Warren Animal Hospital

WAH was recommended to me by a friend of the family. I dealt with the staff at this facility at least a dozen times over the past six months, not once did we have a good experience. Staff at the front desk, an older woman in particular, were very rude and made every excuse possible for their inability to do their job. Several times I called first thing in the morning for a medication refill. I was told it would be ready anytime after 2pm. When I would go to pick it up after 5pm the medications were not ready. I would then sit and wait for 30-45min for staff to prepare the medications. When my pets were seen in the office we would be there at least 1.5-2 hours, only being seen by the vet for 5-10 min. When I would call for information, different staff would give different answer. No one seemed to be educated appropriately with the exception of Dr. Zacchio, the owner. I continued going to this vet because he seemed nice and would return calls promptly when asked to. My final straw with this vet was yesterday. My cat Salem was neutered about a week ago. Over the weekend he started with symptoms of a UTI so I called the vet and left a message. I received a return call Monday morning and set up an appointment for 11am. When I arrived the staff were extremely rude in telling me they never spoke with me but would see the cat. After being called to go into the room, the rude receptionist loudly told the tech that I didn't have an appointment and no one spoke to me. I went in to the room and the male tech was polite. He took down all the information and said they would see him. He then asked who I spoke with and I told him a woman. I looked up the number and it turned out that I mistakenly called the wrong vet, I have a habit of not saving numbers in my phone. At this point he went into the back room and was gone for about 5 min. Dr. Zacchio then came in with a phone and said you can either go to that vet or talk over the phone. He was very short with me and then walked out. I was astonished that my vet was sending me somewhere else. Yes it was my mistake calling the wrong vet, however I was at their facility. In the time they took to call the other numbers they could have seen my cat, who is their patient. I ended up taking my cat to Phillipsburg animal clinic and will continue to do so. more

I love the staff and doctors at Warren Animal Hospital. They treat myself and my dog with respect. I always get the help and info that is needed. We have been doing business with Warren Animal Hospital since I was young (35 years). My dad and I took our three dogs when ever they needed shots , spaying or what ever the reason, We had very good service. The place has been like a family to us. We had to have our dogs put to sleep because of illnesses and the bedside mannor was extremely good. You know when you are sad and tears are approaching? Well Dr Zaccheo was like a family member, you know, like when your dad puts his arm around you and talks to you, discussing the process of the illness, optional treatment and you just leave with a full heart. Take it from someone who has had many pets that were cared for by Dr Zaccheo and his staff. You will see for yourself . I would highly recommend. We have been going to Warren Animal Hospital for many ,many years and have had the extreme pleasure of doing business with Dr Laurinda Wessel, DVM. I have had many dogs that were cared for by Dr Wessel and she has done her job professionally but with a lot of love and tenderness. There was a time when Dr Wessel did not work for Warren Animal Hospital and I really missed her and the care that she showed. You know the vets that are just there to collect thier pay and then you have some that just stand out. Well Dr Wessel is that Vet that just shouts ""I love what I do!"" She has a lot of love in her heart for the animals that she treats and administers medicine to. I would whole heartedly recommend Dr Wessel. It actually stunned me to see negative reviews about her. It really is odd to me. I know how she truly cared for my animals and I hope to have her treat my dogs that I love so much! Pros: Caring Veteranarians ~ Nice bedside mannor when animals are dying Cons: Sometimes there is a long wait. But at least you are getting the care that the animal needs. Especially in an emergency. more

I went here to get my dog spayed and I agree with the other person who had written a response. I never met the vet! The staff behind the desk was extremely rude! After my dog had it's post visit check up they told me to sit down. I waited for about 20 minutes, wached several people come and go. So I decided to ask if they were ready for me, or if i had missed my name being called. A rude younger woman with dark blonde hair said, ""Sit down, we'll call you."" So i waited another 20 minutes, spoke with several people in the waiting room. Again watched them go in for the apt. then leave. One man couldn't believe I was still there. Finally, I got up again, and before I could get a word out of my mouth the woman said, I didn't call you. At that point I had had enough, I said, ""I was your second client today and have been sitting out in the waiting room for over 40 minutes and have seen many people come and go, i do not understand why i am still waiting."" She, in a mean voice said, fine... called someone in the back and said, ""oh you can go"". I will never go back there again. Cons: Rude staff behind the desk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

I figured this was a good place to go, it looked nice from the outside, their prices seemed fair. So I called and set up an appointment for my dog to get spayed. I was told to be there at 8:30. I showed up on time and saw another woman standing outside with her dog. She was told to be there at 8:00am, and no one was yet there. We stood outside waiting. Then a lady with blonde hair rudely walked by us and says, ""I'll open the door in a minute"". We stood outside in the cold as we saw the lights go on. SEVERAL minutes later she unlocked the door. She didn't even open the door and welcome us in. Then it just got more wierd. I signed my dog in and was rudely told to sit. After waiting for a little while, I took my dog in a little room, where she was weighed. They then took her away. I NEVER EVEN MET THE VET!!!!! I have been to many vets in my life and I couldn't believe this. I was thinking about taking my dog back and leaving, but I figured it had to be safe. The next day I picked my dog up, thinking that today was the day I would speak to the vet... and again NO VET TALKED TO ME!!!!! A lady that works there brought her out to me and that was it... this was one odd experience. I will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN AND IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET YOU WON'T GO EITHER. Maybe they are better with horses and such, but I was really disappointed with the people and the fact that I never met the vet.... My dogs surgery went well, luckily... thank god! But again, I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! I am extremely disappointed. Pros: The surgery went well. Cons: Everything else was terrible.... Can't really say much about the vet because i never met him/her?!?!?!?!!? Rude staff! more
