Suspicious... 9/30/2010

We've taken all three of our pets to this practice, 4 times now. Each time we've seen a different vet. I guess, on our part, it's our own fault for not requesting the same vet each time we've visited. But nonetheless, usually when you go to a people doctor, you see the same doctor. So from now on we're just going to request which vet we'd like to have see our pets. I don't recommend Chris Lewis. Only because he shrugged off our questions as if our concerns were substandard, even when I tried explaining we had done a lot of research on each of our pets specific breeds and breed specific issues. Another thing i'd like to mention is that our families are located in various parts of the country, so we travel a lot. Seeing how this practice had a seemingly clean facility, we decided to go ahead and board all three pets (2 dogs and a cat) for 4 days. When we picked them up their behavior was extremely odd. They've been boarded before and have shown tons of excitement upon seeing us when we pick them up... but this was different. There was the excitement of seeing us, but they were very very VERY shaken. Every little sound (accidentally dropping the keys too hard on the counter) made the doggies tails go down and between their legs and they acted as if they were going to be beaten or something. Our cat has been 100 times more clingy than ever ever since, mind you this was 2-3 months ago. We just decided never to board them there again... maybe we spoil our pets, or my intuition is over sensitive, but they are our babies. This vet practice was not designed for boarding. more

Great service! 1/19/2009

I would recommend blue cross to anyone looking for an honest vet. I have seen both female doctors and together they had my jack russel Milo on a treatment plan. I was given an estimate before hand of what they thought should be done and they really really took the initiative to help me understand why Milo needed the treatment. During the treatment they were fast with callbacks both from the techies and the dr's. I was impressed with the kindness and effort that was put in to ensure the treatment was working. Well in the end they were correct and Milo has never been better. Blue Cross will continue to serve my pet needs and I would highly recommend them to friends. Pros: beautiful clinic & wonderful staff Cons: they are busy more

Best vet in town!! 8/22/2008

I was lucky enough to find Dr. Tack at Blue Cross as my vet for my two Maltese. Dr. Tack recommended we run bIood tests and both my dogs and thankfully we did as my youngest female Maltese had a problem processing some types of food. He took the time to explain to me the problem she had and we now have her on special food to help maintain and prevent any future problems. My old vet never did any bIood work and would not have caught this problem. I love my two dogs and knowing I have a vet that really cares makes all the difference in the world to me. Pros: Very good at what he does!!! more

Best Vet 5/17/2008

My dog almost died at another vet (Companion Animal Hospital) I took my dog from Companion and rushed her to the LV Animal Emergency Room where she needed Oxygen and a Transfusion because Companion Animal Hospital let her Red Cell count get so low she was near death. After two nights in the ER the ER Doctor Bercier (who was wonderful and saved her life) suggested Blue Cross AH as a regular Vet. I took my dog there for follow-up care and I have to say that Blue Cross did every test they could think of to figure out why my dog had an immune problem and how to properly treat her to bring her back to health. LV Emergency Room stablized my little Lucy and Blue Cross took over and now ""Lucy"" is back in good health. I am forever grateful to both the LV ER and Blue Cross Dr Lewis and Dr Tact. I don't know for sure but I think they did tests on Lucy that I didn't even pay for. It matters which vet you take your animal too. Blue Cross is my vet for life. more

I found the best vet for my pets 5/16/2008

I am a Vegas native and I will say Dr. Tack is the best veterinarian in town, hands down. He has a wonderful staff of vets and the happiest staff out of everywhere I have been. I use to go to VCA but I felt like I was just a number with them, and after the problems we had I decided to look around. Another Vegas native friend told me to go see Dr. Tack at Blue Cross. The staff was so nice, the building was clean, and you can see his compassion for my three dogs. I am happy to know that my search for a good vet for my labs is over. I 100% trust the staff at blue cross and would recommend anyone who is looking for a loving vet to give them a try. Pros: Clean, loving, good parking, great staff! Cons: Its a far drive, but well worth it. more

Very Friendly and CLEAN! 2/25/2008

We moved here from Cleveland and were worried about finding a good vet for our girls. We found Blue Cross and love it. Dr.Lewis always makes time for us, returns phone calls, and is never rushed. I was impressed with his compasion. Also, the clinic is new, CLEAN, and beautiful. It even smells good! I can not believe how clean they keep it! It's always decorated for the holidays and treats are always on the counter for pets. Everyone there is always friendly. I feel very fortunate to have found them. more

Great customer service 6/20/2007

I have been taking my animals (2 dogs and 2 cats) to the Blue Cross Animal Hospital since 1990, even when they were in a tiny office near downtown Las Vegas. I have had nothing but the best treatment: in every emergency and when my dogs were dying. They are a great bunch of loving, caring people, and the new office is pretty snazzy too! Pros: Beautiful office, great ambience, no problems with parking, easy access to highway 215, great service Cons: the new office is on the far west side of town, rather far from where I work and live, but worth the trip more

Best Vet in Las Vegas, Been in town forever,Great customer service, 12/20/2006

After going to South Shores animal hospital and being given the run around, A friend and long time Las Vegan recomended Dr. Tack. I will not take my dogs anywhere else. He is honest and will not overcharge or charge you for things your animal doesn't need. He cares. Pros: Thumbs up, He cares and will not take advantage of you even in emergencies. Cons: He is busy, but will make time in a emergency more
