This community is beautiful. Want to watch the sunset? No worries, the beach is just a few minutes walk. It is a wonderful place for families. But what makes this community wonderful are the friendly staffs, especially Eyvonne Ortiz from the Maintenance Department. She has outstanding customer service, always going above and beyond to make sure that issues are resolved. She made it her priority to make make sure work orders were completed, and that residents were satisfied before she close it out. If you hear her voice on the other side of the phone line or her face is the one smiling back at you, don't worry, she will worry for you. Truly excellent support! more

One BIG ISSUE I DO HAVE IS . . . . THE ELECTRIC BILL - we have had a $100 utilitiy bill for 10 days use of water & electric . . . . then it jumped to a $750 bill for 28 days of the water & electric . . . what I do not understand is the fact that we have no meters that they can show you the usage from beginning to end they keep saying the readings are sent electronically to the billing company yet you don't pay the billing company you pay the Waterfront at Pu'uloa for it . . . Just doesn't make any sense . .\r \r Its been really a run for our money since we moved in here. We have had many issues with our unit since we moved in . . Day 2 while still moving things into our home overnight the sewage backed up into our home due to underground pipes which had roots growing into them. . . Yes the Emergency plumber cam out within less than 15 min. of course they have 24 hour house keeping service to clean up spills like this unfortunately they couldn't be reached that night . . Also we had a long list of items that needed to be fixed within our home . . . But we are currently getting them addressed still til today . . . I can Honestly say that the Maintenance dept. at Waterfront at Puuloa has been a great deal of help in addressing things needing to get done now . . . . Eyvonne has been great with getting back to us in a timely manner she has been able to get numerous things accomplished when dealing with our unit we live in . . . . .We do enjoy the beach access which is awesome & never to busy or crowded . .. The gym is a great asset to have which u never need to pay extra to use . . . Basketball, Volleyball & Tennis courts are a great additive to this area as well as the security 24/7 . . . . They also have many parks to choose from for the children to play in . . . Pre-schools & an elementary school is on-site as well as a mini-mart with gas lanes for military patrons . . . Beach Volleyball courts, Bungalows, tanning chairs, grills, dog parks & a dog beach are ALL the extras which you gain for living here as well . . . It is not as quick to get to town as u think it should be due to traffic lights & heavy traffic in the mornings going to town as well as coming home in the evenings from town to Ewa . . . \r \r I do want to say that Eyvonne & Evalani really know how to handle getting the job done or immediately addressed . . . . . Thank U Ladies for your help\r more

I have lived at the Waterfront at Pu'uloa for over 2 years. I truly enjoy living here. It is a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. I feel very safe here. I am retired military so I am able to use the onsite gas station and mini-mart. The maintenance shop is very responsive to any problems that arise and generally correct the problem within 24 hours. Kathy was very responsive to all my questions prior to my moving in and still is. I live one block from the ocean and enjoy watching all the sunrises and sunsets. Like I said, this is a nice place to live. more

My husband and I along with our two boys just moved in a week ago and we love it. The community is very peaceful and beautiful. It is very child and pet friedly with a lot of extras (i.e. gym, NEX, movie night, school, Farmers Market, day care, etc.). The staff has been very HELPFUL and kind and assist ASAP as needed. Kathy showed us around and helped pick the best home for our family. The beach is beautful and in close walking distace. The price range is great for the neighborhood/beach access and we really love it so far. The gate guards also add a sense of security for us and the community. Overall we love it and don't mind the planes too much. The boys love watching them fly over and we use to live by a jet base in Virginia so we are use to the noise. Great community and I would recommend to anyone. more

My husband and I have been living at the Waterfront at Pu’uloa for about 2 months now. He is in the military and was deployed and I was back on the mainland searching for places to rent. We had previously lived downtown (Waikiki) so I was hesitant to pick a place in Ewa Beach since we had never been this way on the island before. I contacted the leasing office for some information and got an email back from a woman named Kathy. She was EXTREMELY helpful. She answered all my questions and sent lots of information. I did not want to commit to anything until I saw it in person, but Kathy did send pictures and even went to the house that we ended up renting and walked around making a video to send me. \r We went with floorplan C, which is a three-bedroom house. We also chose to get a house that was not connected to anther unit. I am so glad we went with this house. I was tempted to get a townhouse, but after living here and seeing what they look like, if you can afford a stand alone house, that is definitely the way to go. \r \r Pros of living here:\r • Larger than anyplace we could find downtown\r • BEAUTIFUL beach, which is never crowded\r • It is a gated community so you do feel very safe\r • There are lots of community activities going on (ex. Farmers market, movies of the beach..)\r • There is a gym that you do not need to pay extra to use, as well as basketball and tennis courts. (There are classes you can take at the gym for a fee)\r • They have a lawn service that does all your yard work for you.\r • There is an elementary school as well as a daycare/ nursery school in the community\r Cons:\r • There are a lot of bugs. If you go with a renovated house, expect there to be lots of bugs when you move in, when the construction workers are renovating they leave windows and doors open.\r • The house is old. Even though it has a renovated kitchen and new floors, it does seem dated inside. There are so many layers of paint on the wall, if you bump into the corner, some will chip off. \r • When we moved in our place was not cleaned. Kathy actually called people to clean it when we did our walk through, but when we got back to the house the place still wasn’t clean. Walking around barefoot my feet were black! \r • Rent seems to be varied between each house, it is not the amount that is listed on the website, we are paying $2,290 a month. It seems like they make up a price based on if it is renovated and where it is located in the community. \r • You are over a flight path, so you here planes! Honestly it really isn’t that bad. They last for maybe 30 seconds. It can be annoying but it wouldn’t stop me from living here. I am used to it by now and hardly realize when they are flying over.\r Overall, I am so happy we went with this place! Ewa Beach town is really nice, and it is the prefect distance away from work for my husband. I think the pros definitely out way the cons when living here. If you have questions I would suggest talking to Kathy she really made it easy to pick the Waterfront. So far we have loved living here, the beach alone is worth it in my opinion! \r more

