Pleas reconsider taking your pet here...I am so disgusted w/VCA (Bradshaw/Elk Grove Blvd). I called them on 10/2/15. My little dog was very sick. They told me $110.00, up front. No exceptions!!! So, I made an appt for 10/5 I just hoped Sadie could hold on that long. We made it to the vet. The vetenarian, Dr. Pate wanted to check her temp. I told her she might nip. Of course Sadie tried to nip her. Sadie is a small Dachsaund. Roughly 9 yrs old. And does not like anyone messing around back there. She had not pooped in 4 days. And could not hold anything down. She had not eaten anything as well in 4 days. The vet said, ""Trying to nip me, huh""?(with a bit of an attitude). She wanted to test for diabetes. So she had a young girl come get Sadie. She said it would only take a couple minutes. They had her for about 15-20. I was wondering what was taking so long. The vet came bk w/o Sadie. Told us the test was negative. But she came up with a couple diff 'plans' for treatment. Blood panel $245.00, Hosp overnight $2000.00 or more. I told her my husband just got laid off after 34 yrs w/his job. Had 2 more jobs, was laid off from them also. But, they had both called him back. I had asked about a payment plan. She said they did not offer any, AT ALL!!! Sadie was clearly under a lot of stress when the vet was checking her. So I said, may as well give me my little dog back now, so I can take her home. But she sent us to the waiting room to PAY our bill before getting Sadie back. We paid, and they, brought her to us. She said they cut her toenails!!!!! WHAT?????? My dog is dying and you are more concerned with her TOENAILS? They did not have permission to do that!!! There was no concern for what Sadie was feeling!!! She said they had to put a muzzle on her. Muzzles are very traumatic for animals. And I know it was for Sadie. Today is 10/6. And at 8:10am this morn, my husband had to shoot Sadie. She was suffering. VCA DOES NOT CARE about your pet!!! The $$$ means more to them. I could not let someone else's pet die if I had any control over it. And these vets CHOOSE to let your pet die. I will never own another pet as long as I live. I still do not know what her condition was. But, I do know she is much better off now. We could not bear taking her back to VCA to be euthanized. Martha Knoles more

The worst EVER! They would let your dog die in waiting room if they dislike you. more

dont ever take your pet here 5/27/2011

I have tried several times to take my pets here upon recommendation of a friend but of 3 visits 2 were terrible, the vets were unfeeling and cold, 1 vet looked at my dog with disgust and asked that I remove her mate who was sitting quietly in his stoller, she was one of the meanest persons I have ever met. They obviously don't care and I would never trust them with my pets lives. more

Worth Switching To 4/1/2011

After one of our un-neutered male bunnies was injured while fighting with his brother I couldnt find a vet that could see him quickly enough to treat his injury. It was hard to find a vet that would treat rabbits. I was so relieved to find this vet. Their prices were very reasonable and they were able to see us the same day. When I explained that the rabbits were a rescue the vet did his best to save us expense. Because the injury was serious, he even offered to work thru his lunch hour so that we could get our rabbit treated as quickly as possible. They were compassionate and attentive to our needs, and performed an excellent surgery. Our bunny recovered and is now in excellent health. We have since switched our other animals to this vet as well. more

Money Hungry 1/20/2009

i took my cat yesterday when i got there they took my cat in the back than a few mins later they put us in a room the doc came in was talking about what she needed and as soon as i told her i couldnt afford that all she said was you can fill out a credit card they help with payment plans but i told them i wouldn't get it so right after they brought the cat to us than sent another women in to try and get me to fill out the credit card paper i than told her again i wont get it and she said do u know anyone with a credit card i was like wtf all there thinking about is money and she gave me a paper that said it would all cost over 700 and alot of it was BS costs so i left and went to a better vet that cares more about the animals than the money! I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! more

The best Vet Clinic! 11/9/2008

This is the best vet I have ever been to. Everything from the low cost shot clinics to the emergency 24 hour care--I have been extremely satisfied with all the staff and quality of care and facilities. more

this is the last place I would take a pet 7/27/2008

unless of course you have 1000 dollars to just let them figure out what is wrong. There are plenty of other 24 hour vets in the area that care about your pet, not just money. UC Davis, Woodland and Greenhaven just to mention a few. Don't get put in the situation we did and end up putting your pet down. Pros: no pros Cons: unless you roll with 1000 dollars don't bother more

Money Mongers 7/12/2008

They used to be a great vet, now they are over priced and over booked and they have lost their touch for good personal animal care. They have always been very expensive but at one time it seemed like it was worth it. I think they have new management and have gone downhill ever since. I believe the vets are basically good but not worth the outrageous prices they charge you. It seems like there is a large turnover at the front desk. Each time I go in, there is a new set of employees I have never seen before. Animal care used to be their first priority now it is definitely money. more

Way too expensive 6/13/2008

Bradshaw Vet used to be a lot better, although they have always been more expensive than other Vets when there service was so much better at least it seemed like it was somewhat worth it. They have really got bad service now. I think they have new management and they are so cold and uncaring . My friend took her dog in for the same surgery my dog had to another emergency vet and was charged a quarter of what we were charged, and circumstances were the same. I have talked to other people about their prices and they were flabbergasted. They have new management and money is now more important than your animals care. My pet got ran over by a car and they wouldn't even wipe off his face until they new for sure they were going to get their money. They have far to many people working there so you never talk to the same person (not to mention the employees turnover). They made a misdiagnose on my dog so my bill came to over $5000. I am looking for a new vet. I know there are more competent caring veterinarians out there. Pros: Open 24 hours Cons: Way to expensive more

Best Vet 12/12/2007

This is the only place I will take my animals! They treat all kinds big or small and care for them as if they were their own! The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recomend everyone to this veterinary clinic! more

The best vet in the Sacramento-Bay Area 8/13/2006

Cami Zatkin, D.V.M. is the best vet we have found in 18 years in the greater Sacramento to Bay Area region! She is the kindest, considerate, competent great surgeon and animal lover. As a customer of the Bradshaw Veterinary Clinic, the hours of operation of 7 days a week until 7 p.m. and call backs to answer your questions and care by Cami Zatkin, D.V.M. is the best one could ask for if you love and treat your "four legged person" as family.
