I was moving across the country to start a new job in California and was stopped for the evening in Salt Lake when the "check engine" light came on in my Audi A3. I wasn't about to try and drive over the Sierras with the engine indicator on and risk inflicting engine damage, so I set about trying to find a shop to help me out. I took the car first thing in the morning to the dealer (Dave Strong), but they hemmed and hawed about whether they'd be able to quickly get me in and help me (or even do a quick test to determine if the problem was serious). Unwilling to make any commitment as to how soon they could help me, if at all, the people at the dealership seemed more concerned with protecting themselves than helping me. In no position to hang around Salt Lake indefinitely while the dealer took its time finding out what was wrong with my car, I called up Utah Imports. I explained the situation, and they confirmed that they could get me in right away and figure out what was going on. So, I took the car down the block to Utah Imports. They took it in immediately, ran the diagnostics, told me exactly what was wrong, and had me on my way in about an hour.
