Went there last weekend as a Valentine Day weekend trip and ate at the lower level area. I most say I was very impressed by everything, the food, service, setting, the music etc....

We are planning our rehearsal dinner and had to work with Brian their events coordinator. Well he took days to return a call or an email (3-5 days). Then when we wanted to come ...

Up or Down it's Win Win 4/19/2007

I have eaten several times at both Upstairs and Sotto Varalli and the food, service and the ambiance is darn close to perfect. The scallops just melt in your mouth, they make a killer martini and yes we have tried several of the desserts and each one is more decadent than the other. Can be a little pricey if you go multi course but when we want to economize we can get out for under $50. We love it and it is a regular part of our visits to Philly. more

Great service! Good food. Amazing view of Avenue of the Arts. Really like this place, the service is usually fantastic, friendly without the usual center city attitude (which I never understand, you are in the service industry-whether you work at Little Pete's or Vallani) great place to eat prior to the Ballet or Wilma, and even better after 8 o'clock, it really calms down. Great pianist as well. If you haven't been in awhile try it out again. more

Upstairs at Varalli's 12/31/2006

For a special occasion like New Years, you definately need to have a special dessert. My favorite indulgence has to be tiramisu. The best I've tasted, and I've had alot, has to be from Upstair's at Varalli's. I haven't anything else besides the tiramsu there. They've mastered the perfect combination of flavors of espresso, liquer, mascarpone cheese, and cream. It is blended together without any one flavor overpowering the others. Uhmmm! more
