Tortilla Flats is by far my favorite place in town! I've been going to the flats since I was a kid, and I have gotten just about everything on the menu. The chicken mole, enchiladas, tostada, margaritas, and banana cream pie are all my favorites.\r The price is fair, and I definitely recommend Tortilla Flats to all my friends. Best Place 8/14/2008

My friend had a dinner with his family at Tortilla Flats and he suggested me, to have a dinner at that place. When I entered I saw at walls, it was decorated with antique pottery. The artwork on the walls was just stunning and about Food it was just amazing especially Mexican. Service provided by the authority was commendable. I have decided next time I will take my family at Tortilla Flats. more

World class restaurant 12/13/2007

I was visiting Soquel and my sister-in-law took me to Tortilla Flats, and let me tell you it was a treat! The atmosphere is inviting with more of a South American decor. The menu is intriguing with fresh seafood dishes, along with more traditional mexican fare. The margaritas are to die for! The service was friendly and helpful, especially considering the menu choices. I'd definitely go back more

Ole Mole! event going on now at Tortilla Flats 12/13/2007

Starting December 10 going on until the 17th, Tortilla Flats will be holding their Ole Mole! event. Owner Cheryl Marquez has researched and prepared the moles in the traditional way. Using all fresh ingredients and letting the sauces take their time to develop, she has prepared a range of moles rarely seen in American restaurants. The One & Only Tortilla Flats! 12/13/2007

If you have not tried Tortilla Flats in Soquel, CA you are in for a treat! Try any special on their list and you will get consistently delicious food. Sample their tapas or usual menu items and you will be just as content. Take the whole family there, including the ""picky"" kids and grandmother and everyone will leave saying they can't wait to return. The wine list is impressive for a small restaurant and the margaritas are yummy! Pros: Any dish/wine/margaritas/tapas Cons: sometimes a wait to get in more

Not your average taqueria 12/5/2007

When I was going to Tortilla Flats I envisioned just some average taqueria. Once I entered the door at that instant I realized that it was anything but your average taqueria. The artwork on the walls was just stunning. I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender (who was very interesting to talk to and was a genuine character) while I ate some tasty tapas, and drinking a margarita. By the end of the night, I would say that I was a very satisfied customer and will return soon. Pros: Food, general atmosphere more

Great tapas 12/4/2007

I ate at tortilla flats the other day and just loved the tapas!! For those of you who don't know what tapas are, they are small dishes, like appetizers usually accompanied by wine. I finally found a restaurant in the Santa Cruz area with great tapas. Combine the good food with the amazing atmosphere, especially the artwork from all over the world, makes for a great experience. Ole Mole! event at tortilla flats in santa cruz, california 11/23/2007

Definitely the most consistent restaurant in the Soquel/Santa Cruz area. I went during their ""Ole Mole!"" event and was delighted with the flavors of my mole prueba (A five chile mole in the puebla style Complex and spicy to hot. Served with chunks of beef brisket.) I recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area. Pros: Great food, ambience, and I love all of their occasional events more

I ate at tortilla flats yesterday and was just amazed by the flavor and presentation of the dishes. My friends said the Margaritas were outstanding but I don't drink so I couldn't say anything about that. The general ambience of the restaurant made the experience complete. more

Lovely night in Santa Cruz 11/17/2007

I ate at tortilla flats today and was very pleased by all the flavors and how beautiful the dishes looked. My friends said the Margaritas were outstanding but I don't drink so I couldn't say anything about that. The general ambience of the restaurant made the experience complete. Pros: Service, food, bar, fun Cons: i wanted more food for free but they wouldn't give it to me!!! more

best mexican food and margaritas 9/10/2006

i eat here at least twice a week, and i always make sure to come for their weekly tapas specials on either monday or tuesday night (not only a great deal, but also really good--tapas are those small spanish dishes). the classic margarita is out of this world and they also have events from time to time. make sure to try the moles as you can't find this stuff in any other place around town. btw, saw they have a new website (tortillaflatsdining. com) Pros: great seating, fun bar, parking Cons: tapas specials are only available only on monday and tuesday more

Don't expect the same old enchilada. A wide variety of sauces all to die for and the mole is authentic. Try the original margs. served in gorgous glasses. Desserts are special too. My favorite the lemon blossom cheesecake. If your a veggy try the signature flatland Pros: fresh food, great service more
