Go to Petsmart Animal Hospital instead 8/9/2010

I took my puppy to the VCA for a few months and was never very happy with it. The girls at reception were nice, but I felt like the vets and vet techs never really took the time to explain what I needed to know. When I had my dog neutered, I was very bothered by the fact that the only information they provided was the answers to questions I thought to ask. I had never had a dog neutered before, how was I supposed to know what to ask? About a month later my dog's stitches still had not dissolved and he seemed to be feeling sick so I tried to call and make an appt for him but they had decided to close 3 hours early for the day! Finally I was fed up. On a recommendation from my groomer I took my dog to the vet at Petsmart where the vet was very thorough in providing all of the information I needed (and they cost a lot less too). I will be taking my dog to Petsmart's Animal Hospital from now on. more

A bunch of caring people! 7/10/2010

When my youngest dog had been throwing up all morning and my boyfriend voiced his concerns about salmon blood poisoning I was in a panic. I had just moved to the area and hadn't considered looking for a vet yet (because the closest are in Richland). I was just going to take my dogs to their usual vet in Newcastle (Renton).\r \r So I did a search and found 3 vets. VCA was the first I called and got their exam price. I told them I'd like to call the other vets first before I made my decision. The next one the exam price was alot higher and the third had the same exam price as VCA, however, they said they could schedule me in a couple weeks to come in. Uh...don't you know with salmon blood poisoning my dog could be DEAD by then? So I called up VCA and they let me know they were extremely busy but to come down when I could and they could see what they could do.\r \r We got there and I filled out initial paperwork and within 10 minutes the nurse came and got us. She asked questions abou more

Bad Spay Experience 1/25/2010

I was taking care of a stray that had been dumped by my house and took her into VCA to have her spayed and a couple teeth pulled since she had been hit by a car previously. I also signed a release for them to ultrasound her. They told me she was probably only about a year to 18 months old and also checked for a spay scar but didn't see or feel one so proceeded with the spay. They didn't call until time to pick her up and when I did go to get her they said when they got inside her they found out she had ALREADY been spayed. HELLO? didn't you ultrasound her first? Wasn't that the point? She ended up with a larger than normal incision because they were "searching" around for her girl parts when I thought they should have been able to tell before hand since they did an ultrasound! They should have called me and let me know what was going on too. They did not give her enough pain medicine as she was clearly crying in pain and I asked them for something stronger they said to wait unt more

Avoid Richland VCA 11/21/2009

I took my beloved family dog into Richland vca for a check up and ended up having to put her down a few days later due to the severe negligence of one of their "knowledgeable vets" If you love your animal and want it to be in better health then when you took it in....This is not the place to go...Save yourself some heart ace and take your animal elsewhere more

Not a place for animal lovers 10/20/2009

If you love your animal...I would highly recommend taking it somewhere else...The veterinarians at VCA are neither knowledgeable or caring let alone qualified to treat animals of any sort....I took my family dog in for a check-up and 5 days later we had to put her down due to a sever allergic reaction caused by the vet....If you are looking to keep your pet in good health....I personally would suggest taking your pet elsewhere more

Animal Medical Center has very caring and professional staff 12/21/2008

We have taken our pets to Animal Medical Center for about 20 years now and have found Dr. Harbinson to be very knowledgeable and caring. They have a professional office and handle the usual veterinary cases. But recently our cat Snowball died, and the clinic sent us a beautifully decorated cast of his paw print and name along with a sympathy card. They also made a donation in Snowball's name to the WSU Veterinary Hospital in Pullman. The sympathy and caring they showed at this time meant a lot to us and I highly recommend them! more
