Wonderful School with Caring Staff!!!!! 11/17/2009

Tutor Time in Aurora is a Wonderful School with Caring & Fun Staff! I am a mother of two that has to work. It is never easy to leave your children for a length of time each and every day. However, I know that my children are in good hands with the staff at this school. They are qualified, honest, caring and friendly. The school is clean and doesn't have a smell like most other Day Cares have. The Center Director is very friendly and happy all the time. She makes my children feel special. Pros: Caring/Friendly Staff, Clean and Fun Atmospher Cons: None more

Think Twice 10/1/2009

I toured this center recently on a second visit - and I am glad I did. The first person who I toured with about 1 year ago really had me sold on the program. I was just not ready to enroll yet. I was now ready to enroll and went back to see the room my child would be in and let me tell you there was a new manager there. I was not impressed. The center had a "dirty" feel. Paint chips from the wall, very dirty floors (cleaning crew or not, you need to keep your building clean), a few staff members in rooms were not teacher qualified and they barely had any kids there. NOt a great impression at all..... Pros: NONE Cons: Staff not qualified, new managers, no kids more

Best Center Around 10/2/2008

Love the staff! Love the center!! Everyone is friendly and open. Its bright, clean, well equipped and secure. I feel like I am part of a family. My son loves going to Tutor Time. They have a big village to play in that I have not seen at any other center. The directors are easy to talk to and always available. The teachers always have something fun to tell me about my son when I pick him up. The other children say hi to my son when we come in in the morning, and he is in the 2 year old room. The verbal skills of my son and the other children in the classroom are remarkable. My sons doctor was very impressed with where he was at his last check up; she said he was at least 6 months advanced in some the areas he was assessing. I love bringing my son there and would highly recommend the center to anyone that is looking!!! Pros: computers, flexiblity, staff, clean Cons: na more

Unsafe Place 7/9/2008

Lost their NAEYC accredidation in 2007 for Corporal Punishment occurring at the center - Assistant Director didn't feel it was important enough to contact them even though they are mandated reporters. Five children were involved. DCFS citations for corporal punishment 2006, inadequate staffing 2007 and improper health records at the facility in 2008 - Not one center in the same area has these complaints against them. Most if not all are staffed with women who at least have associate degrees. This is not the case there for the lead teachers in any of the classrooms. more

Check them out and see for yourself 7/3/2008

Seems like you are the same person as below....like a previous review I called and there is nothing on them with DCFS. I would not even compare this center to other providers - you can't because Tutor Time is clean, great security, brand new equipment, organized, and very friendly caregivers who really care for your children. I would highly recommend this center, in fact, over the 4 years I have been there, I have referred families and will keep referring. Your review you write here, sounds like you are also "chickie88", but tried different wording to make it sound different. Again, in short, I love this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for the best out there. I also am a little confused, you mention that you will not enroll your child there, but at the end of your review you mention the babies were chained to the buggy - I must chuckle because in the 4 years the babies are only in the buggy while on walks outside.... Pros: security, clean, staff, enviroment Cons: NA more

Good on Paper - Did not See Practice in Evidence 6/27/2008

I looked into this - Did call DCFS and asked about substantiated claims - There were a few - one in 2006 and one in 2007. There license is in current standing for now I guess. They did lose their NAEYC accredidation back in 2007. I was able to verify this by asking round about questions. I was not told the reason. Bottom line, this center is conveniently located but I compared to Kindercares, Creative World, Children's World and Knowledge Beginnings and Adventures in Learning and it fell short in tuition, nutrition and activities offered. The staff seemed good but again not happy. I did not see the creativity that I saw at other centers. I am a super picky mom so maybe my comments are harsh but I will not be enrolling my child there. Other centers seemed more welcoming and secure. I also did not like seeing the babies chained down in their buggy too the entire time I was there while the teacher walked around and socialized in other classrooms. Pros: Convenience Cons: Not sure if worth the convenience.... more

Wonderful Facility 6/24/2008

WOW - I would have to disagree with your review. I have been enrolled for over 2 years and I have been very happy with the quality of care my child receives. The staff ALL care about ALL the children. I did call DCFS and they could not tell me about any violations or citations this school has been cited for. Where are you getting your information from? In fact, when I called the number posted on DCFS website, they said the school has a current license and it is in good standing. My child is going to be 2 and can identify color, his name, count, and is learning shapes and letters. I highly recommend this center to anyone looking for a quality place for your child. Pros: Brand new equipment, security system, caring staff, quality care, and clean Cons: NA more

Good place 6/18/2008

I have had my children enrolled for over 2 years. This place is wonderful, caring staff. They call for any injuires that happen (even little ones), they offer a great curriculum and I think it is very clean compared to other centers in the area. This is more of a learning school then a day care! They are very accommodating, flexible, and you can tell the staff really cares about your child. They all know ALL the kids by name. My child crys when we go home - they don't want to leave. I highly recommend this center without hesitation! more

NAEYC ACCREDIDATION LOST IN 2007 5/19/2008

Center lost NAEYC accredidation in 2007 due to corporal punishment- 2006 cited by DCFS - If you call hotline only goes back one year - do a freedom of information act request -- completely free and comes via mail or fax within 10 days!!!! 2008 cited for improper innoculations --- You will see this center has been cited more than any in the area for the past five years. I checked on all of them. The assistant director there failed to call on her own staff but assisted a dad going through a very litigious divorce make 2 phone calls to the department even though she had been informed as to what happened and the child had seen a doctor but hey her staff can drag a baby across the floor, force feed another one and not perform the correct background checks on the new hires caring for your children and she didn't feel that was important enough to render a phone call. The women even worked there for an additional month even though other things were being reported because they were friends. You can receive this information again by requesting a FOIA request on the DCFS website. I would recommned doing so as the other posters here are obviously closely affiliated with the center. Pros: none Cons: recenty cited in 2008 for innoculations - not enough qualified staff more
