Tower Cafe- an eclectic art collection, great food and company 5/8/2006

The food is good and the eclectic art collection seems to be from someone's travels. Beautiful potted plants and pots. Can also dine outdoors in the winter but summer brunches, lunches and dinners are so relaxing and soothing near their water fountain under the shade of their palms and maple trees. They have large variety of bottle beers...some unheard of. Always enjoy bringing friends there. more

electic dining in sac 9/30/2005

when you first enter the tower cafe - your senses will feel overloaded. not only are the aromas from the kitchen mesmerizingc, but the art in the restaurant is amazing. the food is incredible - with the jerk chicken as the standout! PROS: everything CONS: none more

Fun atmosphere, Funky Cuisine 6/22/2005

This place boasts a menu that encompasses dishes from all over the globe. The dishes are fun, creative and decently priced. This is a nice place for dates, it's a classy restaraunt without trying too hard. The decor inside has nearly every square inch covered with a piece of art or artifact from one culture or another. The styles mish-mash together eveyrhting to create a beautiful, visual cacophony. The patio is really where it's at. With lots of foliage and shade during the day, the patio is a comfortable place for a relaxing meal. The service is always top-notch, and somehow I always end up tipping at least 30% or more! Parking is available in the lot behind the theatre more

A visit to the West Indies 6/2/2005

The menu is southwest all the way. The decor is even more south than you could imagine. With gargoyles, lions and tribal masks, mexican prints to black lepards glaring at the diners is a treat when you are waiting to place your order or get your order. The place is always packed because of the garden seating and rows of window tables. The place is very open and bright. The best is the salads - lots of fresh cut vegetables. I am not a drinker but great list of wines and beers too. And the desserts are to live for!!! Fantastic!!! Service is worth 20% tip or more. PROS: Desserts, southwestern ambiance, service CONS: Waiting time is long for large parties more

Funky Cafe with unusual menu, decent atmosphere 3/29/2005

The tower cafe is a great place for weekend brunches. I recommend the eggs tower, their own version of eggs benedict. When the weather is nice, it's great to enjoy the patio. The lunches and dinners are also good and the menu is full of unusual selections for Sacramento. The decor is eclectic and the atmosphere is always interesting. the bakery has an excellent selection of deserts. The cafe is in the same building as the tower theatre, which usually runs artsy films. Its a good dinner or lunch before the movie or drinks/desert after. PROS: good prices, good and unusual food CONS: can be very crowded, shares parking with theatre, so parking can be tight more
