Vernon Family Dentist (4 years ago)\r went because of pain in my tooth. I had a cavity.The dentist took an xray and determined that it needed to be filled. This was the truth. He then told me the back tooth on the same side needed a root canal. That tooth never bothered me and I was skeptical, so I went to another dentist. They filled my one tooth. They have been my dentist since.The other tooth has never bothered me and never did I need a root canal. I love my current dentist and they have never ripped me off!! Be careful I wanted to let others know to watch out! more

Vernon Family Dentists? I'll pass. I brought myself and my family here for the past 4 years. Having been at other cutting edge dentists before moving to this area I was a little let down by the old school equipment and lack of new technology... But I stayed cause I didn't know of a better one around... I'd like to tell you about the level of quality received from the dentist but i can't ... that's be cause in 4 years I NEVER MET THEM! Oh yes... I went for my check ups every 6 months... got the cleanings and the "exams" billed for it all....But not once did one of the dentists actually look in my mouth. They took x rays one time... yet no one ever told me the results... in fact I never even saw them the films. On top of that we started to get mills for cleanings which are all 100% covered by my insurance... The last straw was when we got a call after missing an appointment. As a young mother, who had never been to the dentist as a child, I was told I had a mouth full of cavities, needed root canals and teeth pulled. I was living in NY at the time, I found a dentist there who filled my mouth full of silver metal, he was a decent dentist, but not the best, I would soon find out. I then moved back to CT and found a very well advertised dentist, office open 24 hours, etc etc ... he put me in extreme pain as he pulled my teeth instead of bothering with root canals and the root canals he did do ended up breaking, falling apart, etc ... I did not want to ever go to the dentist again, then I got a terrible toothache, I found a new dentist through my insurance company and boy did I get lucky. I came across Vernon Family Dentists, and there I met Dr Mike. I dont think I will ever go to another dentist. I am NEVER in pain, he ALWAYS tells me what he is doing before, as and after he does it! I have had considerable dental work down at this office and am pleased with the work but I had some work done after I lost my dental insurance and was astounded at the costs. I had a cleaning done which took 20 minutes and it cost me $235.00 out of pocket. I won't be going back to this office. At $10.00 a minute it is ridiculous. more

They drilled out all of my white fillings, that had been done about 3-4 years before that, saying I had cavities under all of them (which I learned later was false.) They replaced these with metal fillings, which have all cracked the teether. Upon visiting a more reputable dentist, I was told that the fillings are cheap material, and the dentist asked if I had had these in for more than 10 years (it has only been about 3 years)! They also did not put the correctly sized fillings in, so they overlapped two fillings, which you NEVER do. They overbilled my insurance, and now to repair this work, it will cost me $5,000.00 or more. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! One of the dentists at the office just had his house forclosed. Going to the dentist is not fun. However, Dr. Adams practice in Solon makes the process as painless as they can. Teeth cleaning is normally quick and is sometimes performed by Dr. Adam himself, not some dental assistant. He is very personable and nice. However, sometimes waiting room times can be long. Bill Lombard is an excellent local dentist. Her office is clean and new. The dental equipment is state of the art and the waiting room is extremely pleasant. Dr. Cooley is extremely pleasant and is also very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the practice is only part time. The office is open only one Saturday a month and the dental hygienist is only at work half of the business hours. If you can find an appointment the fits your schedule however, then this is the dentist for you. PROS: good knowledge, good location CONS: more

I've never had a better experience at a dentist's office in my life! Ive been going here for years and each and every time it is a joy. The staff is friendly and genuinely cares about you. The waiting room is well stocked with magazines and toys for the kids. The hygenists and dentists always make sure there is not a speck of pain or discomfort during any of the procedures. The parking is quite convenient, and there is a traffic light right outside the building which makes merging back onto Route 83 very convenient. more
