Stylist Priscilla Jennings is excellent! \r I went to see Priscilla back in September of this year because one of my friends told me she did an excellent hair cut and coloring for her. I have been back to see her two more times since then …. and I have my next appointment to see her again in December. She cut and colored my hair… I LOVE IT! She is super nice, laid back and can talk about movies all day :) I recommend her services.. you will not be disappointed.\r more

I went to Up Close Beauty Max because i was looking for a place because my hair really needed a haircut i had alot of split end and my hair was bad, my friend and i went to the salon and Priscilla Jennings helped us on what we needed to do to with our hair and what she recommended us with a good hair style...I love my hair right now i am going to go back with her so she can recommend me with a good hair color , she is great and professional i already told all my friends to go with her if they ever needed a haircut of change of color.. more

Stylist Priscilla Best Colorist! 2/1/2012

I went to see Priscilla Jennings on a recommendation of a friend for corrective color. Priscilla was very professional, identified the problems with my color and corrected them. I went from a brassy, dry, flat color to an awesome blonde with highlights. She made my hair look EXACTLY like the picture she showed me before the process. She gave me a color that complimented my skin tone and eye color. She listens to her clients and gives you her frank opinion. I came to her looking for advise and help with my hair and she exceeded my expectations. more

Chemical Peels 11/18/2011

I am an African-American female that was told by my dermatologist that checmical peels are too harsh for black skin. I also have sensitive skin. However, Michelle at Upclose Beauty, Max used a gentle Glycolic peel combined with a milk-based mask. It has not damaged my skin at all. It is the most gently chemical peel you can get. True, it is not as effective as traditional chemical peels that people of other races can take, but it is worth it for African-American skin to take the gentle approach and just have more chemical peels than average to reach the same results. If your skin is really bad like mine, you will probably need at least 9 to have permanent, deep results. Right now, I am on my fourth one and the dark spots have significantly approved in my face. more

The best salon with the best staff 9/22/2011

The day I walked into Upclose Beauty, Max was a total God send for me. I could never find someone that could cut, color, and style my hair like Gene. He is the best hairdresser I've ever been to. He is very attentive, funny, and out going. He really make you feel like your the only customer in the place. The salon is very up beat and everyone is having a good time and they make you feel like family. I'll never go anywhere else. They are a one stop salon, you can have a manicure/pedicure, get a massage, facial, great hair stylist. It just doesn't get any better than this. Thanks so much. more

Michelle invited me to come to her salon - I am her sister's (Thu) mother-in-law. She wanted to straighten my hair for me. Little did I know what a fantastic day I would have!!!! From beginning to end, I felt like I was queen for a day! If you just received the fantastic service that would suffice, but the friendly staff and fun atmosphere make it a place you will want to visit often!!! If you want great treatment and fantastic hair care look no further! I live in Kingwood and believe me, the drive is worth it! Michelle is the best hair stylist! 8/6/2011

Michelle has been cutting, highlighting, and styling my hair for years. I always love the way it turns out and she gives me a lot of great ideas and options. Michelle is also a fun and wonderful person. I recently brought in an orphaned girl and she was treated like a princess for a day! My little friend was shy at first, but smiled big time when she saw her hair styled. Michelle always goes above expectation. She gave my little friend cute hair supplies that made her smile big for weeks. Thank you, Michelle!! more

Fantastic FULL-Service Salon! 8/3/2011

I have been battling acne for over 10 years and for the first time that I can remember, I felt comfortable not wearing makeup after my visits at UpClose. I received 3 microdermbrasions and an acne facial which was heaven!!! I bought a couple of products that Michelle personally recommended (I asked if I could only get one product, what she would suggest.) The salon has a great location and offers hair, nail, and face care; and not just the basics but all kinds of facials and extensions! The only thing that I would say is that they would overbook so I was always getting my facial done with someone else too but I didn't mind too much at all. If you battle acne, I would recommend getting several dermbrasions and HIGHLY recommend the acne facial right after them. It won't work fully if you only go once. UpClose has restored so much confidence in myself.. Thank you Michelle! more

