Very unethical! My daughter-in-law took her little Shih Poo in just for shots. They told her which ones they recommended and she told them which ones she wanted, not all the ones they recommended. They took Belle into a room, did not allow Kristina to accompany her. When they returned her, they had ignored what she said and gave her all the shots they recommended. They also gave her a grooming which was never mentioned or requested and presented her with a bill for $200 demanding she pay immediately. I'm so beyond furious that any Vet would do this. No wonder people are so hesitant to take their pets to the vet if this is the treatment they get. Thanks for taking their grocery money for the week to pad your pockets. more

High Quality, Higher Price 8/10/2011

Very professional Vets and Staff. High quality care. You and your pet will NOT get out of there for less than $200 on average. Owned by VCA now and the corporate "get every penny possible" has taken over. Maybe that's not avoidable these days. It's really the principal of it all. What gets me the most is the $5.25 charge for "Biohazard Waste Mgmt" that is added anytime a needle touches one of my pets. Really! $5.25 to dispose of a needle or syringe or blood tube. Wow! more

Exceptional Care 9/7/2008

We have been taking our pets to VCA Sand Lake Onalaska for the past 2 years. Our "family" includes 2 dogs and 8 cats (ages 6months to 17 years). We have received exceptional care the entire time. Our pets needs during the last couple years have been from simply a yearly check-up, to diabetic treatment (our 17 year old cat takes insulin daily), to hyperthyroidism, to major surgery of a benign mass removal ( our 10 year old cat) and removal of the thyroid glands (same 10 year old cat). All of our pets are doing very well. Our dogs actually get excited now when they go to the vet office because they receive so much attention and treats! We certainly give a 5 start rating to all the staff at VCA Sand Lake and would recommend it highly to anyone. more

Good & Bad 3/27/2008

My initial experience at this clinic was great. The front desk staff was very friendly and I felt like the vets were competent. After the first time there, though, things went downhill. My dog was given the wrong medication (thank God it wasn't fatal), I was overcharged for medication, I had to make 4 back and forth trips due to their mistakes, and I consistently got conflicting information from the vets & office staff. I thought, what happened to this great clinic? Also, it is expensive--NOT all clinics are that expensive in this area! They are the highest priced vet clinic in this whole region.\r Because of all of my troubles, I will not be going back there, nor would I recommend them to anyone. \r There are some great clinics in this area (as I have discovered) that are more competent, friendly, and don't charge as much. more

Not so great for cats 11/9/2007

If you have a cat don't take it here. The "Drs" don't seem to know what they are talking about without going in back and looking it up in a book. Plus they are very, very expensive and overcharge on the perscription drugs.\r \r The only good Dr has retired don't go here.\r \r You can learn more by doing an internet search of your cats symptoms then telling the "Dr" what to perscribe. Plus they don't seem to have a decent lab onsite and have to send out the tests. \r \r Go Elsewhere. more

Sand Lake Veterinary Clinic is a great place to get the best care for your pets. They are very caring and compassionate. They offer a wide variety of services. They are grooming, boarding, obedience, vaccinations, surgery, dentistry, and allergy help. They even offer pet acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. They are also available in case of emergencies. more

Excellent Staff 11/5/2005

We have tried other vets in the area but we found Sand Lake Vet Clinic and we'll stick with them. This group of animal lovers is so very competent and compassionate that we wouldn't THINK of taking our 2 dogs anywhere else. Personally we usually see Dr. Cheryl. She's super-terrific. She'll walk in and immediately get on the floor to play with our German Shepherd or our lab puppy. She knows we're short on cash and large on love and she sure does her very best for human and furry friend. We've also seen Dr. Kiss who was very nice and very competent also. The office staff is top notch. They always wear a smile, are laughing and make a person feel like they are the most important customer they've ever had. Well that's how we always feel. The clinic is a bit spendy....but ALL clinic here are spendy. So I guess they're right in line with the others. If you have pets, go to Sand Lake Vet Clinic. PROS: Perfect Service CONS: Absolutely NONE more

My Favorite Hotel! 10/19/2005

This hotel is my favorite hotel not because of anything special, but because of the incredible value you will find here. If you look online and get an Internet special, I suggest calling the hotel directly and asking for an even better price. I've typically gotten prices around $50, closer to $70 after taxes. The reason why this is so exceptional is because the location is awesome, being next to I-43. Furthermore, the free morning breakfast is VERY tasty. For the same price, you cannot find anything better than this. PROS: value CONS: small pool more

Decent room - reasonable price 6/17/2005

If you want to stay in a hotel with a decent room and a reasonable price then Baymont Inn and Suites is definitely worth looking into. The rooms are clean and comfortable and plenty big. The front desk workers and housekeeping are friendly and courteous and instantly handle your requests. They have many amenites at the hotel which are alll kept maintained and in good condition. Definitely a decent place to stay! more
