I have been on the search for a stylist for over 2 years! My hair is unruly (on it's best day) and very thick. A hairdresser's worst nightmare basically. It's been my experience,...

Does anyone know where Christina went? She did a great job cutting fine hair. I believe she was a manager there, too. All of sudden she's gone and no one can give me a follow up a...

Don't go there! 11/11/2008

I asked for a little boys haircut and after much waiting--leaving and having them chase me down as I was leaving saying they were ready now....I was astonished when they charged me $49 for his haircut when he was 9 years old. When I called back the next day to check on the price of little boys haircuts she said the price was $34!! Not only was this ridiculous but they ultimately charged me to get more money since it was the end of the night---and I can only assume the manager had left.....NEVER AGAIN--I have told all my friends and am telling you now--stay away from this place! more

Ask for Tan & you can't go wrong! 11/5/2008

After years of long hair and not willing to pay the big bucks for a great haircut, I found Tan at Toni & Guy. He is consistently a great hairstylist! I receive a lot of compliments on my short cut and always give great reviews to Tan. Ask for Tan and you'll be pleased! Pros: Tan! Cons: A little pricey more

I found Cig and The Cigolicious Experience/ Lose Toni and Guy 11/5/2008

I recently called to make an appointment to get my hair cut done by my regular stylist Cig. They told me that he no longer worked there and I flipped! Who was going to do my hair? Luckily I was able to find him after I had let someone else at Toni and Guy try to dupplicate his cut...I suppose I should have learned my lesson because this is the second time my impatience has lead me to ""ruins"" without Cig.I. just wanted to let everyone else know that he is around because I know he has many loyal clients that would miss him tremendously if they could not follow him. He can be found at Crimson Salon at 806 west ave.(around the corner from Whole Foods) I know that it is a drive, but you get what you pay for. I have learned that high dollar is not equated to great cut,but Cig is. Cig has a heart of gold when it comes to keeping his clients happy.I will follow you to any salon, Ciggy. here is his cell for loyal clients in need 512-773-6012 Pros: Cig was there Cons: Poor Service,Rude Management,Salon Fixtures in Poor Condition. Cig left more

WHERE IS CIG!!! 10/25/2008

can anyone tell me where Cig went? Tony and Guy will never be the same with out him I'm so upset. I went there today and they had some other girl cut my hair and I'm highly disappointed. The hair cut is so dull and I'm not very pleased at all. Cig is the only person I trust with my hair I WISH I KNEW where he was. :/ more

Huge joke! Buyer Beware! 10/20/2008

Cons: everything stay clear more

Appalling. 10/20/2008

My first bad experience at Lakelines Toni & Guy was when I had partial highlights, the colorist paid no attention to what I asked for (light brown, caramel highlights) and once my hair was dried I had to go over and show her that there were no visible highlights at all in my dark brown hair. She offered no apology. She then had to redo them and even then I still wasn't happy. I had to put my whole day on hold to sit in there for 4 and a half hours because of her mistake, and was offered no compensation. My second bad experience was for a haircut. I had very long hair and I only wanted a few layers in the bottom to make it a bit lighter. She cut 7 inches off before I'd even finished telling her what I wanted. And lastly, two weeks ago I thought I would try a differnt colorist, and when booking my appointment on the phone I even specified that I wanted someone compentent, so that hopefully there wouldnt be any issues. I turned up for my appointment firstly to be told that the receptionist had given me the wrong time and I needed to wait half and hour, and secondly to see that the person doing my hair would be the the colorist I saw being trained a month or so before. I was kept waiting an additional 45mins whilst she finished off her client before me, and then Levi had to come and take over, because after an hour and 15 minutes I had 4 higlights in, and I was booked in for a full head. Thankfully Levi ended up completing all of my highlights and my blowdry. If it wasn't for Levi I would never be going back, he is the only person there I would recommend. I will never get my hair cut there again though. Risky Buisness!! Pros: Once you find someone good, as long as you stick with them you'll be fine! Good luck finding someone though! Cons: Time management, Service, Customer relations... EVERYTHING! more

where did cig go? 10/20/2008

Hey christy, I used to work with cig. email me at epoz16@yahoo and I will make sure you guys get back in touch. They play dumb because they are not allowed to give out that info but I know he will be back in town soon. I will make sure you hear from him when he gets back. more

Where did Cig go? 10/4/2008

I would rate the place higher, but without Cig it's really just an overpriced mall salon. If anyone knows where he went PLEASE clue me in. I really don't trust anyone else to cut my hair now that it's short. Also, when I asked them at the salon they played dumb and wouldn't tell me. more

