Trans-Plant Plus Transmissions

They don't even deserve the 1 star... I came to them based on price, but it cost me more in the long run. They initially had my car for a week and a half (they promised it would take 2-3 days) and when I finally picked it up it was still not fixed properly. They told me they had added some lubricant which should fix the problem after driving for a while... stupid me. I drove for a week and then brought it back. This time they had it for 3 weeks and it was never fixed right. I was told that it was not the transmission and that it was a computer problem, however, I ended up taking it to another shop and ended up having it replaced by them. Fortunately, my bank has refunded my money (it is still in evaluation stage though). They did not call me a single time, even after promising to call back. They lied constantly about lead times and used the same excues for delays over and over. When confronted, they hang up and refuse to talk to you. Please do NOT believe the positive reviews like I did... My experience was the same as every one of the negative reviews. This company has 43 complaints and an F rating with the Better Business Bureau for a reason. Channel 12 also did a segment on them on 9/5/11... please believe that story as well. On top of that, they currently have a suit filed against them by the Attorney General of the State of AZ. Dennis and Rob are CROOKS and should not be allowed to do business any longer. more

I received a quote of $550 for a transmission but then later they changed the price to $868; held onto my transmission and told me they would ship out next day... next day turned into 10 days. They were just supposed to swap the transmissions because they said they had it stock but come to find out they didn't. When they promise that it will be shipped out, they wait to lump it with other shipments that have to go out. They were not sympathetic and did not communicate with me on the status of my transmission. I had to call them even though they said they would return my call. I got them off of Craigslist and do not recommend them. I'm a single parent and delay just caused unnecessary hardship on me when originally they said they had the part and quoted me a low price and jacked it up later. more

I doubt the good reveiws on this site about Transplant. If you use other sites I think they are more accurate. This company has terrible business practices and a law suit from the attorney general office of Arizona. Beware. We had a bad experience . Also look at Ripoff Report . Watch out for Rob and Dennis. Everyone is in on it. Also do not let them get your money or credit card before anything is done. Most shops charge you after the service. And ask for a itemized bill and the old parts.Any shop that is leghit will do it for you. Next stop will be the AAG more

Recently had to have the clutch replaced on my old 95 Jeep Wrangler and I was referred to Transplant Transmission by a friend. They were a bit away from my house, was my only complaint, but not too far and they offered a fair price and could do the swap out that day. I went in at about 11:00am and they got the Jeep right in. I waited around for my car to be fixed. It was lunch time and the guy in the office offered to have one of the guys grab me a sub sandwich since he was heading out to get lunch for everyone. I was surprised at the level of customer service I received from them. I do not think I have ever been offered more than a cup of coffee and a cookie. A little while after lunch, they had the repair complete and I was headed home, full and happy. Thank you for the great job, you made a new customer and thank you Paul for the referral. more

Transplant Transmissions in Tempe recently replaced the clutch on my Saturn. They did a great job and for a fair price. They even had to do it twice, since the first clutch was defective. They paid to tow it in and complete the repair. I was very impressed with the level of service I received considering some of the bad reviews listed for this company. I was satisfied and would use them again if needed. more

Transplant Transmission installed my transmission for a flat $300 and had it in within 1 day of dropping it off. They did a great job on the install and I was very happy with the price. If you are looking for a dependable repair shop in the east valley, this guys are worth a call. more

I just bought a re-manufactured 999 Transmission for my Jeep Cherokee. The torque converter was also rebuilt and it was priced nice at $695. They had it in stock which was great, since I was doing the swap myself, I was able to get right back on the road. I'll use them again if ever I need too! more

Need to replace my clutch I was on the hunt for a good deal. I found Trans-Plant Transmission and they offered not only the best price but a free tow as well. My car was in and out of the shop with a rebuilt transmission in less than 48 hours. I am so thankful for all of your help! more

A friendly referral sent me to Trans-Plant Transmission in Tempe, AZ. My wife's friend was telling us about her experience when we needed to fix the transmission on one of the work vans. We tried them on our friends word and were treated very well, as she said she was. The price was fair and I was able to leave the shop with the new transmission that day. No issues installing it and the van only saw about a day and a half of down time. more

I thought I'd drop in a review since everything I read about this company was horrible. This company had the cheapest price on the Transmission for my car and even though the reviews sucked, I had to go with them or have no transmission and no car to get to and from work. It has only been a few weeks with the new transmission but so far so good. They were almost $100 cheaper than the competition I found and I did not have to go without my car. So, I give them a thumbs up! more

I have been a customer of Trans-Plant Transmission for a long time, they are close and affordable; but recently they made a change for the better. I have never had an issue with Rob personally but last time I ordered a transmission it did take over a week to get it in. My transmission went out on the work van and I was hoping he would have something in stock to get the van back on the road. The whole shop seemed slower and more relaxed. Rob told me they no longer handled daily shipping to out of town customers. I'm sure that cuts down on the overall profit of the store but it sure made this my best trip in there. I was on the road within a half hour with the tranny in hand! I agree this place did not always have the best service but it seems that may be changing for the better! more

RIP OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\r Rip-off they rebuilt the transmission and installed in one day,,,now I have taken truck back in 12 times totaling 29 days out of my hands !! Today (because the truck is leaking transmission fluid again, they are charging me for a new dipstick because they say its worn from being taken in and out too many times...BY THEM !! Better Business Bereau has 43 reports and gives them an ""F"" rating. See ripoffreport dot com also. They have put cross members back in wrong spot, leaking multiple times, flaring internal issues, blame other parts that are then checked by other mechanics from other places to be fine and that its really transmission problems more

I agree. The company is crooked. He doesn't know what he is doing and hurts people because I have brother who lives remotely and requires his truck for his livelihood and he took his hard cash to get his truck working and now its winter. Thanks to these jerks he can't get to work has no ability to transport his wife and my niece in to town for supplies during winter. He is out $1500 dollars that he doesn't have the internet connection to dispute the credit charges. They have no concern for the people they hurt or the hard work of the money they pocket. Close up shop dude--you are hurting people and the image of your profession for anyone who relies on mechanics. In the old days they hung horse thieves and when you take a man's parts and promise to sell a working rebuilt transmission and then don't--you have stole the persons horse and in some cases leave them stranded in very precarious situations. DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY YOUR PARTS OR ANY WORK! more

Rob is a crook he just keeps getting his friends to post good reviews for him they dont know what they are doing he is a sub standard human being.. I read some of these mixed reviews and decided to stop by the shop and make my own decision. Rob Brady gave me a tour of the shop and went over everything he was going to provide along with a 2 year warranty. Not only did I save over $500 but I kept the money in my community. Pros: Deal With the Owner not a franchise. Cons: I hate spending mony but he was 35% Cheaper than a Franchise more
