Tresetti's World Caffe

Worst waste of money ever. Orders simply... pasta and vegetable dish, and pesto pasta dish. Lets start with the vegetable pasta. Sent it back.. it was dry, had NO flavor and they tried to serve us old, moldy squash. This was my husbands dish. He is a chef. When the waitress returned she tried to say the chef said it was because it was grilled, and that caused the blackening. I think a chef would know the difference between rotten squash and blackened squash. Not to mention is was very dry, as if sitting under warmer for awhile. There were only two other couples in the restaurant. He ordered nothing else. I ordered a pesto ravioli... It had little flavor... and tasted very little like pesto anything. Now.. we did order Brie, Garlic, Bread appetizer.... The bread... was not an antiquate amount for the cheese and Garlic and if you desired more you had to pay like 3 bucks for it. The meal.... One not so great appetizer, One not so great Ravioli, One soda, One corona,,,,,,,, 30 Bucks. They took off the rotten vegetable dish. Suggestion... If you want a great meal, romantic, friendly atmosphere... go to Dewz... or less pricey.... Fuzios which is within walking distance. more

I absolutely love Tresetti's. It is probably the most romantic restaurant in town. I love sitting on the patio with the heaters. The staff is very friendly and fun! I look forward to eating there whenever I can break away for a romantic night out with my husband. The wine list is awesome and the food is incredible. I recently celebrated my anniversary there for 60+ guests and Tresetti's did a phenomenal job on the food and the presentation. This place is awful. I had read a lot of good reviews about how the food is amazing and ""san francisco style,"" and since I live in San Francisco and eat out there a lot, I had high expectations. Sadly, they were quickly squashed. The food was sub-par and exorbitantly overpriced for the quality. I ordered the duck, which was supposed to be ""citrus and lavender scented,"" which it was not. Trust me, lavender is one of my favorite flavors, and there was no lavender in this dish. The potato and parsnip fritter was tasteless - it tasted simply like deep fried starch. No seasoning, not even salt. It was memorable only for its blandness. The sauce a l'orange was simply a brown sauce with no flavor. The lavender and citrus salad was a few sprigs of frisee lettuce and a few microscopic pieces of orange. Again, no lavender. Even the bread that they served was sub-par!. It was cold and hard - it was clear that it had been sitting out for a while. The only good thing I can say was that my duck was reasonably tender. A frequent hangout on weekends and occasional weeknights for many of my friends. Great calamari, they actually know how to cook it unlike many retayrants. Love the roasted garlic and Brie appetizer. Love the truffle raviolli, it's expensive and small portion but...so decadent and amazing!!!! MMMMM!!!! I have a friend who works ther and she really makes the place light up with her personality as well as Rob the bartender who served me my first drink on my 21st bithday in 2001 :) Pros: Great food, service, drinks Cons: Bar is tiny and packed to the brim on weekends. Dining room usually has many drinkers rather than eaters when it's busy. Thet can be annoying. I suggest only eating dinner there on weeknights. more

This is still the best restaurant in Modesto. Many others come and go but Tresetti's keeps a steady course with consistently delicious, innovative and fresh food; nice atmosphere and very good wine selection. (The attached wine shop doesn't hurt.) Their deserts are to die for, especially anything with chocolate! Very nice decor and classical or jazz music that's not too loud. They also have a great bar.
