Vision Quest, Dirty and stinky 10/30/2010

Don't let all those fake 5 star reviews fool you, they were probably written by the owner or the trainers. As a long time member of the gym, this is my honest opinion of Vision Quest, Auburn. The place is filthy and smells, the equipment is unsanitized and dated, they have limited amount of treadmills and usually 3 are down/not working on a monthly basis. The pathway to the bathroom smells like dirty socks and urine. The water fountain is unrefridgerated and filthy with chewed up gum and garbage. The trainers there are the worst, they only care about selling you extra packages or suppplements. more

Honestly Good 10/26/2010

I really like how honest and nice the people at this gym are. When i signed up they explained everything to me so I didn't have any questions or unexplained procedures. I was really impressed when i went home and read the paperwork myself just to make sure there wasn't anything they had left out and everything they told me was spot on. DIdn't leave anything out. I was even more impressed when I starting coming into the gym and they knew my name. There is nothing better than going into a gym where not only do you actually get acknowledged even if your not paying for personal training. The staff is super friendly and always put a smile on my face. Great gym! more

Corporate screws little guy again 10/12/2010

This gym is all about the money...not doing the right thing!!! I went to a free MMA class and intended to sign up for a month to month. The sales pressure from the manager was unbelievable!! I singed the papers then had a problem with my bank card. I left that day with the understanding from the manager that they wouldn't run the card again or do anything until I had a chance to call my bank and get back to him with what was going on. The matter was cleared up with my bank the next day but a family emergency came up and I had to leave town (to another state) for 3-4 weeks. I left 3 messages for the manager informing him that now was not a good time to be paying out 100.00$ for a membership that I was not able to use, and needless to say who has 100$ to throw out for a service you can't use? A week later I was online w my bank and see they ran my card and took the 100 anyway!! Being out of town, missing work and a months worth of pay, this 100 was not something I had to give. But when I called the gym, the manager played stupid and the women in the finance dept said to bad, they didn't have to give it back regardless of my situation. Wow..their don't give a damn too bad attitude was more than irritating and left me in a bad situation with being out of town and dealing with a family emergency..this 100 was for hotel and food. That didn't matter to Vision Quest tho..so much for doing the right thing and not the ""corporate thing"" I guess this is a prime ex of the big guy screwing the little guy..no skin off their noses right??? more

Great Customer Service 9/21/2010

I have been a member here for a while and anytime i have had a problem they have been great about it. If I knew I was going to be a little short when my bill came around I gave them a call ahead of time and they put it off for me. Steve, is the General Manager and hes great about adressing any concerns I have and answering all of my questions. And anything he can't answer for me he makes sure that the person who can gets back to me. I love that everyone is so nice and helpful!\r more

Women's Cardio Boxing 8/19/2010

As a member of Women's Cardio Boxing at Vision Quest in Auburn, I would like to let you know how much I appreciate this class and its Leaders, Jason and Tomas. Each week they ensure that the class runs smoothly and is both challenging and fun. We always get a fabulous workout and the class in very enjoyable in large part because of Jason and Tomas. They seem to have a perfect understanding of how to push each of us to do our personal best and to get the most out of each session. While Tomas and Jason have slightly different leadership styles, they compliment each other well and each adds his own unique perspective to the class. Whether the group is large or small they do their best to give personalized attention and encouragement to each of us. Somehow they manage to make each of us feel as if our individual fitness goals are their own, and as if nothing could be more important than helping each of us achieve them. Jason and Tomas give so much of themselves with each class. We applaud their efforts on our behalf and thank them for all they do. more

I'm Lovin It 8/12/2010

I love this gym! Its great because its a smalled family owned chain so the ownership is actually involved in the biz and making it better. One of the owners daughters has been working in the club since it opened 7 years ago and i feel like ive seen her grown up! She even has a baby now. It feels great to support a local buisness and be able to see it grow. more

Great Trainer 6/30/2010

I am a new member with Vision Quest and had a great time with my trainer John. He set me up a routine where all I need is my body weight while I recover from my knee injury. I still get my heart rate up and get to be in the gym working out. I really enjoy it! Pros: Excellent Training Staff Cons: ?? more