Everything you need is here!!!! I recently started going to Marlet for eyelash extensions. She need a GREAT job!!! After going to several times I decided to have hair extensions done by her. All I can say is she is THE BEST!!!!!! This was my first time having extensions and it turned out perfect :) She is wonderful at what she does!!!! This place has the friendly atmosphere and great prices!!!! more

I've been going to UpClose Beauty Max for years and have always received wonderful Hair, Nail, Spa services. The atmosphere is fun and the salon is ultramodern with emphasis of providing the latest in salon services. What I love the most is the friendly staff that always make you feel at home and know how to take care of their customers. :) I highly recommend this salon!!! more

EYE LASH EXTENSIONS 2/2/2011

I recenlty went to Up Close Beauty for eye lash extensions with Marlet.SHE WAS WONDFERFUL AND MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS WERE DONE BEAUTIFULLY!!! The price was more then reasonable. I called several places and was told $200-250 for individual lashes! I paid way less then that and was more than happy when I left. I highly recommend Marlet!!! more

Very Happy with My Make Over - THANK YOU 1/27/2011

First let me say ""Thank you Priscilla"". My sister Naomi told me about tUp Close Beauty Max. She gave it great reviews. You see I needed to find a place that I would feel comfortable to assist me in my next phase with my hair. After 5 years of growing my hair, it was time to have it cut. Of course the hair has been donated to Locks of Love (I am 5 years cancer free !!). So, I put my hair in the hands of Priscilla. I can not tell you how happy I am with results. The cut and the hi-lites are great and as natural as can be. This place is the best. Everyone that works there are warm and very friendly. This is the place for me !! more

Best Beauty Salon in Town! 1/21/2011

This place was great, Michelle is wonderful. I went in for a facial treatment and she went above and beyond and my skin looks great! She did a microdermabrasion, used the blue uv light, and did a moisturizing mask, my skin felt amazing. Also Michelle is so full of life and great to talk to. She only uses her clients as models and I think that is a great marketing tool using regular people. She even invited me to a hair show she will be doing at the Reliant. The staff is super friendly, the place is sparkling clean, I mean perfect you couldn't find anything wrong with it. The decor is rexlaxing and contemporary and they treat you like you're one of their best customers even on your first visit. I highly recommend this salon for all your beauty needs. Thanks Michelle and team! I'll be back again soon. :) more

CHI Transformation....... 1/17/2011

Michelle has been doing the Chi transformation on my hair for years and she's perfected the entire process! I have naturally curly hair and get permanent results with the transformation. It leaves my hair beautifully straight but it still has body. The best part is, this is a completely weather- proof process....Rain, Humidity, NO PROBLEM! The process isn't harsh and has no awful smell. The entire staff is awesome and you won't be disappointed!!! more

I would not go anywhere else. I have been going to Up Close Beauty Max for a few years. Priscilla has always done my hair and does an amazing job each time. Expert stylist & color. Michelle is also an expert stylist & can take care of your skin care needs. I recommend the microdermabrasion treatments. I started to get compliments on my skin after just one visit. These ladies handled my hair and makeup for my wedding and for my sister’s wedding. And the results did not disappoint. I always leave a 110% satisfied customer and so will you! up close beauty max is a really good place to go. They have great prices and know what they are doing. Michelle Mai has been doing my hair everytime i go, she is very friendly always talks to me as if she knows me my whole life! She always gives me great options for what would look best for my hair and they always look great. i went this last monday when they were closed and she still did my hair with no problem. i am the most pickiest person on who touches my hair but Up Close Beauty Max is AMAZING and you should all try it <3 more

Best Color!! 1/5/2011

\r Stylist Priscilla did my hair awesome. I told her what I wanted it colored and she told me what would work with my complextion and what color would hold. She did blonde and red highlights. I literally had people stop me on the street and ask where I got my hair done. \r Just hanging out there while getting my hair done was a blast. All the people that work there are laughing and having fun. \r I will continue going there!! \r more