My family has been living here for 4 months and we really love it. We were drawn here by the awesome sense of community and easy access to the beach. Where else on this island could you walk out your door and end up standing on the beach in just a couple of minutes for an affordable price? From my house it takes two minutes walking. The beach is never crowded, nicely maintained bathrooms, very clean lawn area with tables and bran new bbqs, pavilions. There is an amazing view from the beach of Diamond Head and the mountain range. Not to mention beautiful sunsets. \r With in the community, we've got everything we could possibly ask for. There's a gym, gym classes, running and bike paths, playgrounds, dog park, pre-school, a great rated elementary school, tennis courts, beach volleyball, free movies on the beach, food trucks, farmers market. If you are military there is an NEX & gas station. I literally don't ever have to leave if I don't want to. We have free lawn maintenance too. \r Gated with security guards that drive through the community. I feel very safe in here. There are a ton of kids and lots of grass for them to run and play on. They are working on renovating the houses because they are older. There is a high school down the road that has great ratings too. The office staff and maintenance staff have all been really friendly and helpful. more

I have lived in one of the four bedroom homes at Waterfront for over a year now. I truly enjoy living here for a number of reasons and will articulate those reasons below:\r \r The community is a very safe and comfortable place to live. Security gate guards screen folks coming into the community while additional guards on carts and four wheelers monitor the beaches and neighborhoods within the community.\r \r The staff at the Waterfront is always ready to listen and help when asked. The maintenance department responds quickly and courteously to service requests and follows up with a satisfaction survey to be sure they have met the residents' requests. \r \r Rents can be paid conveniently online.\r \r The amenities include a free gym, low-cost yoga, Zumba and Tai Chi classes, free lawn care, free parking, a 3 mile walking/biking trail, an opportunity to paddle an outrigger canoe, craft classes, free movie nights on the beach, a weekly Farmer's Market, tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts, and, of course, close proximity to the beautiful ocean beaches with cabanas and umbrella lawn chairs.\r \r There is an amazing view of Honolulu and Diamondhead Crater from the beach, as well as, an often seen submarine or other Navy ship leaving or entering Pearl Harbor.\r \r On occasion, one can observe (from the required distance) a monk seal or turtle sunning itself on the beach. \r \r The plumeria and other trees on the property are grand and provide needed shade and beauty, not to mention sweet fragrance. There are large grassy areas for children to play. There is also a dog park.\r \r There is an elementary school onsite and it is considered to be one of the best schools on the island.\r \r For active and retired military, there is an NEX convenience store/gas station onsite. \r \r Waterfront at Puuloa is former Navy housing and the homes are being renovated. Clearly, the owners are investing money back into the community. After researching many rental communities on the island, I have found Waterfront at Puuloa to be economical, safe, with a staff working hard to make the community better. more

We just moved here in October. We sold our house and are in the process of building a home, so we needed temporary housing for 7-8 months. We liked the fact that we could do a 7 month lease with the option to go month to month after that, that we felt safe, and that we could have our large dog and cat with us. We are renting a 3 BR 2 BA remodeled duplex at approx 1200 sq feet and were able to take everything with us. We are paying extra $100/month for the pets and for $25 extra per month for each wall A/C unit. Definitely needed the A/C as Ewa Beach gets pretty hot. The remodeled units have upgraded light fixtures, flooring, and cabinets. Price for rent was good considering we were thinking about renting a smaller place and renting storage. Pros: gated community, security, gym, maintenance, free lawn service, dog park, close proximity to the beach, NEX Mini-mart and gas station if you're elligible, Elementary school, and child care. Cons: not all units have fenced yard, close to the airport, so there is a lot of plane noise from 7AM-7PM, and time to H-1 is about 15-20 minutes depending on how many traffic lights you hit on Fort Weaver Road. Overall we are happy with our temporary living arrangements at the Waterfront at Puuloa. Kathy in the leasing office was very accomodating...stop by and see her if you are looking for a place to live. more

The Waterfront at Pu'uloa is an exceptional place to live. Kathy was amazing at helping us and a friend of ours, in finding the perfect house for us. We love all that the Waterfront has to offer, for example, 3 mile running trail, gym, beach access, yoga classes on the beach, dog friendly, and the ability to make maintenance request online, and pay our rent online without having to pay a fee. Thank you again to Kathy for listening to what we needed and being available whenever we have questions. more
