Is there a new cook? 11/16/2009

My wife and I have been going to Turner's for over 7 years. We've always had a great meal there and it was once one of our favorite spots. I was stunned by just how awful the cooking had become on our last visit. After a 45 minute wait we were eager to have some of our favorites. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my wife ordered the mussels dijonnaise and Tuna Sushimi appetizers. The linguini for the scampi was cut into small pieces and wasmushy. Tasted like something that came out of a can. The dijonnaise had a bitter aftertase and the tune came in really small bite-size portions that were not trimmed well. Other people I talked to said they also had a bad experience there recently. I hope Turner's reads these reviews and takes a look. Pros: Good service. Cons: Awful cooking and portions were small. Used to be excellent more

Don't know how to cook a lobster and vastly overpriced 11/18/2007

Terribly over rated. Went twice and was surprised that these guys dont know how to cook a lobster. Pros: Really none! Cons: Overpriced. Dont know how to cook a lobster more

Good, fresh seafood 8/12/2006

Seafood was very fresh. Dishes were tasty. Service was good considering the restaurant was constantly busy. May be a little noisy at times. Pros: parking in back Cons: slightly noisy more

Favorite Seafood Restaurant 2/12/2006

Expected More 6/5/2005

This is my second time here. I recently went this weekend ( a party of 6 )and the fried seafood has a bland flavor. The lobster pie..too oily and/or buttery - took away from the lobster meat. The haddock my friend had said it was too dry.The fresh tuna was the best. The waitress we had didn't crack a smile the entire night. Pros: cute place Cons: average pricing, bland seafood more

Turner's is our spot 7/1/2003

Westin uses Turner's Fisheries to honor the name of their fish provider. This is named for that same man by his family. The chef blends flavors and textures for the specials which never fail to delight. The regular menu has something for evry palate. The tin ceiling, ceiling fans, oyster bar and wooden floors make it homey. Locals call from home before walking to this restaurant/fish market to get on the wait list. Sometimes it is better to call here for take-out when lines are long ... but then you'd miss your neighbor, selectman or teacher also waiting. Pros: daily specials, pan seared tuna, absolutely fresh fish Cons: small, reservations more/6, parking difficult more

Where's the beef? 10/7/2002

If you're looking for beef, don't come here (or the Hilltop)! But if you like fish, Turner's is a wonderful alternative to Legal Seafood. The place is cozy and has a nice New England atmosphere. The service is friendly, but a bit slow. The food is tasty, whether you like tuna sashimi and oysters or the classic bake stuffed haddock. The portions have gotten a little smaller over the years so the value is dropped a bit. See what happens when a ""dry"" town allows beer and wine in restaurants - you get nice places like Turner's! Wish it happened decades ago. Pros: Great wet bar, nice variety, fresh fish Cons: slow service, shrinking portions, tight seating more
