channel 11 did a story on this company as they tried to rip off a 90 year old man. When the customer figured out he was being taken to the cleaners, he decided to cancel the service but unfortunately, now the company will not return his $1550 down payment. He went to the McCandless police and now Mr. Waldron is due in court. Sad that companies will go to the extremes to take advantage of senior citizens. more

BEWARE!!! Many of the positive reviews of Waldron Electric are clearly falsified and act as a facade to cover the factual negative reviews to keep up their charade. How one company can obtain so many negative comments shows their true colors and should alert anyone. The BBB's rating is not a guarantee of a business's reliability or performance. Also, Waldron Electric is not Better Business Bureau accredited. After reviewing many of the comments, I had come across a comment made by Mr. Waldron stating that he doesn't charge anyone sales tax on his jobs. I wonder if the IRS knows of his practices? Now on to the reason for my comment. My husband, who is not an electrician but works with 3 phase 480 volt wiring on heavy duty/industrial equipment, needed to hire an electrician Friday, May 31, 2019 for his elderly mother who also has dementia(this is particularly pointed out because Waldron made an insensitive comment). The day before (which I was present for), my husband had narrowed the issue down to the outside main breaker. He did this with help from a co-worker who happens to be a master electrician in residential, commercial, and industrial areas. This gentleman would not have led my husband into harm as he and my husband knew of his limitations. We also called Duquesne Light to make sure it wasn't anything on their end and that technician told us that it was in the outside main since my husband used his multi meter to detect where the loss of power was happening and it wasn't inside the home's main breaker panel. I did not know that my husband had called Waldron Electric until it was too late. I usually do my homework and I would have emphatically denied that company any work. We knew there would be a $135.00 trip fee. Usually that is for travel to and from job site, i.e. gas and for stocking of supplies, but not according to Waldron. Also, since my husband narrowed the issue down to the outside main panel, he was able to aid in the diagnosis and not much more thought or diagnostic tools other than a multi meter would be needed. Waldron showed up wearing shorts and tennis shoes. He needed to wear a pair of hot gloves (not an expensive item). He wore no eye protection, no face shield. No PPE of any kind, with exception of the gloves. The issue ended up being a broken 100 amp 2 pole breaker needing to be replaced. This particular breaker is around $50.00 and is sold at home improvement stores and can be replaced easily. He was quick to get my husband to pay as soon as he met him. He used scare tactics to get the job. He ran our credit card 3 times for 3 different amounts. The invoice never showed the "FLAT RATE" basis touted on the back and there were no breakdown of charges provided as stated that there would be only for residential, for which the home was. The total amount due/paid was $2763.00 for replacing a $50.00 part with a $135.00 trip fee. So, $2578.00 is for diagnosing (which my husband led him to a quick resolution) and a repair that took less than 1 hour??? Talk about inflated prices! We spoke with other very reputable electricians and were quoted that this particular job should have cost between $250-$400 which includes the trip fee, diagnosing, and repair. This shows that he is a crook and I will make it my mission to make sure he doesn't do this anymore more

Fixed our air conditioner the same day by doing some repairs on our wiring in our fuse box. they were very methodical and fair with me. I was please with their company. Would use again and refer to others. more

I wish I didn't have to give a star! Please do not believe this company especially if you are a woman. They are predators and not only do they over-charge, they don't even recognize their own warranty. Plus they talk down and degrade women by calling us irrational and "screamers." more

My mom was in a nursing home under hospice care and I was unable to schedule an electrician as I needed to attend to her. She has since passed away.(Jan. 1, 2017) I had only partial power for 5 days. My power company restore some power but told me that a corroded bolt at the meter needed to be replaced. I called Waldron electric on Jan. 22, 2016 and explained the problem to Mr. Waldron. He said it sounded like a big job and would take about a week at a cost of between $6,000 and $8,000. He arrived at about 5:30 p.m. and without looking at the problem asked for my credit card, went to his truck and put $8,000 on my card. No contract was signed as he told me he didn't have the paperwork in his truck. He was still working when I went to bed about 8:30. I noticed my power was restored shortly thereafter as the lights and TV came on. I thought I had really dodged a big expense! Mr. Waldron told me the following day that he was here until 1 a.m. I have to take him at his word as I was asleep. He returned a few days later to attach a wire and replace the meter cover. I checked my credit card and $8,000 was still on it. On Dec. 30, 2016 I was mailed via certified letter a contract for me to sign and initial. I was also to note that this was only a temporary fix and for another $5,000 he could complete the job. I did not sign. Mr. Waldron had been to my home twice before, once to upgrade a breaker box and another to locate a short in an outside plug. I did not use his company either time. These were completed by another company. My home had an addition put on about 13 years ago. At that time all the electric was upgraded to commercial and is state of the art. Another electric company estimated his temporary work completed during off hours to be about $860 and $80 for the bolt that was replaced. They completed his $5,000 for $1,600. He has been investigated by the attorney general's office, had an article in the Post Gazette about overcharging, and had consumer news reporters investigate his tactics. more

My senior citizen Mom was ripped off by this company! They charged her over $2,500 to replace a part that was at best $50. They are nothing more than con~artist! We have hired an attorney and filed a complaint with the Attorney Grneral the case is under review along with the WHOLE company I would read and research this company before inviting them into your HOME! more

Had Waldron over. Called, they came in 35 min and were very polite. They told me up front and did not lie to me. They only charged me for what I agreed to and the men they send were spectaculiarly skilled. Great Job! Darlene W. East Hills Pgh more

I called Waldron the first week in October when it first got cold here in Pittsburgh. They were such lifesavers my elderly mother lives with me and I’m sure you can understand no heat and elderly people do not go together well. I have these guys a couple times now and I am always happy with the service. My most recent experience I tried to install a chandelier in my dining room, I ended up shorting something and killing the power to several rooms in my house. And after several hours of trying to correct this problem, I decided to call a professional. They were able to dispatch one of their technicians the very same day, who corrected my problem and explained to me what I had done wrong while being both professional and friendly about it.
