Value City Furniture

About a year ago we puchase a bunk bed from here. The 1st disappointment was they called and changed the delivery day even though the store said it was no problem to do a Saturday delivery for me do to our schedule. So we had to make arrangments to be home during the week. Then when they come they claim it would not fit & took the bed back. I did measurements after they let & KNEW it could fit. So I called & had to wait another week for them to come back & sure enough it fit! After they left I seen there were a few screws missing! Then alot of them were loose or not in properly. My son will be in that bed, So my husband had to go threw & fix their sloppiness.\r Well I though maybe it was just a bad day for them. The other day we attempted to purchase sofas. Well once again we were told it would be here on a Saturday. We get a call Friday to say it will not be delivered till Tuesday! Again we were going to be home! Then we decided to just cancel & try harlem. Well they gave us such a hard time to cancel. My husband finally told them that he was just going to refuse the furniture when they arrive & it would just be wasting more of their time. Finally they agreed to cancel it. They have been nothing but a headache! I cant see them lasting much longer with the horrible customer service more

I have been dreading writing this review, as the last thing I want to do is to relive this HORRIBLE experience. But I do it so you won't have to deal with the same BS I have been experiencing for the past 6 weeks. \r \r My husband said it best. ""I will never go to Value City Furniture again. The only way I'd ever go to that store again is if it was on FIRE. So I could watch it burn.""\r \r There are many reviews below on why this store is so bad. I will spare you every single detail, but I will tell you that every weekend for the past 6 WEEKS since I moved into my new home has been tainted by the hell of having to deal with the idiocy that is Value City Furniture. Every single week we had delivery guys out to replace different pieces because they just could not get it right. If they were supposed to bring a new bed, they would bring the headboard only, and leave the rails and footboard. Then the next week, they'd bring the rails and footboard, but WITHOUT the bedknobs and the bedfeet WOULDN'T FIT! Then the next week they'd send out a repair guy to fix the paint dings on the footboard and bring out the knobs and correct feet that the last idiot left at the store, and HE'D HAVE NO IDEA WHAT KNOBS AND FEET YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! \r \r From the totally incompetant management (Joe Toomey) and desk staff that will tell you what you want to hear and then not follow through with actually doing what they promised, to the delivery guys who forget to put your stuff on the truck and then blame someone else, you cannot trust anyone at this store. The only exception to this rule are 2 people: Lori the Assistant Manager and Shentell the Customer Service Rep. They are the ones that finally helped me end the insanity by allowing me to drive to the store myself to take the bedknobs off their floor model that their idiot staff could somehow not deliver to my house. Just the fact that I had to DRIVE TO THEIR STORE to get BEDKNOBS should tell you how incompetant this place is. \r \r I heed you this warning: DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEIR BEAUTIFUL STUFF THAT LOOKS LIKE IT'S FROM POTTERY BARN!!! It's fiberboard junk that will come dinged up and it will take you forever to get anyone to fix it. \r \r Spare yourself and buy from Ashley or Harlem. I thought Roy's furniture delivery was ""questionable"" (read those reviews) And then I tried this pathetic excuse of a furniture store. You may find a rare gem among the mostly gawdy and tacky furniture, but be warned: The delivery and customer service are the worst I've ever encountered. Yes, even worse than Roy's. The lies, deception and questionable (read: borderline illicit) practices used by their customer service and delivery departments are so deplorable they should be shut down. If you like be lied to and have days, plural, to sit home waiting for your delivery - ie: ""Guaranteed"" you will be the first stop of the day between 8 and 9 AM but don't actually have a delivery until three days later, then this is the store for you. People tell me they have good experiences at other VCF stores, so you might want to try another one, but stay far, far away from the Niles store. \r It deserves negative stars.
