Meat is a Must for My Meal. I brooded when my friends said they're good, but they seriously weren't kidding when they say it's guiltless indulgence! Fresh, delish & finger-licking! The Veggie Grill is phenonmenal. The food, the atmosphere, the service. The first time I went to Veggie Grill was with my daughter because she loves the sweet potato fries so much, I was leery because of how much vegan food in the past has tasted like. But to my surprise, I was so impressed the fries were absolutely scrumpcious and the chill out wings, I thought I was eating actual chicken I was like, ""wow these are very good and tasty"". I love sitting out on the patio on a warm day in Orange County, it is a very relaxing and serene atmosphere. The service is excellent, the workers are so very helpful and friendly and will explain anything about the food if asked without question. The restaurant is also very clean. Even the most stubborn carnivore will be dumfounded by the meat-like taste and consistency of Veggie Grills meat substitute dishes. Their sandwiches are delightful to look at and to eat- the food is truly gourmet quality. Their sweet potatoe fries are a craveworthy side served with a bbq/ranch dipping sauce that perfectly compliments the sweet, steamy treat- it's like eating dessert for dinner! I like this place a lot. It's 2 seconds away from my apartment and school and I have not had a bad dish here. I love their salads, especially the chinese chik'n, and their sweet potato fries are amaazing. My only issue with this restaurant is their prices...a little steep, especially for college students. But good overall, kinda hungry for it now. :) more

Not being a vegetarian and having a very large appetite, I was skeptical at best upon entering the Veggie Grill. But all it took was one sample of their chillin' chicken to convince me. I've had all kinds of tofu/tempeh meat substitutes before, and while some of them are good, none of them really taste like meat. But this stuff was EXACTLY like chicken! The taste, the texture, everything was dead on. My meat-loving boyfriend even ordered the Chill out wings, which says a lot for its chicken-authenticity. I'd also recommend the sweet potato fries as a side, and a cup of their lemonade. A great find for vegetarians or the health-conscious looking for a meat fix! The outdoor patio is also a refreshing lunch location in an otherwise blase strip mall. Pros: Amazing vegan meat substitutes. This is a great find -- outstanding, healthy food! My first time at the Veggie Grill was an eye-opening experience. I enjoyed it so much, I've been back several times even though I live in LA. Munching on delicious treats out on the patio on a sunny Sunday afternoon with friends was a highlight. I definitely recommend the sweet potato fries. Mmmmmmmm. The food is so good it is easy to forget that you're being healthy! Oh, and one last thing... the service is fantastic -- a tasty meal that is delivered quickly is a rare find -- I don't know how they found such friendly people, but it sure makes a difference and makes the Veggie Grill a ""must stop"" every time I visit the O.C. The Veggie Grill has a great selection of items with the aboslutely best sauces/seasons i have ever eaten. Their sandwiches are mouth watering and the bread/buns they use have a nice crisp crust and soft but not soggy inside. The buns are just as fresh after a day in my refrigerator. the sweetheart fries are so well seasoned and the dipping sauce (chipolte flavored) is just yummy. If you didn't know their food was vegan you probably couldn't tell.\r \r The service is friendly and efficient as is the ordering process. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first walked into this fast-casual restaurant. I was first drawn in by two things, the name ""Veggie Grill"" and the enticing exterior design. I was greeted by a large menu-wall and read some of the selections (all of which sounded delicious). The place was bustling and had a cool, clean atmosphere. I ordered the much-talked about Texas Hold'em and the sweet-potato fries. I was *thoroughly* impressed with these two savory selections, which also were healthy AND vegan. I finished my healthy feast with their carrot cake, once again pleasing my tastebuds greatly. The staff was bright and friendly, happy to suggest a favorite menu-item to a newcomer. Overall, I am very happy with this new restaurant and can't wait for more to open around closer to the San Diego area. Any person looking for a healthy, delicious meal should avoid the red and gold of McDonalds and pay a visit to the Orange and Green of the Veggie Grill. 5Stars! Being from California, I immediately assumed that The Veggie Grill labeled itself as a tasteless, tofu friendly, health conscious eatery. That assumption promptly changed after my first step inside. The Veggie Grill offers a unique environment grasping the idea of a fun, fast casual restaurant. The music, design, and customer-friendly staff gives the Veggie Grill priority over any other restaurant in town when we are debating where to go. I haven?t even gotten too the food yet. I can?t even express my feelings in words for the Santa Fe Crispy Chicken. Just thinking of the name makes my mouth water. The brilliant mixture of avocado, lettuce, and its pure 100% veggie protein patty exemplifies the uniqueness of The Veggie Grill. The menu is diverse in the fun names it offers each item. Don?t be a chicken, or Chill out Wings is just a taste of what makes The Veggie Grill such a fun environment. I am a huge fan of this fun, upbeat restaurant. i live in the San Diego area and make the \r trip up at least once a week to get my fill of this delicious and satisfying food. I happened upon it when I was taking my son for a college vist to UCI. We asked our college guide her\r favorite place to eat and she wholeheartedly endorsed the Veggie Grill. She even went as far as to suggest what we eat ( Santa Fe Crispy Chicken sandwich and in her words ""to die for fries"") We asked a few more people and to our surprise they all concurred.\r Located in the University center it was a quick walk over. We sampled a few things as my son is a huge eater. We LOVED everything including our guides suggestions.\r A salad fan, I tried the Baja Fiesta. I was hooked. A delicious combination of flavors.\r I was delighted to find out that the food is fat free and cholesterol free. \r We both were stuffed when we left (huge portions) and of course we had to try dessert.\r I had a cookie and my son had two slices of the carrot cake.\r The only flaw about this restaurant is that there is only one. They informed me that more \r are in the works.....Manhattan Beach is next. This place is heaven on earth! It's totally casual, but the space is really bright and beautiful. (They even have outdoor seating!) The menu is enormous and 100% vegan! And the food...oh my God, the food...\r \r My friends and I shared everything and we were all beside ourselves: We got the sweet potato fries, the Santa Fe chickin' sanwich, the Island Getaway sandwich (coconut milk-battered tempeh with pineapple), and the Chop Chop Chef salad. Everything was incredible! Even the salad! (Normally I would never waste my time on a salad at a restaurant---too many other exciting options. But my friends and I were struggling with all the choices when the girl taking our order told us it was a popular choice. And I'm telling you, it was good!) \r \r As happily stuffed as we all were, we were not leaving without dessert. We shared the cheesecake, the carrot cake, and the chocolate pudding. (And truth be told, I had a chocolate chip cookie on the way home.) They were all amazing, amazing, amazing. Not one bad bite!\r \r The service was great, the restaurant was spotless, the food came out fast, and everything we ate was incredible. I cannot think of one bad thing to say about The Veggie Grill. My 3 friends and I went here after leaving the Edwards theatre today. We were simply blown away by this place! The food, the people, the patio, the immaculate bathroom and the contemporay look and feel. Did I mention the food? We all had something different, and shared: sandwiches, salads, wings, cupcakes, carrot cake, chocolate chip cookies and wine. We didn't understand till after we were finished that everything we had was free of cholesterol, animal fat and trans fat. The only thing that the food isn't free of is fulfilling flavor. The atmosphere is great, i already have been there twice and it was worth the drive on the 405fwy with all the traffic. I was introuduced to this place by my friend that is a vegetarian and i myself not being one found this place great. The food was great, their selection is not that big, but its a very casual place that serves great food. Its a walk up order service but the food is taken to your table wether you chose to sit inside or outside on the patio, but dont worry there is heat lamps outside which make dinning outside feel warm, the staff is friendly there, and the food is fufilling more