Good for the money, but beware 6/30/2010

I was looking for a place that is close to home and not crowded at the time I would most likely workout. Vision Quest met these requirements. The quantity and type of equipment was to my liking.\r \r Chris got me signed up and put me on a basic workout until my first personal trainer session. He took into account that I am recovering from shin spIints. I used the gym on my own for several workouts and was feeling good. I had my first personal trainer session this past Monday and I'm really hurting. The trainer (Stephanie) interviewed me, going over my goals and weaknesses. Yes, I told her about the shin splints too. My vision was that she would write a program for me and then review it and my progress monthly. She showed me 4 exercises in about 20 minutes and explained that to get the full benefit of the gym and her expertise would require about 10 sessions and they just happen to have a special going on. First turn off, upselling.\r \r Well she worked my thighs so much that I can hardly walk, 2 days later. My shin splints are also worse now than before. My goal was not to become Mr. Universe or anything like that, just get back to some form of conditioning. So I don't know if it was her lack of understanding or she didn't care. Really defeats the purpose of going to the gym if it takes days to recover from a workout. \r \r I'm supposed to have another session with her on Saturday to learn some upper body exercises. I don't know if I'll keep the appt. or not. I definitely won't be signing up for the additional sessions and will rethink my membership after the 6 months has gone by. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Upselling more

Love It! 6/28/2010

This gym is by far the best facility that I have ever been in. Between the great variety of classes and the wide array of equiptment its pretty hard to get into a rut. Plus the staff is very friendly which makes it easy to get any ideas on excersizes if I need them. and i really enjoy the fact that the cost is about half of what the other gyms I have been in cost. Worth checking out. Pros: great gym! Cons: big parking lot more

I really enjoy spending time in this gym. Everyone is very nice and I make a new friend at practically every class I attend. The atmosphere is just really great and the classes themselves are a great workout. I feel challenged but never overwhelmed. I really enjoy that after workout glow i get too. \r Pros: very friendly Cons: never enough time more

Great Experience 6/9/2010

I have really enjoyed my experience at Vision Quest. I joined in on thier Biggest Loser competetion to support my best friend, but I ended up getting to into it myself that I lost 20 pounds. It had always been weight that I had resigned myself to always having. I was so excited when I saw the pounds melting off. Pros: fantastic training staff Cons: huge parking lot more

Energy! 6/2/2010

I love how much energy this gym has! I have been to a lot of facilities over the years and thats the one thing that really makes a gym great is the fantastic upbeat feeling you get when you walk in the door. It amazing how you can feel sleepy and sluggish and then be rarring to go when you walk through the door! Pros: great energy level Cons: ..... more

Auburn's best fitness center 5/26/2010

I love the Vision Quest located in the Super Mall. I have not utilized any of their other facilities, but I'm sure they are just as fantastic. When I joined I was shown around by a nice young man named Chris who answered all the hundreds of questions this old lady had. While signing my paperwork Chris also told me that I get 2 free personal training sessions when I join and as long as I'm a member I get another one each month. The head honcho trainer, whose name I think was Zack, worked with me and my many health problems to find the right trainer for me - EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE FREE SESSIONS! I have now had one session with Amber and am genuinely looking forward to our next meeting. She was great and really paid attention to my needs. I've only been a member for a short time but I am so very impressed by the staff here and the cleanliness of the facility. Now I just have to keep myself from going shopping every time I finish my workout! Pros: friendly staff, clean locker rooms, lots of space Cons: parking is sometimes hard to find, but worth the walk! more

Kent location 5/25/2010

I really like that their clubs are resonably close to both where I live and where I work. It makes it really hard for me to come up with an excuse not to make it in for my workout. and really i know that i always feel better after I have been to the gym. I feel stronger, leaner, and energized. The classes are all very well done with a good variety. And i actually really like the staff there. Very helpful Pros: convenient more

Mixed Martial Arts 5/21/2010

I Love the fact that this gym not only trains MMA fighters but hosts fights as well. Its a great wat for people to get introduced to the sport and see if its a program they would be interested in. For me, as a girl I had always wanted to learn self defense but i never really got around to it. Now that i'm older I think this is not only a great way to get in shape but a great skill to have as well. Pros: great program Cons: ..... more

Great Program! 5/19/2010

I really, really enjoy the way this gym is set up. Its kinda funny actually cuz i have seen a few ppl that complain about how loud the classes are, but I love being in their with all that energy! You can tell that people really enjoy coming in and getting their workout on. They really cater do a lot of different styles as well with everything from your basic group classes to MMA classes. I personally am a huge fan of the Womens Cardio boxing. Jason and Tomas are the best, its absolutely worth a try! Pros: good trainers, good equip. Cons: huge parking lot more

Za Za Zumba 4/1/2010

Zumba class is so much fun! Its takes latin dance music and moves and turns it into a workout. You wont believe how many calories your burning as you grove to the music just like you were in your living room! I do have to admit that it took me a litle bit to learn the moves but thats the best thing about this class. Its that way for everyone and when you just let yourself get into it you dont even notice that your working up a sweat! Definately worth a try!!! Pros: great workout thats really fun Cons: takes a lil to get the beat more
