We own a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac which has been a great truck but is now showing signs of wear-n-tear. We have always taken the Sport Trac to our local Ford dealer when it came to annual servicing and minor repairs. We have never left the dealer with a bill that was less than $150, so, when we started to notice that the air conditioner was not blowing out cold air, I decided to ask a friend if he had any recommendations, knowing that I did not want to take it to the Ford dealer because of their “pricing structure”! This friend recommended Uptown Automotive. We decided to have Uptown do a check on the air conditioner with an estimate of what it would cost to have it repaired. They did find a leak and gave us what sounded to be a very honest assessment of what was needed and how much it would cost. We felt that the price was very fair and very affordable so we decided to have Uptown Automotive complete the job. Since then, August 1, 2013, the air conditioner has been great. We are a 2-car family so I am looking to have Uptown Automotive take over the servicing of both cars. They are friendly, fair and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you, Uptown Automotive. more

i have tried many, many mechanics over the years on maui. I even had a few that i repeat business to, that overall i thought were good, but that i wasn't always 100% satisfied with the outcome. Finally a friend of mine who is one of the best car painters on the island and a complete car nut told me about uptown auto. Ever since, I have been taking my cars exclusively to these guys.....I can honestly say I have always left 100% satisfied with their service! I swear by their service so much that I drive all the way from Napili even though its very out of the way for me just so that THEY can work on my automobiles....i wont trust anyone besides them to work on my stuff! I can say with much certainty that the owner and his crew are the most honest, fair, and easy to deal with mechanics from lahaina to hana! I cant say enough good things about the value of their work! more

Honest and Fair - I've been taking my jeep to Dave at Uptown Automotive for 15 years. He keeps it running like it's brand new. Not only that, he also maintains the cars and trucks of everyone in my family. We wouldn't consider taking our vehicles anywhere else. more

RUDE! Extremly difficult to deal with. I tried to get a safety inspection at uptown auto for my out of state car. I had all the correct paperwork. The lady at the counter gave me aditude from the start, and was trying to tell me my paperwork was no good. When I disagreed, she actually told me she was going to knock my teeth in! What a professional! I would not go there for anything. more

My extended family and I have gone to Dave at Uptown Automotive for years. He has a great and friendly staff with Cindy, Travis and Walter. After a while they really get to know you and all of your vehicles. I have always gotten a fair estimate. They explain everything and show me the parts that were worn and replaced.
