As a lifelong resident of the Alton area, I've been to Tony's more times than I can count. The food is typically above average; I've only been disappointed once or twice. However, the level of service provided can sometimes be a coin toss. The main problem with this place is the way they gouge the customer for every 'extra' thing you order. They hit you with charges for onions, mushrooms and sour cream. What's next, charging for lemons in the water??? Also, the tables are kind of close together, especially in the main dining room. On a nice night, ask to sit on the patio; very nice!