Kara is the best! 4/25/2008

Will Never Go Anywhere Else 1/30/2008

When I moved to Austin from Chicago 3 years ago it took me a year before I heard about toni and guy ever since then I will never use anyone else. Victoria, my colorist is amazing with picking the greatest colors and highlights knows exactly what I should use and want even if I don't. I always get compliments on my hair. Sig 9the greatest hairstylst on the planet) cuts and styes my hair. He is great to talk to and is an expert at keeping professionalism, knows what is hot and what is not, and is enjoyable to talk to. I would absolutely recommend this place, and have, to all women and men who want a place that not only knows your hair but also knows you and how to make your hair look its best. Thank God for toni and guy. Pros: Friendly knowledgeable staff, trendy atmosphere Cons: can be pricy but you know what they say,"" you get what you pay for"" more

Great Haircut 5/23/2007

Very friendly. Did a great job on my haircut. It was expensive ($80 for a haircut). I am not sure it is worth the price. Pros: Very Good haircut, Good hairstylist Cons: too expensive ($80), had to wait 45minutes past my appointment time more

Terrible service, bad attitude, over priced. 5/1/2007

The Barton Creek Square Mall and the Lakeline Mall Toni & Guy offer equally horrendous service. From booking an appointment to sitting down with a stylist the attitude is rude and unfriendly. When calling be prepared to be put on hold several times for upwards of 10 minutes. Appointments are canceled fewer than 15 minutes before the scheduled time. The stylists are always running late and in a big rush. I have had a color mistake as well as a botched haircut. I have never had a satisfactory service. I am an understanding and patient person and dealt with the disappointing service on a few occasions because I like to give everyone a second chance. This salon failed each and every time. They are also way over priced for a chain mall salon. more

TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!! 1/18/2006

I WOULDN'T THINK OF GOING ANYWHERE ELSE! I RECENTLY MOVED TO AUSTIN AND WHEN I MOVED I ASKED A FRIEND WHAT SHE RECOMMENDED IN AUSTIN AND SHE SENT ME TO TONI AND GUY AT LAKELINE! THAT IS WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR. SHE TOLD ME IT WAS AN EDUCATIONAL SALON, AND BOY WAS SHE RIGHT! I GOT TO TALKING ABOUT THE EDUCATION WITH MY STYLIST, AND LET ME TELL YOU IT MUST TAKE A LOT TO WORK THERE. MY STYLIST WAS TELLING ME ABOUT ALL THE EDUCATION HE HAD BEEN THROUGH AND EVEN THOUGH HE HAS BEEN THERE YEARS HE STILL CONTINUES TO GROW AND LEARN WITH KNOWLEDGE AND CUTTING EDGE TECHNIQUES. I WAS COMPLETLEY SATISFIED NOT TO MENTION THAT WHEN I WENT BACK FOR MY FOLLOW UP I GOT COMPLIMENTS UP UNTIL IT WAS TIME TO GET IT CUT AGAIN. MY STYLE LASTED THE WHOLE SIX WEEKS. THANKS GUYS! Pros: EDUCATION, FRIENDLY, INFORMATIVE Cons: MALL more

You are not THAT cool. 5/20/2005

BARTON CREEK LOCATION: Changing stylists is a tough decision, & really takes time and consideration. I like to talk to stylists to get a feel for their ideas and attitude. I stopped into T&G in the mall thinking I would be going to a place with highly educated staff. I was treated so rudely, and really as if they would be doing me a favor by doing my hair. HORRIBLE. I did not appreciate the condescending way in which I was spoken to...nevermind the completely disinterested pseudo-greeting/glance I received from this particular stylist when I approached her and politely introduced myself. I wouldn't trust her with my hair. She wouldn't even look me in the eye whilst speaking to me, what makes me think she would concern herself with my hair while styling it? *ugh* I'm disgusted. Pros: highly educated staff Cons: rude staff, in the mall more

Excellent Hair Salon 7/26/2003

I recently moved here to Austin, from Dallas, Tx. and was referred to this salon by a neighbor... I was very impressed with my stylist experience with hair. And I can say that my hair color has never been so natural looking with the highlight service I received. And the staff was very polite, and professional. more

Mall cuts 6/25/2003

This is a good place for a mall cut. I did a walk in cut and highlite. The staff was friendly and personable. Not the best cut or color but acceptable. I would return. Pros: good parking, convienent Cons: busy, noisy more

Serious Disappointment 3/16/2003

After taking my daughter to this salon to get 20"" of hair cut off and a new ""very cute"" style, I thought I had found a salon that could be trusted. I couldn't have been more disappointed when I went to get my own transformation. I went on a very rainy Valentines Day. I walked in with sopping wet hair for my 11am appointment. The stylist was not pleasant and I listened as he discussed the amount of his wages were being garnished for child support. His conversation overshadowed any answers about the way I desired my hair to look. I walked in with a sexy style in mind, and out less $130 and with an embarrassing cut and style. The long layers I requested now included layers that were less than 1"" and the waves were instead simply clumps of styling product. I wouldn't return if they paid me. Pros: offered coffee, location good, had tv's and music Cons: too bright, rude counter staff, rude stylists more
