These other reviews do not surprise me, unfortunately. It's actually sad that someone with such horrible demeanor and poor staff would deign to maintain an office, let alone a medical practice. An incredible physician I know confides in me that he thinks a good psychiatric evaluation should accompany the other physical and emotional requirements of getting through medical school. I have been to many doctors in my life and Dr. Wasserman seems to epitomize that dictum. \r The staff and the doctor will berate you for any perceived ""slights""; they seem to think they're above providing professional and compassionate care. I had a similar experience to some of the others here. In my case, some simple office procedural misunderstandings led them to feel threatened(! - I know, sounds ridiculous, and it is), and I was also grilled by one of the nurses about payment options, etc. The interrogation she led was continued by the ""doctor"" during the appointment. The doctor lost it, yelled at me to boast about his thousands of patients per year and made analogies to being able to eat at whichever Italian restaurant he prefers out of all that are available. I suppose this was his way of saying ""take it or leave it"". And yet, ironically, he took great offense to my saying that all I was there for was a simple appointment, as if to say so was to downgrade his eminence. Suffice it to say that I had never witnessed such an episode as what they put me through. \r Despite his having apparently at least once caught a melanoma, I'd have to agree with the others. This guy inflates his sense of self-worth and downgrades the patient's to an extent that is nothing less than abusive, and it's good that there are others here who recognize that. So should his accrediting organizations, IMO. I'd never before been in a position where, as a patient, I felt that a doctor was out of control; I hope none of you ever have to be either. Not going to this guy is a great way to make sure you never have to. Pros: No pros Cons: all that you can think of more

I definitely agree with a bunch of the negative reviews of this doctor, but he is knowledgable and I have been pleased with my treatment. At every visit I usually wait an hour after my scheduled appointment time until I am finally summoned to the back. Normally this would be the end of the wait but not so here. I usually wait another 15 minutes while I can hear the doctor in the room next to me talking endlessly about baseball and everything else not medical related. I over-look this because I have been pleased with his treatment of my Plantar warts. Pros: Knowledgable Cons: Wait time and endless non-medical related chatter. more

I went there a year ago and thought they were okay. They called me back this year and said that I had an appointment and wanted to confirm. I did not recall making the appointment and said I would have to reschedule. The receptionist put the doctor on the phone and he starting berating me with questions. I told him that I had to work and he started chastising me, telling me that it sounded like I wasn't really ""interested"" in a follow-up, was I?? I hung up on him and he called me back and left me an angry voicemail. What a psycho! I will never, ever go there again. So unprofessional! more

made me wait almost an hour after my appt to see doctor...asked to speak to doctor in private...he refused to speak with me without a nurse...he sent nurse in alone and she was being very contentious and said my only options where to speak to the doctor with a nurse present or I would have to go see someone else...i asked for my $20 copay back and I left...please do not patronize this horrible doctor Pros: late appt times Cons: horrible atmosphere...small dirty rooms...worst doctor/nurse ever...just plain mean more

Dr. Wasserman spent extra time with me when I explained that 2 people in my family had skin cancer. Both he and his nurse answered all my questions. In most doctors offices I felt rushed but not there. They asked me twice if I had any more questions!! I also had a rash which he cleared up in 3 days. They also gave me samples of the medicine to save me money. I now have sent family members there. I highly reccommend them. Pros: Answered all my questions, Gave me good exam more

On my first appointment there I was asked to wait in the exam room, in my gown, while he 'caught up' with an old friend who came in. On that same appointment he warned me that south philly doctors were sub-par. He was never so right. They forcefully, called me at home and at my office, repeatedly. I had asked them not to call my office on more than one occasion. They would not allow me to reschedule a simple follow up appointment even after I explained I was in and out of the hospital for kidney stones at the moment and would need to call them once it was all over.\r \r Beyond all of that, his 'thorough' exam, missed quite a few moles that fit his own description of ones to watch.\r \r I would highly advise never stepping foot in this office. I will never just pick a doctor from the phone book again. It was the worst experience I have ever had in a doctor's office. I left the office feeling totally confused and upset. Dr. Wasserman and his staff are so rude and unprofessional! I just couldn't believe the way I was treated. Apparantly, they do not allow you to re-schedual appointments, because they are afraid that you won't come back. So, I went out of my way to make the appointment. But, when I mentioned this to the girl who took my back, she went and told the girl who I spoke to, then she came back and gave me the third degree. I agreed with her, thought it was over and waited for the doctor. When he arrived, she came back with him and then they both grilled me over.\r I felt as if I was back in school, in the principles office. It was horrible. They wouldn't stop and I finally had to leave. Then, she walked me out the door, as if she wanted to argue. I just left. I was never so relieved to leave a doctor's office. I'm telling you, something is not right with these people! more

The doctor treated me well and my acne got better. The doc was big on making sure I followed advice and kept my appointments. It worked. Thanks a lot. My girlfriend says Thanks also. Sometimes I had to wait when I got there, but the doctor is busy cause he's good! Pros: doc to pro athletes, staff was nice, great stuff to read more

I WENT TO 3 DOCTORS FOR A SPOT ON MY NECK. THEY ALL TOLD ME TO NOT BE CONERNED ABOUT IT. DR. Wasserman told me to get a biopsy and it was SKIN CANCER. He gave me an easy treatment and now my melanoma is cured. Thank god i didn't listen to the other 3 doctors!! Pros: smart, knows his stuff, talks to me more

I have been to 4 other dermatologists over the past 20 years and Doctor Wasserman was the first one to get me better. He really cares about me. He sends time explaining things to me. Thanks Doc!! Pros: I got better, He cares, He explains more

This dermatologist is a quack! I went for acne and my condition got worse! If you can, please research any physician carefully before your consultation. Don't make the same mistake I did. more
