As I left the lobby, I stepped into another world. I was greeted with subdued lighting, soft and tranquil background music , and the sound of quiet running water in a wall fountain the Zen Room. I was already getting drowzy. I was greeted by a wonderful and warm person named Erin who was going to give me my facial. The next hour I must have slipped into a dreamworld because the time went very fast. I was very pleased with her work. I felt so relaxed and my face never felt to refreshed. I have been to many spas, mostly impersonal and cold, but when I got my facial and massage from Tropical Waters, it was so inviting. Erin did a fantastic job on my facial! I've been to many spas because I love facials and massages. I just love pampering myself! My boyfriend gave me a gift certificate for a Tropical Waters massage and facial and OMG it was amazing!!! The staff is extremely kind and soft-spoken. The ambiance was calming and very soothing. I went on a Friday after a long week of work and was so relaxed right when I walked in. The service was PERFECT and I will definitely use their services from now on. Trust me, I've been to many spas around the city and this is by far the best I've been to! This spa might be good for facials and massages, but I wouldn't ever recommend it for waxing. I went there for my standard (full legs, bikini and underarms) and the woman giving the waxing was making the patches of wax too big so she couldn't pull it all off in one stroke and was also not holding the skin down when pulling up it was extremely painful because it was trying to take the skin on my leg with it. Then she giggled and said "Oh, it's less painful if I hold it down." But she still kept trying to do it this sloppy way. She got wax everywhere and wasn't getting it pulled up. At the end, she says she's really a massage therapist. Basically, they took someone and gave her wax and fabric and said go without any proper training. Now I have to travel all the way from Hermosa to Westwood or Silverlake as I'm scared to try a new place and spend money to find that it's awful like the Tropical Waters waxers. more

Found all employees to be pleasant and thoroughly professional. My Swedish massage from Marisol was exceptional and my wife was extremely pleased with her manipedi from Yuki and her facial waxing from Susie. We will definitely reurn every chance we get. I have lived in SoCal for 3 years and I still was flying home all the time to get my hair done. As I get older, I just don't have the time to so I made a life altering decision to find a new hair stylist. I have seen some of the really "trendy" haircuts that come from high end, Hollywood places and I was less than impressed. After asking around and doing a little bit of research, I decided to give Tropical a shot. Teresa was my stylist and she was so awesome, she did a great job, and did exactly what I asked her to do and she was very accommodating. I?ve never written a review on anything before but felt it necessary to express my appreciation towards such an accommodating 2 hours of getting my hair cut and colored in Hermosa Beach at the Tropical Waters spa & salon. I live in Santa Monica but have a lot of friends that live in the south bay. They are always talking about how awesome this salon is which made me curious to see how a simple men?s haircut could be that much better than my regular shop in Santa Monica. I was lucky enough to get a same day appointment which happened to be with Nora who is a master stylist and the owner of the salon. As soon as I walked in to the salon I was greeted by what seemed to be every stylist in the room. I could sense the not so typical salon vibe of stylists who all seemed to get along which made for a comfortable atmosphere and a great first impression. Nora had greeted me as if I was a VIP client and immediately offered me a glass of champagne. How cool is that? Seriously! Almost like she knew I had just finished from a strenuous day at the office and needed to take the edge off. After a pre-washing of the hair and empty glass of wine it was time to discuss my hair cut. Unlike the routine and boring specifications I usually demand with every hair cut, I asked Nora?s opinion of what would look good. She suggested a completely different hair style than the usual boring trim that I get time after time. Thinning, texturing, and mild highlights. I felt like grabbing a dictionary really quick so I could pretend to know what she was suggesting. Anyway, to make a long story short, my hair cut looks very stylish and I?ve been receiving many wonderful compliments. I figure writing this review is the least I could do for such an unexpected pleasurable experience at a beauty salon. You should all check this salon out. I was the maid of honor for my best friends wedding and I looked everywhere for a place where she would get everything a bride would want and more for her wedding day and I found that in Tropical waters hair salon. Nora and her crew made sure that everyone in the wedding party felt like royalty and provided a very relaxing environment for a very hectic day ahead of us. The package included a limo that picked us up from our hotel in huntington and brought us over to the salon in hermosa where we were greeted with friendly faces, mimosas and breakfast. the ladies at the salon not only did a wonderful job with our hair and make up along with pedicures and manicures they really made everyone feel comfortable. They constantly asked how we were feelign and made sure that we were 100% happy with what they were providing for us. The bride looked beautiful and the wedding party looked glamorous. When we were all finished they even gave us a goodie bag to take with us which included pureology hair products and samples of the make up they used on us for retouching our make up later that night. The limo took us back to our hotel and i have to admit that out of the four weddings that took place at that hotel that day, we all stood out. Hands down this place is a goldmine and youd be a fool to pass up such a luxury. You can never find another place so relaxing and beautiful for the price we got it for. Im for sure coming here for my wedding Pros: limo picked us up so we didn't have to worry about driving there or getting lost. more

I drove past this salon many times and never went in. Finally a friend told me about what a great experience she had there and I decided to try it out. Therea was my stylist and she did an amazing job. I brought a photo of what I wanted my hair to look like and she made it happen. She understands how to highlight without making it look sloppy and she gave me a great haircut. I was very impressed and will definately go back. more

After having a bad styling experience at Supercuts, I called the salon the next day to see if I could get any help with my botched color and cut. When I called, I was fit in to the salon 2 hours later, and ended up with such a smashing look- I was so happy. My coloring was fixed, my cut was fabulous, and the master stylist was understanding and didnt make me feel uncomfortable about the situation at all.
