Two friends of mine had surgery at this hospital and both suffered MRSA infections afterwards. The first one had to have an emergency hysterectomy and suffered an infection in her arm from the IV. Her arm was like jello.\r \r My other friend had back surgery and ended up at a care facility on antibiotic therapy for her infection. She also managed to get a UTI in addition. She was there for six weeks before she could go home. I was really afraid we were going to lose her.\r more

DRUGS DRUGS AND MORE DRUGS! 9/13/2010

I'm from Canada and when I arrived in Las Vegas I had pain behind my right knee. I was told by hotel staff that it could be a blood clot from flying...I took a baby aspirin and it went away, but later the pain came back..The pain again was the same as when I arrived. I went to the Valley Hospital and was taken in quickly...I was asked on a scale of 1-10 what is your pain? I replied 3. A nurse came in and gave me a injection to relax me and for pain...This pain killer was apparently 5x stronger than Morphine...My trip was wrecked as I was drug up and 3 days later still feel minor effects from the drugs...I was released from the hospital in the early morning, with a prescription of 20 Percocet..And Motrin ...I never filled any of the prescriptions as it was absolutely unnecessary ..just like the the pain drug injection...My friend that went with me had a chance to talk to a employee and was told that the hospital just drugs you takes your money and ships you out the door..I'm extremely m more

back surgery 3/16/2007

I was a little skeptical of this place at first. I went in for a lower back surgery march 6th and was greeted with warm and friendly staff and was attended to within 5 minutes at anytime i called a nurse. Having to stay in the hospital for 4 days i felt i would find some faults but i didn't seem to find any. I was overall very happy with my experience there. more

Horrible Experience 12/29/2006

My father lives in Las Vegas and his entire family lives in Wisconsin. When my family learned that my dad was hospitalized we called to speak to my dad or speak to a nurse involved in his case. We were transferred to phones that rang and rang, hung up on, told incorrect information and learned that my dad's care was withheld care because my dad was disoriented, couldn't give permission for his care and didn't assign a family member to be power of health attorney. Instead of immediately getting a case manager involved to find a proxy power of health atty my dad waiting 3 days for his needed cardiac procedure. This is truely the most unprofessional and incompetent hospital I've ever dealth with. more

Twice is 2 times to many 3/21/2006

My wife has been to this hospital twice: once for our sons birth, once for an emergency. Hospital was old and didn't seem well maintained.\r \r Birth: OK because of our doctor. Staff was non-attentive. But upon discharge my wife and son were wheeled out through construction (& debris) which was going on in the hallways.\r \r Emergency: Emergency Room, triage & nurses were awful, inconsiderate and rude. My wife was in pain and we had to travelled 1 hour from home to get to the hospital. We were in the hospital most of the day. The nurses left for long periods, gave little comfort for the pain, and gave little communication. After a long day, and test, the pain subsided. They discharged her with little advise. Later, we found ourselves back - at a different hospital and by ambulance - because of pain, where she was diagnosed with kidney stones. She was then treated and released with a successful outcome. PROS: NONE CONS: EMERGENCY STAFF, SERVICE more

Good time! 9/7/2005

I went here for surgery on my arm after I was in a hit and run. The place was nice, the staff were the best. They gave me lots of warm towels, lots of things to drink after the surgery. The only down side is i am pretty sure i woke up during thesurgery just a litle bit and then i went back to sleep. It was a very weird feeling. more

so so 8/13/2005

The administrative staff were wonderful and the nurses absolutely the best but this hospital is so out of date you feel like you are in a building that is about to fall apart. My window wouldn't close, the tv didn't work right. The building sucks but the people are great. Pat D. more

Pretty Nice 8/7/2005

The hospital has a great staff and is excellent to their patients. When my sister had her baby the room was very nice painted and very organized. If any body is going to have a baby in the Las Vegas/Henderson area they should go to Valley. PROS: Excelent Staff very kind CONS: nothing really exept that alot of it was being constructed more
