Dr. Reed and his staff really care! Dr. Reed recently opened Reed Animal Hospital at this site. Previously running his long time business at Lawrence Pet Hospital and Bascom Animal Hospital, he has taken wonderful care of both of my precious Rottweilers and has been our vet since 1996. His gentle and friendly bedside manner lends to a calmness in the animals he treats; the animals trust him. He takes his time with his patients, listens to your concerns, and remembers. If you listen you will learn tons as he gives great detail of the issue, options and solutions. Rosie at the front desk and the rest of his staff will always greet you with a smile. They remember their patients which makes the visit to the vet a pleasant experience. In the case of an emergency, don't mistake their calmness for not caring; on the contrary, I've seen them working in the back. Trust them, THEY KNOW what they are doing. Unlike most veterinarian offices, Dr. Reed bases his business with his patients and their loved ones in mind. He goes above and beyond to meet their specific needs. more

Stay Away 8/1/2009

I would give it zero stars if it were an option. Our 10 year old dog contracted parvo. Our regular vet went home to Gilroy after seeing us. My wife did not want our dog hospitalized, so our doctor inserted a catheter, gave us specific instructions on the catheter, and let us take her home. The catheter clogged, so we called this place and they said they would fix it for about $25. The tech came in, and said the catheter was plugged and needed to be replaced - no kidding, think that is why we were there. We were told that they catheter for the intravenous drip could not be replaced unless we admitted the dog - $105 step 1. They then said they needed to do a parvo test (10 minutes) - $85 step 2. While waiting, we are shown a low and high bill between $1800 and $2600. All we want is the damn catheter for the IV replaced. Finally they come back and say hey - your dog has parvo - no kidding, we knew that. By the way, we won't put a new catheter in unless you hospitalize the dog with us for 2 to 14 days ($3000+ ch-ching) I said, "" you took the catheter out, and said you wouldn't put it back in unless we admitted the dog' - i don't want to hospitalize the dog here, i want to take it back home. please just put in the catheter and we'll be going home."" The vet refused to do it. Bottom line - they could care less about your pets - they only want your money. Stay away from this place. Might be a shiny new building, but there is a reason why they have such a nice place - they are holding you hostage at the expense of your pet's welfare, pretending to know better than you. Talk about arrogance. Bad news, bad place, bad experience. Stay away from United Emergency Animal Clinic. I have several witnesses to corroborate this story. Pros: They are available 24 hours on the weekend Cons: 'They are only in it for the money' was my experience more

Way too expensive for the service provided and results produced 1/6/2007

My dog had a 1/2 inch laceration on his ear. Upon going to my regular vet to have the stitches removed a few days later the dog shook his head and all the stitches came out. The emergency vet had not used the correct way to repair the ear and the job had to be done all over again by my regular vet. Pros: Good front desk staff but tends to be very busy Cons: Too expensive for the results produced more

A few days ago we had to take my best friend, my persian cat Blobby, into emergency after he collapsed. It was an emergency situation and the staff were concerned, helpful and professional. I sincerely appreciated the consideration of Roger Repp, the veterinarian that looked after Blobby. Blobby died that night, we knew he had some problems and knew we had to let him go but I thank Dr Repp for his exceptional help and advice, he understood how precious the life of a loved pet is. Thank you Mandy Pros: clean, professional, quick more
