bourbon that you really want close to home, or you have the good fortune of living in Towson, Wells Discount Liquors should be your store of choice. Quite simply, they have everything. They have an amazing selection of imported beers from all over the world, including some great Belgian lambics, and almost every American microbrew I’ve ever heard of. They have quite a few of the rarer (and better) brands of various liquors. Their specialty is wines, though—they have an enormous selection from all over the world of every type of wine, and a great staff to help you make a selection that is both good and in your price range. Overall, their prices are very good—beers are about the same as anywhere, but the wines and liquors are less expensive than you’d expect for the quality you are getting. The store also has a deli in the back that is pretty good, so it’s a nice place to stop for lunch if you work in Towson. more
