BEWARE! 5/6/2012

The first time I went to Trim as a walk-in and received a great haircut: (long straight hair, 1"" trim, blowdry) and was happy to tip 20% on the $45 service. The hair dresser put product in my hair for the blowdry and my hair came out shiny, smooth and perfect. Today I went back for the 2nd time for the same 1"" trim off of my long straight hair. The trim took all of 5 minutes and then the blow dry (no product put in my hair so the end result was fly-away!) and the cost this time was DOUBLE! Yes, $90 for the 5 minute trim & blowdry with no product! In shock I asked why and the receptionist said ""it's your 2nd visit"" like that was my punishment! I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone! No wonder it was empty on a Sunday afternoon! Had I known first time visits are 1/2 the price, I would just return with a different name every time! Now I'll never go back! What a terrible way to do business! more

Best Beach Hair Anywhere! 1/19/2011

Even if I didn't live in Venice, I'd be travelling to Trim to get my hair done, no matter how far. Antonio, my stylist is absolutely wonderful and extremely talented at what he does. I've had my hair done everywhere from Paris to New York to Stockholm and nobody has done a better job than him. I'm often asked by strangers on the street who does my cut and color, which is the ultimate testimony to satisfaction, in my opinion. The rest of the Trim staff is also super skilled at what they do, as I have friends who've had their hair done by many of them, always leaving too happy for words. Don't go anywhere else for your next hair appointment! PS. Your first cut will be ridiculously inexpensive there too. more

Try Trim 12/22/2010

I found out about Trim on citysearch and tried it because the first visit was only $40, . I thought the cut was very good and I will go back even though the minimum price is $75 for subsequent cuts. I thought it was as good as Umberto in Beverly Hills . My cut and style were much better than the ones I have had at Rudys so even though Rudys is cheaper , trim is worth the extra cost .The cut had more details than other similarly priced cuts I have had .The stylist was ready for me at the time of the appointment , a rare occurance in salons. more

I will never leave Djuna.... 9/2/2010

I am very picky when it comes to my long blonde locks. When I find someone good I stick with them. Djuna is my girl and has been for 5 years now. I get compliments on how natural and healthy my hair always looks. Whenever I want a little change she is always able to give me exactly what I ask for. I have asked for some pretty drastic cuts over the years and have loved every single one. I would especially recommend her to blondes, all shades. I live in Venice and love Abbot Kinney. It is a great location for trim and I love the vibe on the inside as well. more

Djuna's been cutting my hair for several years now. It always looks good, even when I ask for something a bit different. And it looks good from the moment I get out of the chair; not several days later. I wouldn't go to anyone else. Pros: Smart, stylish and consistent. Cons: I wish my hair grew faster. more

I go to Djuna at Trim. She cuts and colors my hair and does an EXCELLENT job! She recently did the ""Brazilian Blow-out"" on my hair, (which is very curly and frizzy) It came out AMAZING!! No frizz, relaxed curl, its shiny and so manageable now. She has also done baliage highlighting on my hair, and I love it. Its hard to find a stylist that knows how to do all of the latest techniques, but she a pro, and I HIGHLY recommend her!! Pros: Great stylist, great atmosphere more

Djuna rocked my boyish bob and got me red carpet ready! 7/9/2010

I have been a client of Djuna's for awhile now and I have never left her chair without loving my haircut. About a year ago, I got cast in my first feature film in a role that required a very short, boyish cut. The hairstylist on set cut my long locks and, needless to say, as soon as were done filming I went straight to Djuna for a ""cleanup"". She rocked my boyish cut into a structured bob that I still love and wear today. I think this haircut has helped me book numerous tv and commercial jobs since. About six months later, I was going to be walking my first red carpet for the above-mentioned feature film and one of the first people I called was Djuna. Nervous about the night, not knowing what to expect, and wanting to look great, I asked Djuna to do my makeup, and she couldn't have done a better job! I felt sexy, beautiful, and confident! For 4 years I've been making the trek from Hollywood to Venice just to see Djuna, and I refuse to go to anyone else. I don't know how she does it, but her cuts keep my hair looking great for MONTHS, which actually works to her own personal expense because I don't have to go back as often. It's a great deal. She just does an amazing job every time and I've never been less than thrilled with my hair. Trim is a very laid-back salon, easy to find on Abbot Kinney and I've always found parking nearby. You will go to Djuna for the $20 promotional cut, but you'll go back for years and years because all her customers do. She's incredibly gifted and super nice to boot. I agree with the other postings... It's really about Djuna. I've been with Djuna for 5 years now, no matter which salon she is with. Bottom line, she's good at her job. Just tell her what you want/don't want (you can be frank), and she gets it. She's great with color, as well as cut. Djuna ROCKS at Trim 7/6/2010

I met Djuna 7 years ago when I moved here from Boston and needed a new hair stylist. She was my $20 first hair cut at TRIM. And I haven't been to anybody since. I have long thick hair. She always does what I ask and also when I'm wishy washy helps me make decisions. She has moved to 2 other places and I followed her like a hair stalker, now she's back at Trim and I'm back there too. Need highlights, she can do it. Need a change, she can figure it out. Just need a pick me up haircut, she's there for you. Need to talk, she can do that too. Need her to do your hair and makeup for a special event, YUP, Djuna does that. She not only was invited to my wedding, but she did my hair and makeup too. I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture, Djuna is great at her job, she loves it and you will too. they say the first cut is $20, but they charge me $45 because I have curly hair and the stylist has no idea how to style curly hair so she had to straight it first. No matter how much I insisted to have my hair layered, sadly it never happened. so pretty much she didn't do anything I asked for. THE PRICE IS CHEAP BUT THE QUALITY IS CHEAPER!!!! more

Worst Hair Cut Ever 4/21/2010

Went in for ""$20"" cut and boy did I get what I paid for. Price was cheap and so was the service. Unless you don't mind a hairstylist looking at themselves in the mirror other than your hair their cutting - I felt that I was walking into a bar rather than a salon. cheap all the way around Pros: right by my house Cons: horrible stylists! more

Great place, great hair! 1/3/2010

I was looking for a new hair stylist after mine left my current salon and moved away. Even for the $20 first-timers price, I was a little hesitant. I got a fantastic cut, and I'll be back. FYI: With cut, blow dry and tip it still ran me $60...but it's a huge discount off of my regular price. Very good marketing technique. I love, love, love my new cut--thanks trim.! I love trim because of one of there employees named Angela Garcia. She styles, cut's, wash's, and dry's terrific. She styles great. Everytime I get my hair done by her, she never disappionts me. I love seeing her because she style's great, cut's great, and has a awsome personality. She will not cut your hair until she get's a view of what you want in her hair. She never cuts your hair too short or too little. It's literally perfect. When ever I see her, I let her take control of my hair and she just works her scissors until they can't anymore.
