We had a wonderful experience at the Travelodge in Monterey. The room was pleasantly decorated and very clean. The staff was friendly and gave us great advice regarding sightseeing in the area. The breakfast was outstanding. We are definitely staying at this particular facility next time we are in the area. more

The gentleman who was working the evening we arrived was incredibly helpful. He was pleasant and professional and gave us great food recommendations. It was a wonderful way to start our vacation. more

Easy to find and everything is very near two gas stations, a Dennys even a Jack in the box a block up the road. When we arrived the clerk had our paperwork ready for in case of a black out. We were informed of breakfast and asked if we were familiar with the area and if we needed directions. Our room was very comfortable, but for in case you dont notice your fridge on its because you have to plug it in yourself. I am tall and so the shower was smaller than most but my kids fit fine. Even though there were showers through out our stay parking was outside our room and the walkway to the office was covered. I do recommend if you want to have a good rest dont stay on the first floor everyone passes by your window. We have two kids we are used to everything just small recommendations for everyone else. more

Stayed at this property in 2007, good experience then, decided to give it another try.Again was not dis-appointed. All the rooms have been upgraded and are comfortable. Still a trip back in time when you drive up your mind flashes back to the days when you arrive with mom/dad in the station wagon, they check in and kids make a bee line for the pool!! Rooms are small but very comfortable, new paint, carpet, furniture, pillowtop mattress. Rooms are wi'fi'ed with a very strong connection. Staff friendly and knowledgible. When we arrived office attendent let me park overnite in the managers parking space. Very convienent to downtown/wharf, 12 min walk. Lots of shopping and fine dining within walking distance. If your really hungry..Denny's is right across the street. Standard continental breakfast (Bear bites), coffee, tea, hot chochlate avail 24 hrs. Rooms are thermostacally controlled so A/C & Heat cycle like at home. No drone of a fan running constently. Room has a lounge chair & ottoman, to enjoy TV, w/o just lying on the bed. Bathrooms are SMALL!!!!, one person at a time. Showers..munchikin like..If your 5'9"" you will need to drop your head to get wet...People must of been smaller 50 yrs ago!! Property appears to be secure, common sense dictates you lock your car .. They do offer underground parking. For the value I don't think you can beat this property...Kick back and enjoy your stay more

Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we were able to walk to the Custom House Garage (about 10 minutes) to get the bus in the morning to the race start. We were woken up the first night by some rowdy guests, but that could have happened anywhere. Also, we were just down the street from the Del Monte shopping center where there was a Whole Foods, a pharmacy, a P.F. Chang's, and other restaurants. I would also recommend The Wild Plum right next to the Denny's across the street from the Travelodge. It's a little expensive, but they've got a great veggie burger. Oh, our room had a mini-fridge, too, and was just down the street from a Peet's Coffee & Tea, and only a few blocks from the Convention Center for the Expo. more

In the room they have microwave and refrigerator inside the room, very positive. I'd really recommend this hotel. more

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The big plus is it's location - within walking distance of downtown Monterey which has great coffee shops through to excellent quality restaurants. more

We only stayed here one night, but we really liked the place and would recommend it as a great value motel in a fantastic location. We didn't hear any noise unlike other guests, and had a very peaceful night. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave good recommendations for local restaurants etc. The room was a great size, immaculately clean and lovely comfortable beds - the breakfast was more than adequate. No complaints at all. more

Good value for the money: A clean, cheap, no-frills place to stay; our room was only $49/night. Kind of noisy (near a major intersection), but also convenient for walking to restaurants and shops a few blocks away. Two good breakfast places nearby (Wild Plum Cafe and Old Monterey Cafe). About a 25-minute walk to the aquarium along the very nice recreational trail. Parking is limited - the garage was full one night so we had to park on the street (not a problem, though). Biggest complaint was the showerhead - it was mounted too low on the wall, I had to crouch down to wash my hair (I'm 5'7"). more

Good quality motel at the town end of the street, so much closer than you think to the town center. Convenient and has additional parking underground. Check-in person was friendly and the area was good. Room itself was a good size, comfortable and well equipped including safe, ironing board, Travelodge toiletries. All clean. more
