OK so I booked this on Hotwire and yes... I paid next to nothing to stay there, BUT THAT'S THE DEAL THEY MADE WITH HOTWIRE... and taking out their ""slow month"" frustrations out on Hotwire customers is patently ridiculous.\r
\r
I walk in and sit down at the registration desk. I have prepaid my entire stay through Hotwire. Oops. They have to charge me a $35 cleaning fee on top of my prepaid deposit. \r
\r
My question to them??\r
\r
""This is a 3.5 star hotel... I have never paid a ""cleaning fee.""\r
\r
""Sir (the ""manager"" all but wagging his finger in my face) Sir. This is a RESORT. NOT a hotel.""\r
\r
""excuse me... huh?""\r
\r
\r
There was also another non-refundable ""security fee"" of $39.\r
\r
Me again:\r
\r
""What for? I have NEVER been charged a ""security fee"" at a hotel in my entire life.""\r
\r
""Sir. This is a RESORT. NOT a hotel.""\r
\r
""huh?""\r
\r
\r
\r
As I sat there in the lobby, a guest was coming in from the pool and a rather surly old woman in the front office jumped on the guest to immediately exchange his pool towel.\r
\r
I see. Now we are counting towels at a 3.5 star, ahem, ""RESORT""??\r
\r
My god almighty... I thought I was in the twilite zone.\r
\r
Hotwire return my money (BTW they NEVER DO THAT) and I proceded to book a 2 bdrm 2 bath 4 star (oh my god another) ""resort"" within 2 miles of Disney for $39 per night.\r
\r
And at $39 per night... with probably 1,000 vacant rooms in January... in the deepest recession since the 1930s... this other ""ahem"" ""RESORT"" was HAPPY to have us stay there. \r
\r
I have NEVER in my life been subjected to such ghetto treatment and would advise all potential, ahem, ""guests"" to think long and hard before staying at this hotel.\r
\r
Oops.\r
\r
I mean ""RESORT"".\r
\r
Pros: Looks very good in pictures
Cons: RIDICULOUS CUSTOMER POLICIES AND SURCHARGES
