Best

Staff is very friendly. I have boarded my Bischon many times. I know he's safe, and always comes home healthy and happy.

Worst

This place is really cheap for shots and annual test. I don't recommend them for anything else though. I took my dog in with a cyst on the paw. The Doctor looked at it and say ...

We love this place.... compassionate care - sensible diagnostics.... We have two pets who are regulars - and my daughters and mom all take their animals to them. They have never failed us - even through some complicated diagnostics and treatments with my daughters dog. more

First time experience, hopefully the norm 6/22/2010

I was at my apartment and about to leave for a very important final exam when I spotted my cat playing with a spider near the front door. I quickly locked her up, inspected the spider, killed it, and inspected it some more. It turned out to be a black widow and I was not sure if she had been bitten or not. Pros: Helpful, nice, cheap Cons: None yet more

Compassionate care - sensible solutions 5/25/2010

Our experience with Dr. Newlin has been extremely positive.\r Both our dogs [Labradoodle/Cockapoo] and our daughters dogs are patients of his. [One daughter lives in Charlotte - but has kept the connection with Dr Newlin for basic care. ] His years of knowledge have served us well. He is an excellent diagnostician who focuses on solving your problem without driving you into debt. He is an incredibly compassionate man who when we had to euthamize a pet [19 years old] - he was visibly touched, did not charge us and sent us a beautiful card. more

Great for simple stuff 6/9/2009

This place is really cheap for shots and annual test. I don't recommend them for anything else though. I took my dog in with a cyst on the paw. The Doctor looked at it and say it will be ok. After a few days of cleaning up bloody paw prints I went to another vet. They agreed that it was a cyst, but they actually did tests to make sure and they decided that taking it off was the best thing to keep the dog from getting very sick due to a constant open wound. Get your shots there and then get bigger problems taken car of elsewhere Pros: Good for shots, cheap prices Cons: Don't take in an animal with a bigger health problem more

MADE MISTAKE 5/21/2009

My dog Shorty went to Dr. Newland a while back because he had a growth on his hip. Without doing any type of tests, bloo d work.. NOTHING he just looked at him and said your dog has a cancerous tumor and nothing can be done. He said the only choice later down the road is to put him down. After Shorty suffered and recently stopped eating, we took him to a different vet. They done many tests and confirmed that this growth was a HERNIA NOT A TUMOR. They stated if the first vet would have actually done something about it when it was at an early stage, he could have lived. Since it was no longer at an earlier stage, he had to be put down so he would no longer suffer. How can someone be a vet and do this? I will never return to Dr. Newland or refer anyone to him. Maybe if he would have had put heart, care and knowledge in his work, I would think otherwise. You broke a family's heart as Shorty was part of our family. Pros: Nothing Cons: Misdiagnosed my pet. Resulted in death. more
