My husband and I have been living at the Waterfront at Pu’uloa for about 2 months now. He is in the military and was deployed and I was back on the mainland searching for places to rent. We had previously lived downtown (Waikiki) so I was hesitant to pick a place in Ewa Beach since we had never been this way on the island before. I contacted the leasing office for some information and got an email back from a woman named Kathy. She was EXTREMELY helpful. She answered all my questions and sent lots of information. I did not want to commit to anything until I saw it in person, but Kathy did send pictures and even went to the house that we ended up renting and walked around making a video to send me. \r
We went with floorplan C, which is a three-bedroom house. We also chose to get a house that was not connected to anther unit. I am so glad we went with this house. I was tempted to get a townhouse, but after living here and seeing what they look like, if you can afford a stand alone house, that is definitely the way to go. \r

Pros of living here:\r
• Larger than anyplace we could find downtown\r
• BEAUTIFUL beach, which is never crowded\r
• It is a gated community so you do feel very safe\r
• There are lots of community activities going on (ex. Farmers market, movies of the beach..)\r
• There is a gym that you do not need to pay extra to use, as well as basketball and tennis courts. (There are classes you can take at the gym for a fee)\r
• They have a lawn service that does all your yard work for you.\r
• There is an elementary school as well as a daycare/ nursery school in the community\r
Cons:\r
• There are a lot of bugs. If you go with a renovated house, expect there to be lots of bugs when you move in, when the construction workers are renovating they leave windows and doors open.\r
• The house is old. Even though it has a renovated kitchen and new floors, it does seem dated inside. There are so many layers of paint on the wall, if you bump into the corner, some will chip off. \r
• When we moved in our place was not cleaned. Kathy actually called people to clean it when we did our walk through, but when we got back to the house the place still wasn’t clean. Walking around barefoot my feet were black! \r
• Rent seems to be varied between each house, it is not the amount that is listed on the website, we are paying $2,290 a month. It seems like they make up a price based on if it is renovated and where it is located in the community. \r
• You are over a flight path, so you here planes! Honestly it really isn’t that bad. They last for maybe 30 seconds. It can be annoying but it wouldn’t stop me from living here. I am used to it by now and hardly realize when they are flying over.\r
Overall, I am so happy we went with this place! Ewa Beach town is really nice, and it is the prefect distance away from work for my husband. I think the pros definitely out way the cons when living here. If you have questions I would suggest talking to Kathy she really made it easy to pick the Waterfront. So far we have loved living here, the beach alone is worth it in my opinion! \r
