Outstanding Restaurant 5/8/2006

We just returned from Stanford's Admit Weekend where we dined at Trellis on each of the four nights of our stay. The first night we ate at Trellis because it was our favorite restaurant from our first visit to Stanford. We continued to dine each evening at Trellis as we could not imagine finding a better dining experience. Every course of every meal that we and our guests had at Trellis was excellent. The prices were more than reasonaable including the wine. The owner, Kurt, knew many of his customers and treated everyone as special. It was fun to watch Kurt expertly play the crowd and attend to his customers that he so obviously values. If you want exceptionally prepared food, served with pride at reasonable prices and to be treated like ""royalty"", then Trellis is the restaurant for you. Pros: Service, Food, Value more

good Italian in Menlo Park 11/6/2003

You might not be able to tell just from the name, but Trellis is pretty much an Italian restaurant. I got the bucatini with pancetta, which was good and satisfying (but not spectacular). Everything they serve you will be a good portion (I had leftovers). The pasta dishes are $11-16, mostly around $12. I was a single diner when I went and the staff is good to single diners. My server was professional and attentive but not overbearing. When he brought me the bill, he said, ""We don't close until 10, so take your time if you want to read some more."" It was only 8:15. Trellis is a good neighborhood standby. The food is nothing to go out of your way for, but it's good enough. more

Best in Menlo Park 6/20/2003

I live in Menlo Park and think this is the best restaurant we have in this City. The banquet room seats 120 people, has its own bar, large windows, a huge balcony and is ideal for large parties, unlike the claustrophobic rooms other restaurants offer. I have dined at the other restaurants in Menlo Park and found the service to be lacking and the prices to be outrageous. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to be treated like royalty while enjoying wonderful food. Pros: service, banquet room, food more
