Touhy Mobile Homes Park

This place is utterly ridiculous! My daughter and her friend rented a Brand NEW trailer in this park. From the first day, it was a nightmare! The plumbing did not work.. Unknown to them, so the first night they showered, washed some dishes, and used the kitchen sink several times. The next morning, the floors in the kitchen bathroom and nearest bedroom were wet. They immediately went to the office who sent a maintainence man out . He tightened some pipes looked under the trailer and said it was all fixed. Well it wasn't!! Later that day the toilet was slow flushing so the girls plunged it, water went down, but next use of toilet it came up in the tub!! They reported this to the office again, never seen anyone come and check it out. Went to office CLOSED!! Called emergency # no response,! This went on for 3 days. The kids had to use the office bathroom( when they were open) or find someplace else to go...how awful! Finally they got in touch with a lawyer and reported that to the office Then they decided to put the kids up in a hotel for a few days until it was fixed!! All is good there, but after the septic/ drainage problem was fixed, there floors were ruined in the kitchen and carpet soaked in the bedrooms!! This took a week to complete... Now they are told they have 10 days to vacate the trailer as they have dogs and the office claims they have no knowledge of any animals!! THeY PAID a PET DEPOSIT!! Really?? Is it even LEGAL to give a 10 day notice to vacate? These people are really ridiculous!! I suppose they think because these are young kids they can treat them this way!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Especially if you are looking to buy, lease, or rent to own! Then lo and behold today they tried to tow my daughters car away! What the heck she has a parking permit... I guess that's not worth anymore then the paper it's written on!! more

where do i begin,,,, racist,, discriminating, workers are all worthless , the guys sit around and look at porn magazines and im sure they get paid good money they break into homes and steal i heard they found $4000 in a safe im sure they split it. they ticket you for not parking right but yet its ok for them to park in your parking place! they ruined my flower bed,, and Laura in the Office hmm she is the BIGGEST BITC% the homes are ok rent is overpriced the running of the park is horrible,,,,,,,,, roaches and rodents galore ... more

I read the previous critique on Touhy Mobile Home Park and I read the comment. I am almost positive that the response was made by someone who either works for the park or has some type of financial interest in the rating Touhy Mobile Home Park (i.e. Seller/ R E agent) what ""Red Critic"" is accurate. This park is more about the money than it is about its residents. From the Office Personnel down to the Park Maintenance, I have found the attitude to be ""I don't wanna get involved cause I don't wanna lose my job"". I have personally witnessed the injustice of the employees of the park...getting inf the face of residents, screaming at people when they ask you a question and the ""it's not my problem"" attitude in the office, that go unchecked or unpunished by the park, yet if they feel that a resident wrongs them your car gets unjustly towed, you get fined or even more mistreatment by park employees. Forget about complaining about it because as you will be told, there is nothing you can do. What they say is what will happen and you have no way to dispute it. You would think that the fact that they see people moving out and not enough moving back in would send them a message but then why should it....they can just raise the Lot Fee. Don't move here...don't let your relatives move here and if they do don't visit them...your car will be towed if they don't pay a visitor fee. I have notified IHUD and they urged me to send a letter to the Atty. Gen. Nothing may come of it but at least if something happens I am on the record and should a Lawsuit be filed someone an go and research and get more money more

We thought that this park could answer our hardship but then when the management changed, the park became unpleasant for all the residents. They treat that all who live in the park as uneducated who can't understand and read English. This is all business without empathy to their tenants! they are only after MONEY... water smells like toilet bowl, employees are unpolite especially the security personnel!!!! and they have favoritism in the park. Discrimations are powerful in this park. Hey Mr. OWNER you can't bring your money in heaven. You will end up in the nursing home!!! Hope you sleep good while more than 50 families are thinking about the fines you gave!!! SWALLOWED YOUR MONEY AND YOUR PARK SOIL!!! more
