I ate lunch here the other day and it was so good. They have a huge menu while most everything is good. They also have very reasonable prices.

Best Sushi Anywhere!!!!!!!!! 8/10/2008

I love Wasa Sushi!!!!!!! Every time that I've eaten here has been a perfect experience. The fish is always the freshest and the service is great- even when I bring my toddler they are so sweet to her and patient with her Edamame mess. The Toro with garlic ponzu is my favorite and the Yellowtail was the best I've ever had. I'm going back on Monday for lunch and I'm thrilled!!!!!!! Pros: amazing sushi and creative dishes Cons: little pricey but worth it more

YUCK! 1/22/2008

horrible service, fish was NOT fresh AT ALL! SMALL hole in the wall looking place, dirty!!! and just the food does not taste good! more

Very bad service, very good fish 8/1/2007

I have dined at Wasa in Irvine and had takeout at least 20 times. The service is very inconsistent with the best being average and the worst being terrible enough to vow never to come back. Alas, I always return and subject myself to the lack luster service for the above average sushi. The fish is fresh and the rolls are inventive and tasty. If I could find better tasting sushi in Irvine, I'd ditch Wasa for good. Their location in Newport seems to be a touch better for service but they do not offer the sushi dinner, only a-la-carte. Pros: Fresh fish Cons: Service more

Bad customer service. 6/13/2007

I was very happy w/the food, however, the service was horrible..I was taking a business associate out for dinner and waited so long for service & then our food. I bragged to my associate that this placed had the best food. The employees started cleaning the restaurant while we were being served our sushi (cleaning floors w/cleaning solution w/5 talbes of customers still eating) . The girl that was serving our table was more interested in flirting w/another employee then customers. I tried to contact the manager and even checked for the owner by first name (as personal friends of mine are friends of his) and Ileft 3 messages and was never called back. I spent around $65.00 on two people. I have not been back since my visit on 06-13-06. more

solid sushi spot 5/24/2007

i just ate here last night and i had the one of the best salmon skin salads i've ever had. i know a lot of people don't like salmon skin but this place did it really well... we also had the soft shell crab and it came with these crunchy parsley leaves that were really good. i had a spicy scallop handroll with crunchy flakes but i thought it was a little too spicy for my taste but i guess that's a matter of taste. the server recommended some sushi off their special menu and whatever it was i really loved it, especially the seared salmon one... anyways, this has been a highlight for me this week after a host of terrible Japanese restaurants. the service wasn't 4 star but the young man who served us was friendly and my iced tea was always kept full... i'll definitely be back again. Pros: interesting menu with and ""special sushi"" Cons: parking more

Service bad!!! food OK not great or good. 5/18/2007

Fake Chic 5/4/2007

II just moved here from LA, close to Ventura Blvd with over 200 sushi restaurants. You can all compare restaurants to nobu, Sushi Roku, and katana, but try to understand, you're trying to compare a Mastro's to an outback. Wasa was your typical expensive sushi place with little atmosphere and a crowd that thinks expensive sushi means it's good. First, any sushi place you have to order off a piece of paper is a waste of your time. You should order directly from the chef. Second, there is no ""fresh"" menu available. No live shrimp, no live scallops, just the basic salmon and Toro (like that's so hard to find?) And of course it's over priced. But hey, this is Irvine, and it's expensive, and my neighbors think it's a good place (they eat sushi once a month!), so why not go. Pros: good atmosphere Cons: expensive and expected, nothing exciting here. more

A wsome sushi + B est hot food + C heerful service....Z..... 5/2/2007

Tasty food with a great atmosphere! 4/27/2007

Great food and fun lively atmosphere, I love it! This place is jumping with life and the beauty is that the life is being fed with awesome food and energy from everyone there. Everyone there has a fun time and truly enjoys the food, I felt free to speak to anyone about the food. Everyone is so friendly I'm talking about the Staff and the Customers. If you want to see something with some flair try the Treasure Rolls they are really different and contrasts of flavors are sure to make you say mmmmmm..... I know I have tried them all. more

Finally discovered an awesome Sushi spot in Tustin!!!! 4/26/2007

I've been searching for a weekly sushi spot to satiate my sushi fix and I finally found it. Wasa was such a pleasant surprise especially cause it's in the Tustin Marketplace so when I'm about to run errands or after I finished shopping i can get my dose of Yellowtail Jalapeno (which everyone seems to be serving now but THEY do it REALLY REALLY well) a truly melt-in-your-mouth and virtually orgazmic experience! plus they have some really interesting tapas style dishes like this crispy mushroom pomme frites dish that's awesome with an ice cold beer. I haven't had many things on the menu except sushi and a few dishes but what I've had so far was quite delicious. I can't wait to go back. Pros: Delicious food in a comfortable atmosphere Cons: Not open late enough for night owls like me and really busy... more

AMAZING SUSHI 4/19/2007

ever been to a restaurant where EVERYTHING on the menu sounded freakin awesome and you had no idea where to start?? Pros: presentation is wonderful and food was even better Cons: gets pretty busy on weekends, but they don't take reservations during those days. more

Best Sushi in Town 4/19/2007

My wife recently took me here after discovering it by accident. I was really skeptical at first cause it was in the shopping center but now I'm convinced that this is the best sushi in Irvine hands down. We ate at the sushi bar and pretty much stuck to traditional sushi but then my wife ordered some sushi from their special menu and the chef made this seared toro tartare that tasted so good i can't even find the words to describe it.. all i know is since that night I haven't been able to kick my sushi craving. I'll definitely be back this week. Pros: Great sushi more

This place is a hidden gem!!! 3/8/2007

I've recently had to relocate from NYC to Orange County because of work and it's been really tough adjusting. Don't get me wrong, I love the weather here but I really miss the food in NYC. After all, it's food capital of the world! But just the other day my cousin, who lives in the area, took me to this place that gave me hope and I was seriously blown away. When we drove into the parking lot and walked in I thought it looked okay...nothing to fancy or chic. But when we sat down at the sushi bar the magic began. She ordered most of the dishes that their known for I even added a few more that sounded amazing to me... and they were right on point. I'm definitely going back asap cause at the moment it's the closest thing that reminds me of my favorite neighborhood sushi joint in NYC... but better! Great job to the chefs! Pros: High quality sushi & ingredients, great value, sushi chefs are very cool Cons: limited dessert menu, first come first serve=no reservations more
