My fiance took me to Vincent to propose. We had the tasting menu with wine. The staff was great---especially our server, Jennifer. They played along with his plans for the prop...

I have mixed feelings about Vincent. The first time my husband and I went there was when we had excellent service and food (coq au vin). About 6 months later we came back and ha...

Might have Improved..... 7/4/2002

We dropped off a bottle of champagne earlier to be brought to our table when we arrived. After tipping the hostess to give the bottle to our server -I had to ruin the suprise, as ours never arrived. I had to tell our server to go ask the hostess for it. We all had three courses and 2 bottles of a great white burgundy. Our server was great. The food was not, very bland and forgetable. Decor? There isn't any. Plain Jane white walls, if there is any art we didn't see it. Maybe by now they have shaped up in front of the house, the buzz I have heard doesn't indicate it. Lots of first time visits, no repeats. Go to Pierre's Bistro where the quality is consistant and the astomophere is great. Or La Belle Vie. Our $400 will go elsewhere next time we go out. Pros: service good Cons: overpriced, overrated, no valet more

Cool and tasty 6/6/2002

Vincent is definately a destination restaurant for me. I enjoy taking out of town guests there as well as catching a casual lunch. It's refined cuisine reminds me of Aquavit but much less pretentious. The architecture and extremely attentive servers have never left me wanting. I was especially taken with sous chef Matthias Maddux and the creative tasting items he created. The best part - Vincent is reasonably priced. No Manny's or Oceanaire heart attacks here. Pros: great martinis, good looking servers, creative food Cons: liberal use of olives more

Interesting Expreience, but... 5/26/2002

My only experience with this establishment is when my wife, father & mother met there for my mother's birthday. My wife and I had the Alaskan Halibut and I had the curry carrot soup. The soup was very good, but the Halibut was no where worth $30 per plate. I can't speak for my folks, but from the looks on their faces they were expecting alot more. The service started out very good, then, as most expensive places when they know they (servers) know they are getting a %age of the total bill anyway, got very unattentive. It was not busy at all, she must have started on her side work early as most do. Overall we were decidely underwelmed at our about $120 experience there and I know my wife and I will not be going back even if my folks are buying again. Pros: location Cons: service, quality of food, blah atmosphere more
