Retro Gamers Rejoice 9/24/2009

Video Games ETC, what can I say. This place is awesome. I could not believe the selection of games they had. Atari, Coleco, Jaguar, 3DO, Neo Geo, and my personal favorite: Turbo Grafx 16. I think their inventory is just as good as People Play Games. The prices in my eyes are reasonable, especially for those hard to find systems. The Jaguar systems were priced at $50 which I think is a solid deal. However, if you are going there to buy nintendo games, you might be better off going to your local flea market or thrift store as better bargains might be found there. They have a boatload of accesories as well. And if that weren't enough, they have the old Nintendo Powers and EGMs from the late 80's and early 90's in great condition. This place definitely takes me back to the good old days of Babbages and Funcoland.\r \r I do have some complaints though. I feel that the store is a bit unorganized if you are looking for a specific game. I understand it might be hard to keep an online inventory of everything they have, but they could have at least alphabetized what they have. I also feel that the location is VERY hidden. It shares the building with Lee Auto Parts, so use that as a guide.\r \r I have mixed feelings about the owner. I know a lot of people have been criticizing him, and to a certain extent, they are right. This guy has absolutely no sales skills whatsoever. He always seems to be in a bad mood, not to mention he's always hacking up mucus in front of customers!! Gross!! Whenever you ask him a question, he seems to be annoyed. It almost seems like he doesn't even want you in the store. He lacks the courtesy to say hello when you enter. But folks, try to look past his flaws. This guy does a great job of maintaining a great selection of games for us. He is VERY knowledgeable, and he has done many repairs for me in the past. He has fixed about half a dozen snes games with dead batteries. \r \r So if you call yourself a retro gamer, I recommend you visit this store. It might be a notch below People Play Games, but it still rocks. Lets try to support these small retro gaming stores before they are taken over by corporate giant Gamestop. Pros: Excellent, Excellent Selection of Retro Games, Fair Prices Cons: Unfriendly Owner, a Little Unorganized more

THE Place for Gamers! 8/2/2008

Interesting review from the previous reviewer. I have talked to the owner of this store on several different occassions, at length sometimes, and we seem to get along just fine. There have been times I've been in there where he seems pre-occupied or busy and obviously doesn't have time to talk but I understand that he is AT WORK and I'd imagine there's work that needs to get done. I know, as much as I might like to, I don't have time to sit around and chat very often while I'm at work. Customer service is one thing, but the place wouldn't be nearly as cool if the owner sat around bs'ing all day instead of preparing items for us to buy and there wasn't anything on the shelves.\r \r Anyway, the place is GREAT! They have games for any system you could imagine and the prices are reasonable. One of the coolest things about this place is that they do REPAIRS! I got my PSP fixed there for $35 and it worked perfectly when I got it back in just a few days. more

Great store bad owner... 12/21/2007

This place is awesome... Great old school consoles and games on hand. Everything about the store is great except one thing though, the owner of the store. I cannot stand him.\r He seems too stuck up or plain weird. If you ask him anything he gives you the feeling like you're bothering him, does not have any sales skills. His young helpers are very nice and helpful though; they do talk to the customers and swap game playing and consoles related tips etc. I've made a habit to visit the store on Sundays when the original owener is not in. He is just too annoying. Belive me, I have nothing personal against this character but there is something about the guy that just makes you want to leave the store.\r (perhaps one of those cases where you just cant click with someone, he also does not like to share any technical knowledge as if you'd steal his skills)... I cant explain it. (not friendly would be the best description in a nut shell) It is almost as if he does't want you to buy his stuff.\r Ask him something and he hardly opens his mouth. Too bad, it could've been the best store period. \r So I give it 3 stars because of the reasons mentioned above. Pros: Super selection of stuff.. Cons: Horrible customer skills (main owner only) more
