If you are serious about your situation and your future, then this is the place for you. I came to TFL to get my license back after a DUI, what I did not go there for was help for my prior heroin addiction, but what I left with was priceless. After I finished with the initial program and entered the aftercare program Steve (my counselor) had suggested detoxing from methadone and I half-heartedly conceited. Well, upon finishing the aftercare program I whole-heartedly continued my detox off methadone and have been free from methadone for four months. I came away from TFL with a profound understanding of accountability. When TFL sets standards we must follow to finish the program, whether it be for court, work etc.. it is because we alone got ourselves in that situation and the only way to fix that is to do what is required. ...NO EXCUSES! The courts or police didn't accept any so why should TFL. And if TFL makes money on ones inability to be responsible, then they're doing something right ... running a successful business. I have a new perspective on life. Thank you to all at Tools for Life. more

I had the same unfortunate experience with Steve at Tools for Life. He Lectures that he knows better than Doctors even though he has only a High School Diploma. Steve actually thinks he is helping people, but in my opinoin he helps only his wallet with the kind ot tactics mentioned by PeteeG69. I would seriously like to hear from others about their experiences and would like to see if a class action lawsuit could be filed in attempting to get back some of the money people like me have poured down the drain at this place. When I finally decided to drop this place entirely, I went to another recovery program and the people there were familiar with tools for life, from many negative reports they got from others like me who wasted time and money on what was supposed to be counceling. I DEFINETELY DO NOT Recommend using this service. more

My Tools For Life Success Story 7/20/2010

Hello, my name is James and I just wanted to share my Tools for Life experience with you because one of the most powerful and valuable tools to help educate people are personal stories of those who have been triumphant in overcoming a substance or alcohol addiction. I began with Tools for Life approximately 5yrs ago, at that time I thought that I was ready to succeed with this program. However, I thought I could just continue to drink and play the game of Tools for Life. However, I was the one who in all actuality was getting played on, by my own hand. After spending almost 1yr incarcerated due to my alcoholism, I realized that I needed to make a drastic change, because of my bad choices I had lost my job, house, wife and driving priveleges. I was dependant upon others to take me to Job interviews, my classes at Tools for life, the grocery store, etc. Which was not fun, depending on others to do something for me because I was so independant. So I made the decision not only to take more

My probation officer told me to go to this place. I had 20 hours of DUI counseling to do. It was cheap per hour but watch out for the ""extras."" Steve made me drug test almost every week and that is an extra cost. Forget to bring your reciept and they charge you again. Steve the owner is a real piece. Always on his high horse. If you confront him he gets angry and tells you are wrong or in ""denial."" Just when I thought I was done, he told me I need more hours. My 20 hours turned into 75 hours. I have spent more than $1,000 dollars and now I got a bad review by Steve. My lawyer said just to start over again with a good place because I will never get my driver's license back... Don't go to this place or you will be sorry! Pros: Nothing Cons: Steve the owner is one angry greedy dude! more

This lady is full of it! 1/8/2010

I completed my DUI treatment at Tools For Life. They really helped me turn my life around and took the anxiety out of dealing with my situation. This woman who wrote this bad review is full of it. If you were being bothered why didn't you go to the staff? How can you say that they only show films when you were only there for 2 classes?! We saw some films but they did a lot more. Great place and reasonable prices! Pros: Professional staff who are knowledgable and helpful Cons: It was hadr to admit some things needed to change in my life more
