I really don't know what getting ""hit on"" by someone has to do with the quality & expertise of a business. You can't blame a guy for trying. Maybe you should just take that as a compliment, & be thankful. As for another complaint I read here, if you are a perfectionist & want that level of welding, maybe you should have gone to a super-expensive expert welder, then maybe, just maybe...you wouldn't bitch (or do it yourself, then you can't complain). These are simply my impressions & I personally am not associated with this business in any way. more

OVERALL a great expierience. Took my classic 302 Falcon down to Ray and got true duals all the way back with the copy flow's, and now she runs better than ever. Trust me, I went to MANY east county muffler shops and found no one who knew instantly how to do a PROPER exhaust system on a falcon like Ray did. No one was even near the initial quote price that Ray gave me, and I was looking to go out in front of the rear wheels with the other shops. You cant beat Rays price for a quality full exhaust system. He got it done in about a work days time, but Im not afraid afraid of giving people time to do a job right. Looks great, sounds even better, I'm thoroughly pleased with the results. Ray knows his stuff and seems like a pretty cool guy, I would definitely reccomend his work. more

I am very pleased with the quality of the work done on my car at Valley Muffler, at an affordable price as well. The owner, Raymond Miera was very helpful, quickly figured out the problem with my car and fixed not only what I brought it in for but also fixed my trunk latch at no extra charge. more

I've been to Valley Muffler twice, and both times I left feeling as though I had spoken to a genuine, HONEST, and respectable (not mention knowledgeable) mechanic. Raymond Miera is a complete gem of a guy and has no ulterior motives when it comes to helping you with your car issues/add-ons. The first time I came in I wanted to have an exhaust leak welded, but Raymond told me that the leak was so tiny that it was practically sealing itself as the metal would heat up after a couple minutes of driving and wasn't necessary to have work done on. This guy is so honest that he even turns down your money! Time number two: I had multiple leaks in both my driver's-side and passenger side exhaust manifolds, and not only did Ray fix them to perfection, but he even agreed to do it for me when it meant he'd have to stay 2-3 hours after work to get the job done. Oh and he also gave me his CD consisting of awesome fingerstyle guitar tracks to listen to (and even take home and burn) while I waited for the work on my car to be finished. And not only did he complete the job in a timely manner, but he completed it to perfection. If you're looking for an intelligent, hard-working and honest person to do work on your car, bring it to Valley Muffler in West Covina. more

We had an unexpected out of town trip and needed to get an bad exhaust leak fixed before hand. I talked to Mr mira on the phone on Monday evening and he told me to bring it by the next morning at 8am and he would make it his first car and i would be out of there in a few minutes. since he had already put his welder and tools away I agreed to come back at 8am. I arrived at 8 am and he was not there in fact he did not arrive until almost 9am and then was in a surly mood . by the time he opened up and got all his equipment set up and got my leak fixed it was 10:45 am. he charged me 25.00 more than he quoted me as well. the weld was fine cant mess up a small weld too badly I guess. Pros: ok work Cons: late more

what good does this do? 10/18/2009

well i am certainly not any ex girlfriend and i am wondering what good it does to rate any business if it is going to be smeared by someone else and waved off as bogus . sounds to me like the poster who raved about valley muffler was more personal and biased than the previous post. i can tell you that i am a 59 year old man with stock a 57 chevy classic that i show often at the street events and i had bad work done at valley muffler. this is an unbiased opinion that although the young man was quick his welds were extremely bad i needed show qaulity and i did not get that. i did not find the older man rude at all we had a great conversation and he was respectful and courteous to me. i did not get close enough to the other to smell alcohol so i can not attest to that either. simply the re-weld on my exhaust was bad enough that i felt the need to take it to another muffler shop and have it re-done. i thought twice about posting out here out of respect for anyone who has a business and is struggling - but after seeing such a personal rebuttal to a post from someone who clearly had an issue and was dismissed by another poster i have to come to the poor woman's defense and say i was also very disappointed with this mans weld work . thank you willy-nan-man Pros: quick Cons: bad work more

no muff to tough? 10/18/2009

no muffler too tuff 9/16/2009

I had quite a different experience at Valley Muffler. I went to this shop after extensive internet research on why my car wouldn't pass smog. It was down to replacing the Catalytic converter. I had seen this shop for years and noticed it had been open in my neighborhood for 25 years. That is no accident. I met Ray Miera and he was extremely knowledgeable about my nox emissions problems and put my new cat on in 15 minutes at about 1/2 the price of what I was expecting. While I was there I saw several clients that came in referred to Raymond as the best in the business. He was friendly and helpful to everyone who came in and genuinely cares about his clients and goes above and beyond what is required to get you up and running again. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else and I refer him and Valley muffler to all my friends. The last reviewer sounds like an ex girlfriend instead of a client. I don't believe a word of it. Pros: excellent work, very affordable more

Bad Weld Jobs 8/28/2009

I brought my car in back in june for a new muffler/exhaust the guy who did it was the owner a guy names ray miera. i did not notice until i went to pick up my car that this guy smelled like a brewery and appreared to be very hungover i thought the weld looked a little jacked up when i peered under the car -however i had already paid and the car sounded fine. for about 3 weeks ...until the weld broke. i called and he gave me some BS and was rude so i ended up taking it somewhere else in el cajon to repair his crappy job and i was told he was a blithering drunk and the quality of his work is contingent on how much he has drunken the night before. i wont be back and i would highly recommend you take your exhaust needs to one of the many other shops in east county. BTW once i did look under the car when it was on the racks at the other shop i saw why the weld broke, this guy is a hack. Cons: bad work more
